Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced Galaxy S26 FE, the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family and the first in the lineup to launch with One UI 9 — bringing some of the latest premium Galaxy experiences to more users from day one. With enhanced camera capabilities and more context-aware Galaxy AI, it elevates how users capture, create and connect every day. Built around a thin and light design, Galaxy S26 FE carries the iconic Galaxy S experience forward.

“Galaxy S26 FE is purposefully designed to deliver the signature strengths of the Galaxy S series, ensuring that every feature makes a meaningful difference in users’ daily lives,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Packed with beloved Galaxy camera and AI experiences, backed by the latest One UI 9, Galaxy S26 FE comes to life as an ideal choice for those who know exactly what matters most to them.”

Sharp Capture, Effortless Editing

Galaxy S26 FE delivers a more capable camera experience[1] from capture to edit, with an enhanced triple rear camera and advanced image processing that help users capture and refine the moments that matter — whether shooting still scenes or fast-moving action.

My FanCam,[2] first introduced on the latest Galaxy foldables, is now available on Galaxy S26 FE. It automatically tracks a selected person and keeps them centered, intelligently reframing video as the scene moves, so users can turn dynamic moments into social-ready content with less manual editing.

For video, Super Steady[3] with Horizontal Lock — a favourite among Galaxy S26 users — helps capture smoother, more level footage while filming fast-moving activities, travel moments and everyday scenes on the go.

Galaxy S26 FE supports 3x optical zoom, giving users more confidence when shooting from a distance. For selfies, an enhanced 12 MP front camera[4] