As Australians continue to feel cost of living pressures[1], new research from Samsung Australia indicates that the nation’s appetite for art remains strong suggesting that in challenging times people turn to art for inspiration. A third (34%) of Australian respondents – rising to almost half (48%) for those aged 25-35 years old – are currently dreaming of the day they get to travel to Paris to visit The Louvre, while nearly half (48%) of 25-35 years old respondents aspire to own a famous piece of art, even if they admit it’s unrealistic[2].

The new insights also highlight a growing desire to be exposed to fine art every day, despite the finer things in life feeling increasingly out of reach for many Australians. Nearly half (45%) of respondents say they’d like to have more art in their home[3], while over a third (38%) of respondents say they enjoy visiting art galleries on the weekend to relax and feel inspired.

According to Simon Howe, Director of Audio Visual at Samsung Australia, bringing world-class art into Australians’ homes has been a long-standing mission for the company. Since pioneering the concept of Art TVs via The Frame TV and Samsung Art Store[4] in 2017; Samsung has continually evolved its Art TV offering to help more Australians curate their own collections, enhance their home décor, and feel inspired, all through their Samsung TVs at home. In fact, in 2025, 90% of Samsung’s TV line-up features the Art Store[5], transforming more TVs into beautifully curated pieces of art when not being watched.

“The Frame TV and the Art Store were a revolutionary pairing that brought the calibre of MoMA, The Met, and Tate Modern into Australian living rooms,” said Mr. Howe. “The aim was to provide Australians with a virtual pass to access works from the world’s most talented artists spread across various countries, all from the comfort of home. Today, Australians purchase more Frame TVs per capita than any other country[6] reflecting a local appreciation for fine arts and culture steeped in human creativity.”

Mr. Howe added that for Samsung, the goal has always been to make world-class art more accessible, personal, and part of everyday life. “Australians are increasingly looking to the technology in their homes not just for function, but to elevate their living spaces and reflect personal style. We also know people want to feel relaxed and inspired at home — and art plays a huge role in creating that atmosphere.”

While generative AI art capabilities are increasingly available, Samsung insights reveal 60% of Australians worry that AI-generated art could pose a threat to human creativity and culture[7]. This further highlights the strong value Australians place on authentic, human-made works of art.

Today, Samsung’s Art Store features over 3,000 pieces of curated artworks from more than 800 artists and 70 world-class galleries and museums[8]. With the Art Store available on Samsung’s range of Neo QLED, 8K & 4K, and select QLED 4K TVs, artists like Australia’s Mulga and Sarrita King can be showcased alongside new curated collections from the 2025 Art Basel Paris Fair in TV sizes spanning 43” up to 115”. Continuing to enhance art experiences, Samsung has also released new innovations such as the Wireless One Connect Box[9] and Glare-Free[10] coating, both available on The Frame Pro and Neo QLED QN990F models, enabling Australians to display art via the Art Store cable-free like a true gallery piece.

“With almost half (46%) of our research respondents saying they like when they receive compliments on the art in their home[11], Samsung will continue to drive the Art TV category forward, bringing new ways for more Australians to feel inspired in their homes,” Mr Howe concludes.

Samsung has been the Global No. 1 TV brand for 19 consecutive years[12] and was recently voted the Best TV Brand via Finder’s Most Satisfied Customer Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the addition of 15 new artworks from Tate to Samsung Art Store[1]. This expansion builds on the platform’s existing partnerships with renowned institutions like the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and many more. By integrating the Tate collection, Samsung Art Store continues to bridge the gap between world-class museums and cultural institutions, bringing masterpieces directly into homes.

The new Tate collection includes iconic modern masters such as Henri Matisse, Salvador Dalí, Mark Rothko, and Roy Lichtenstein — the first pop art artists to appear on the Art Store — as well as leading contemporary artists like Peter Doig and Beatriz Milhazes.

Among the highlights are some of Tate Modern’s most celebrated works including Roy Lichtenstein’s “Whaam!”; Henri Matisse’s “The Snail” – a must-see in the Tate’s permanent collection; and, Jackson Pollock’s “Yellow Islands.” The collection also offers a glimpse into the breadth and energy of modern and contemporary art by showcasing British painter, Howard Hodgkin, alongside Peter Doig’s dreamlike “Echo Lake” and “Ski Jacket.”

Samsung Neo QLED displaying “Dinner at West Hill (1964-6)” by Howard Hodgkin

With these new additions, Samsung Art Store further expands its mission to democratise access to art, making it possible for anyone to enjoy museum-quality works from home, with ease. By bringing together partners from across the globe — from New York, to Madrid to London — the platform offers a unique opportunity to experience the depth and versatility of modern and contemporary art. With Tate now joining the lineup, art lovers can enjoy a collection that speaks to both heritage and innovation.

“Samsung Art Store is dedicated to providing people with the opportunity to experience world-class art in the comfort of their living rooms,” said Heeyeong Ahn, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “By expanding our offerings to pieces from Tate, we are taking another step in supporting the irreplaceable experience of seeing art in person.”

The nationwide roll-out of Samsung’s new AI-powered home appliances and audio visual solutions coincides with the launch of new research which reveals over a third (37%) of Australians believe smart devices bring wonder to their homes alongside art (36%) and beautiful home décor (46%)[5].

For half of Australians (50%), wonder emerges with the convenience of operating devices remotely, while for 44 per-cent of single parents with kids, it’s the potential to reduce energy bills via their smart devices[6].

With an average of 24 connected devices in the average Australian home[7], two-thirds (67%) believe AI-assisted devices could further help to reduce the daily mental load and give them time back to relax.[8] In fact, two thirds (68%) of Australians admit to thinking about chores up to four times a day[9], when they’d rather be relaxing in front of the TV (83%), listening to music (61%), or spending time with loved ones (60%)[10].

“Samsung has been reimagining the role of smart devices for ten years with the goal of making everyday life easier for consumers. Our motivation is to let your smart devices think about what’s for dinner or how to best clean your floors simply so you don’t have to,” said Mr. Gaut. “Our 2025 line-up is a culmination of that journey to date whereby our connected ecosystem of products help to reduce the mental load while promoting feelings of relaxation, assurance, immersion and expression every day.

“To bring immersive experiences to more homes, we’ve stretched a Neo QLED TV up to 100-inches so every time you sit in front of your TV it feels cinematic. To promote self-expression and elevate home decor, we’ve expanded the Art Store from The Frame to over 90 per-cent of our Neo QLED and QLED line-up[11]. To assure Australians that their connected home experience is safe we’ve further fortified our home appliances with Knox Security spanning our Bespoke refrigerators, Bespoke washers and dryers, and Bespoke vacuum ranges, and enhanced SmartThings so Australians can monitor and control their home from anywhere,” Mr. Gaut continued.

Building on 50 years of home appliance innovation excellence, Samsung has launched AI Home as a transformative step forward to help Australians unlock ease of use, savings, and new ways to care for themselves and others from home. Using on-device processing with Edge AI, appliances powered by AI Home can adapt to individual routines, and deliver optimised home experiences to suit a diverse range of lifestyles.

In 2025, Samsung has integrated AI Home displays into more Bespoke AI appliances including the 809L Bespoke AI Family Hub + and 615L AI Home Side By Side Refrigerator. The AI Home screen extends the core purpose of these refrigerators by transforming them into central smart home control hubs with the ability to connect, monitor and control compatible third party devices connected through SmartThings’ Map View feature[12]. Via the AI Home screens, Australians can also use features like the refrigerators’ Daily Board to receive personalised information and better manage their day.

Complimenting the performance of 400Ws of suction power making the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra the world’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum[13] is an LED digital display. With a quick glance, Australians can see the suction level, remaining battery time, and alerts to blockages in the brush for easy maintenance[14]. With SmartThings compatibility, Australians can also manage the vacuum settings from their compatible smart phone device[15] and receive customised maintenance guides thanks to the Bespoke AI Jet Stick vacuum’s smart-self diagnosis feature.

Samsung has also applied enhanced Knox security to appliances across the line-up to enable Australians to enjoy their AI Home experience with peace of mind. In 2025, Knox Matrix’s Trust Chain feature has been applied to the 809L Bespoke AI Family Hub + and 615L AI Home Side By Side Refrigerator[16], enabling Australians to continuously monitor products’ security status in real time through a dashboard. Knox Vault has also been applied to these appliances for the first time, storing user information such as passwords and authentication information in a separate hardware chip to ensure protection.

Samsung’s 2025 range of AI-Powered appliances are complete with Smart Forward which provides continuous software updates including new features to enhance the consumer[17]. By integrating all of these wide-ranging initiatives, Samsung aims to create safer and more reliable smart home experiences that users can enjoy with comfort and peace of mind.

“Samsung’s 2025 range of home appliances and AV solutions are designed to be powerful as individual products and extraordinary when combined, utilising screen technologies to bring ease, simplicity, safety, and care to more Australians. When Australians engage with a single product, they unlock the best of Samsung’s innovation and value beyond its core purpose,” said Mr. Gaut.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today showcased its latest innovations for the connected home. During its IFA 2023 press conference, the company highlighted its vision for SmartThings is to enable consumers to prioritise the topics they care about – from helping to save energy, increasing security and access to great entertainment to making their everyday lives more efficient. The ever-growing SmartThings ecosystem allows its 285 million users to adapt and personalise their homes to suit their needs, seamlessly connecting and controlling multiple compatible appliances and devices via one app[1].

Samsung’s presence at IFA 2023 comes as the company shares new consumer research, conducted across Europe to understand evolving needs for technology in the home[2].

“Samsung is passionate about connecting our users to the people, places and pastimes that matter most to them,” said Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Europe. “We will continue to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the latest innovations in technology to make sure the SmartThings ecosystem grows and develops in a way that allows people to make even more of the connections that matter.”

Enhancing the at-home experience

The SmartThings app allows users to control their homes from anywhere, helping them to enjoy seamless entertainment as well as keeping them safe. Across Europe, our homes continue to be more important than ever as they play multiple roles each day – from offices to places for relaxation and entertainment. Seven in ten consumers (71%) agree that technology has a positive impact on their everyday living, including how they interact with their friends and family, how they conduct their chores and how they enjoy their hobbies¹.

Now, those with a passion for food can fully connect themselves to the joy of cooking and eating with Samsung Food, the new all-in-one app for recipe searching, saving and sharing, meal planning, cooking and grocery shopping. Announced at the press conference, Samsung Food is available in 104 countries and eight languages, and puts the world’s food knowledge at users’ fingertips, empowering them to make the food, health and cooking decisions that are right for them. It can also connect to users’ kitchens, instantly sending the right time and temperature to their compatible Samsung oven. With more than 160,000 recipes, there will always be something new to cook.

By the end of the year, using Food AI, Samsung Food will provide personalised recipes reflecting users’ dietary requirements, such as converting recipes into a vegan version in just a few taps. In a further enhancement due later this year, it will link with Samsung Health so tailored meal plans can be adapted to suit preferences and dietary requirements, as well as support users in reaching their health goals[3]. In 2024, using Vision AI technology, Samsung Food will use photos taken of meals to check nutritional information, recognise ingredients and recommend the best recipes to use them in[4].

As the number one TV brand for 17 years in a row[5], Samsung has an unrivalled commitment to entertainment. It has completed its super screen line up with the launch of the 4K Q80C and 98” Neo QLED 8K, which will be available in Australia via special order only. Samsung plans to bring its full range of Micro LED screens to Australia by the end of the year, offering incredible contrast and jaw-dropping detail that places viewers in the middle of the action whether gaming or watching films.

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Samsung has announced new Disney themed artwork that will be available on The Frame TV via the Art Store[6]. Over 100 pieces of iconic art from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel, Lucasfilm and National Geographic, as well as classic images of Mickey, Minnie, Woody, Cinderella and many others, will be available. Users can also display their family photos for a magical home environment.

Also announced at the press conference was the global launch of The Freestyle 2nd Gen. This versatile, portable projector delivers a big screen experience wherever the user chooses – even on the ceiling. The Smart Edge Blending feature offers landscape and portrait screen experiences, meaning two Freestyle 2nd Gen projectors can be paired to give a 160” panoramic and 120” vertical viewing experience[7]. What is more, with complete access to the Samsung Gaming Hub[8], users of the Freestyle 2nd Gen can enjoy the biggest games from Samsung’s streaming partners.

In partnership with Xbox and Bethesda Softworks, this now includes Starfield[9], the stunning, next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars. Playable through the Samsung Gaming Hub with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, without the need for a console[10].

Taking small steps for our planet

Samsung is committed to developing products and services that can help people save money and take steps towards a better planet. These topics are high on the agenda for consumers too, over three quarters (77%) say they seek out tech products that save energy – not only to save money, but for the benefit of the environment too4. Two-thirds (67%) also consider it important that their next appliance can connect to an app that allows them to monitor and reduce their energy consumption4.

With energy prices increasing across Europe[11], 72% of those asked are concerned about the cost of running appliances in their home[12]. To help combat this, SmartThings Energy can help users optimise the energy used across their appliances to suit their needs and lower usage.

Keeping your home secure

Samsung understands the reassurance that smart technology can provide across the generations. Security was an emerging theme from the research conducted. Watching their home while they aren’t there (54%), feeling safer when home alone (39%) and keeping their family safe when they are out of the house (39%) are seen as the key safety benefits of smart technology[13].

The SmartThings ecosystem includes a range of partners who are committed to helping people keep their homes and loved ones safe. This now includes Yale, a leading brand in home security. The Yale Linus® Smart Lock and the new Smart Opener for Gate & Garage enable doors and gates to be locked remotely via the app to ensure peace of mind for all family members.

Unlocking the future through smart technology

Samsung is invested in a future built around the possibilities that technology can unlock. One area it aims to make a difference is in making the technology for smart homes more easily available. The research shows a quarter of Europeans consider the inclusion of smart technology to be a key factor in the desirability of their next home and over three quarters of respondents said fully functional smart homes are appealing (77%)12.

Understanding this, Samsung is working to make these possibilities a reality and it believes in the power of collaboration when it comes to driving this vision forward. By partnering with ABB Smart Buildings and SMA, one of the world’s leading providers of photovoltaic and storage system technology, it hopes to connect people more closely to their homes by embedding the possibilities of smart technology into houses before they are bought. By integrating ABB and SMA products into SmartThings Energy, homes can become safer, smarter and efficient. For example, the ability to run appliances at the optimum time, tracking energy use to adjust consumption based on energy prices and usage patterns, and optimising energy use based on solar production.

Samsung Art Store is the epitome of the digital-physical blend, taking over today’s art experiences. It allows widely acclaimed galleries, museums and artists to showcase their masterpieces to users around the world through The Frame’s amazing digital display. Since its launch in 2017, Samsung Art Store allows extraordinary, one-of-a-kind art selections to be accessible to consumers from the comfort of their own homes.

Mulga is the embodiment of the cool “art dude” persona. The Sydney-based Australian artist is a freelance illustrator, published author and muralist, whose style is vibrant, intricate and just fun. With a career beginning in finance, he transitioned to making a living through art when he decided he wanted to do something he was truly passionate about.

Now, Mulga makes a living doing what he loves. His art is inspired by animals, summer and the ocean, which is brought to life through Samsung’s Art Store. Samsung Newsroom sat down with Mulga to hear more about his artistic process and how he sees digital transformation affecting the art world.

Mulga

Q: Your work is described by others as intricate, vibrant and unique. In your own words, how would you describe your art style?

I’d say it has a lot of summer vibes and humour to it. It also has real Australian vibes. There are always the black lines and details with an element of fun that tie it all together. You could say that it is art that brings a smile to your face and makes you feel good.

Q: You’ve worked on a variety of projects — collaborations with big brands, murals, smaller original paintings and snowboards. What has been one of your recent favorites?

Last month, I painted a 100-meter-long mural on the beach at Port Macquarie, and that was an awesome one to do. I love the beach, summer and surfing; so, it was the perfect location. At one stage, the waves were washing up against the wall while I was painting, and I had to time it with the tides. This made it a bit more exciting.

Q: How did you start working with Samsung and the Art Store? What excites you the most about this partnership?

I’ve worked with Samsung on a bunch of different campaigns over the years, usually creating art using Samsung products. One time, I even created over 19 mobile phone wallpapers. Samsung is a great partner to work with because they have cool products and do a lot of collaborations with creatives.

I got involved with the Art Store when The Frame was first launched. Samsung licensed one of my gorilla artworks to display on the TVs and to use for printed ads. I painted live at the launch in Sydney and worked a big mural in Melbourne promoting The Frame.

Having my work in the Art Store means that people all around the world are discovering my art. Once someone has seen my piece in the Art Store, they are more likely to find my website, in search for the original painting that they have displayed on their TV. Also, there are royalties based on how long my art is on display on all the TVs around the world.

Q: Much of your work is done in a real, physical way — painting. How do you find your paintings translate to digital display on The Frame? Do you have plans to work with other mediums in the future?

It works great. I scan all my artworks into a high-resolution digital format for The Frame, and it looks close to a real-life painting. While I have no plans to change the way I paint, I would love to turn my paintings into 3D works of art — really big public ones — in the future.

Q: How has your own artwork evolved as technology advanced? Are there any notable changes to your work that were deeply impacted by innovations in technology?

With the rise in blockchain technology and the new thing of being able to ‘own’ digital art now via NFTs, digital art is really having its heyday. As an artist, it is a great thing. I’ve been creating digital art a lot more and particularly when working on my own NFT collection “MulgaKongz.” By creating art on a tablet, I can work anywhere — at the beach, on a boat or in a motor vehicle. It’s very convenient.

In terms of displaying the artwork, digital displays like The Frame provide colours that are super vibrant with all the details on full display. The colours can sometimes even be more vibrant than the real-life paintings so that they appear as if they are supercharged. A lot of the times when the artworks are displayed on The Frame, they are larger than the real-life version, and a lot of the details are more noticeable too, which can be more impactful than the real-life smaller versions.

Q: What three pieces of yours would you recommend for users to display on The Frame?

It really comes down to personal preference, but I can tell you that last month, my most popular artwork in the Art Store was the Clifford King of the Point. It’s a painting of a big, bearded dude, standing with his surfboard on my local beach, and he is surrounded by goofy looking seagulls. It’s summery, fun and colourful.

Clifford King of the Point (2020)

The second most viewed artwork of mine last month was a colourful collage style artwork titled Under the Sea. It features coral, fish with moustaches, bearded pineapples and octopus tentacles. I originally drew this artwork for a chain of Poke Bowl restaurants in my hometown of Sydney.

Under the Sea (2018)

Another one of my favorite artworks in the Art Store is titled Cactus Brothers. It’s a painting of two cactus characters wearing sombreros under a starry night sky. They are in the desert surrounded by cacti and palm trees, and an oasis style lake is in the background. It was an artwork, which I was commissioned to paint for a cactus-loving collector of my art.

Cactus Brothers (2021)

With their sensual designs, Samsung’s Lifestyle TVs are being widely used as interior-enhancing items for expressing one’s taste.

Depending on the space, there are various ways in which Samsung’s Lifestyle TVs can be used to enhance an interior. With the help of a home stylist named Rachel, Samsung Newsroom came up with elegant ways to use the company’s Lifestyle TVs and household objects to decorate a variety of spaces. Whether you are decorating your interior with plants or opting for a minimal aesthetic, the following tips and tricks can help you create the perfect space.

Going beyond the conventional idea of what a TV is, Samsung’s leading range of lifestyle TVs are true pieces of interior décor that allow users to express themselves in their own spaces. Whether you’re looking for a TV that can double as an art frame, a screen to display portrait as well as landscape-oriented content on, or a TV whose design speaks for itself, there’s something for everyone in the range.

In order to get to know more about how users around the world are enjoying their Samsung lifestyle TVs, Samsung Newsroom reached out to a range of influencers and trailblazers within different creative industries.

Kyal & Kara, Australian Renovators Who Like to Think Outside the Box

“The ability to view either your own or world-renowned media on The Frame means that there are infinite ways to create a look and feel unique to each individual.”

Q: How do Samsung’s lifestyle TVs factor into your daily household routines and activities?

A: With two young children and an active lifestyle, we really value our relaxation time together as a family, and Samsung’s lifestyle TVs play a big part in this. On the weekends, we love our movie time together as a family, and the kids love choosing artwork from the Art Store for The Frame we have in our rumpus room – it’s a great way for them to take ownership of the space.

Q: Samsung’s The Frame combines technology with aesthetic for seamless TV experiences. What are your favorite features of the TV?

A: The two standout features for us are the TV’s thin, streamlined design and the customizable bezel. We’re all about creating spaces that evoke emotion as you enter the room, and the ability to view either your own or world-renowned media on the TV means that there are infinite ways to create a look and feel unique to each individual.

Q: What tips would you provide to users looking to match their Samsung lifestyle TV to their interior?

A: We have three key tips. Tip 1: function first – work out how you’d like your TV to be displayed. The Serif is a great option for angular spaces where wall mounting or units are not an option.

Tip 2: find your inspiration. From color palettes to other décor pieces, be sure to know what’s important in your space. Finally, tip 3: create a style unique to you. Ask yourself what vibe you’re looking for with your space. For example, if you prefer minimal interior styling, The Frame with a white bezel would be the perfect choice.

Adèle & Maxime, French Graphic Designers With an Interest in How Objects Work With Their Interiors

“Samsung’s lifestyle TVs blend in with the décor, becoming an aesthetic element in their own right – all with simplicity and lightness.”

Q: As designers and illustrators yourselves, what do you think about the design of Samsung’s lifestyle TVs?

A: The design of Samsung TVs is very interesting because, once placed, they become a modern and active object in our interiors. They blend in with the decor, becoming an aesthetic element in their own right – all with simplicity and lightness.

Q: Samsung has partnered with some artists on the design of their lifestyle TVs. What are your thoughts on such partnerships that blend technological innovation with artistic creativity?

A: The idea of opening up the design of an everyday object to creators is something that is very important to us. Technological objects can lose their simplicity and poetry by merit of their design, but by collaborating with creative people, we can bring this issue to the forefront to resolve it.

Virro & Lola, A Mexican-French Photographer and Creative Professional Duo With a Passion for Travel

“Samsung’s lifestyle TVs combine art, aesthetics, interior design and entertainment, making them go far beyond the television function – which is really revolutionary.”

Q: Along with your professional pursuits, you are known for your joint Instagram page where you share your favorite travel experiences. What do you think about The Serif with which you can view your own media and memories?

A: We used to hate the black screen of the TV in our living room, so Ambient Mode is one of the features we love most about The Serif. It’s really cool that Samsung regularly introduces new content for Ambient Mode, but mostly, we’re keen on showcasing our own media and having it on display for ourselves and our guests.

Q: Virro – as a photographer, what is it about Samsung’s lifestyle TVs that appeals to you the most?

A: First of all, thanks to their QLED screens, the image quality is impressive. In addition, Samsung’s lifestyle TVs combine art, aesthetics, interior design and entertainment, making them go far beyond the television function – which is really revolutionary.

Q: Lola – what is your favorite thing about The Serif?

A: What I love most about The Serif is that it’s a TV that doesn’t look like one. Being passionate about interior design, I believe that The Serif is a beautiful, unique and bold addition to a living space.

Lotte Meister, an American Interior Decorator and Stager Who Loves When Function Meets Style

“The Serif feels both retro and modern at the same time and doesn’t take up too much visual space the way a TV on a console table might.”

Q: Samsung’s lifestyle TVs are developed to be able to fit into any interior space and aesthetic. What are your thoughts on the design of The Serif? What do you like most about it?

A: The Serif’s clean lines and cool vibe make it a decorative element in its own right. What’s more, the sloped ceilings of our bedroom did not permit a flat screen to be hung on the wall, yet we wanted to be able to watch TV in bed. The Serif was the perfect solution. It feels both retro and modern at the same time and doesn’t take up too much visual space the way a TV on a console table might. The hidden wiring is also genius – the decorator and stager in me loves the look!

Q: What about The Frame? What do you like most about it?

A: We have 3 homes across New York state, each with completely different aesthetics. We have a Frame TV in each of these homes, and it looks great in each location. I love it because it looks like another piece of art and doesn’t scream “Look at me, I’m a TV!”. The choice of finishes available for The Frame make it work in every style of home.

Jin-woong Son, a Korean Furniture Designer With a Passion for the Harmony of the Interior

“The Frame’s bezel is so refined that the joints fit perfectly when you switch out your bezel – like puzzle piece slotting into place.”

Q: As a professional furniture designer, do you have any special criteria in mind when choosing a TV?

A: I would never choose a product that doesn’t harmonize with the space it is to be placed in, which is why I currently use The Frame, as I like how it can be used as an actual art frame when the screen is turned off.

On top of that, you can easily change The Frame’s bezel color to match your changing interior any time you want, something that you can’t do with most electronics. Furthermore, the bezel’s joints are designed at a 45° angle, and as a furniture designer, this strikes me as amazingly sophisticated. The bezel is so refined that the joints fit perfectly when you switch out your bezel – like puzzle pieces slotting into place.

Q: These days, the demand for lifestyle TVs that are able to merge seamlessly into a user’s space is on the rise. What are your thoughts on this trend?

A: In the past, the TV used to play the role of gathering family members all together in the living space while also providing entertainment. These days, however, the role of TVs has become much more about providing multifaceted entertainment experiences, as well as serving as statement furniture pieces.

For those living in a small space, The Serif makes the perfect choice – as opposed to, say, a huge wall-mounted TV – as it makes use of the space it takes up by serving as a sophisticated interior décor item that stands on its own as a piece of furniture.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced a new partnership with the iconic Musée du Louvre. Through this partnership, Samsung will continue to develop the Art Store on its lifestyle TV, The Frame, through an exclusive artwork partnership with the Louvre in Paris, France.

With new artworks from the Louvre joining the collection, The Frame now boasts a catalog with over 1,500 works of art from 43 different countries that consumers can enjoy in 4K picture quality from museums and galleries around the world, including the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, the Tate Modern in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Hermitage State Museum in Saint Petersburg and LUMAS.

“Ever since we launched our lifestyle TV portfolio in 2017, we have focused on developing the Art Store platform with prestigious partners. We want to offer much more than a television, inviting Art into the homes of The Frame owners everywhere. This catalog lists works by hundreds of artists, covering diverse periods, from ancient civilizations to modern art,” explained Wonjin Lee, President and Head of Service Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “This year, we are proud to join forces with one of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre, to enhance this collection and offer a taste of French heritage throughout the world.”

Admire the Louvre’s treasures from your own home

By entering into a partnership with the Louvre[1], Samsung offers all The Frame owners a chance to explore the most visited museum in the world through forty pieces of artwork and photographs. This selection includes must-see masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and The Wedding Feast at Cana, as well as photos of the majestic Louvre galleries, its architecture and museum grounds (Louvre Pyramid, Tuileries Garden, etc.). A short description of each work gives users a glimpse into their background and history.

Samsung and the Louvre also plan to unveil other exclusive content for The Frame users later this year.

“The Louvre is a venue of discovery, imbued with emotion, a spectacular setting for artistic masterpieces. Admiring works from its collection every day, at home, as well as views of the building, galleries and gardens, is a wonderful way to see and understand the extraordinary beauty of this museum,” said Yann Le Touher, Head of Development, Brand Licensing and Commercial Partnerships of the Louvre.

Establishing a perfectly balanced home décor means adorning your walls with just the right things. But what if, instead of having to choose just one artwork to pull together a room, you could pick many?

Samsung’s lifestyle TV The Frame is known for its ability to recreate images that look remarkably like physical prints and paintings, with quantum dots in the panels making colors more vibrant and sharpening contrast. The Frame has been offering curated selections since 2017, with the Art Store providing access to an expansive range of artworks from a host of eras and contributions from world-renowned galleries and museums.

Under its monthly theme of ‘Wild and Free’, the Art Store is featuring world-renowned photographer Tommy Clarke, whose aerial photography transports viewers to scenic, dreamlike destinations. Samsung Newsroom sat down with Clarke to learn about his creative journey and his work.

The View From Up Here

Ever since he first picked up a camera, Clarke knew that photography would allow him to capture his artistic vision in a way no other medium could. “I found I could most easily capture what I wanted to with a camera,” he says. “Plus, I’m able to have my camera with me at all times!”

And Clarke’s preference for aerial photography has led him all over the globe, from Miami Beach to Iceland, as he searches out interesting scenes to capture. “From there it becomes about whether I can get a helicopter or plane over the area,” he relates. “When the stars align, I pack a camera and go.”

Rather than orchestrate a scene, Clarke prefers to capture what’s naturally going on beneath him, flying high enough so that people aren’t looking up at him, but low enough so that he can capture those important details.

Capturing Incredible Colors Around the Globe

For Clarke, color is a vital element when it comes to getting the perfect shot. “The colors may be the most important part of my photos. It’s what first catches the eye and it’s why my photos hang on walls around the world,” he says. “Capturing incredible colors – be they from sand bars in Australia, or colorful beach towels in Saint Tropez – is what gives my photos their beauty.”

And technology plays a huge role in ensuring those colors are accurately reflected. On The Frame, which produces 100% color volume thanks to quantum dot technology, colors have a lifelike quality that truly communicates the artist’s intent. “I am used to world class printers and museum quality paper, so when I first saw my images on The Frame, I was blown away,” he notes. “The colors pop in the same way they do in a physical print.”

Redefining Norms

With technology like The Frame’s QLED display now available to him, Clarke says his craft is shifting. “I’d be willing to put on a fully digital exhibition now. Technology like The Frame gives me full faith that my images will be displayed exactly as I want them to be,” he says. “Given the choice of doing an exhibition with five screens on the wall showing images on rotation, or printing and framing forty images, I’d go for The Frame every time.”

What’s more, with The Frame users have access to an ever-growing library of art unlike any other. In Clarke’s opinion, “The best part about The Frame is that you don’t have to choose just one picture to hang on the wall. Often, people at my gallery are torn when deciding which picture to buy. But The Frame resolves this by allowing them to rotate the images they’re displaying.”

Eight of Clarke’s pieces are available today on the Art Store and The Frame.
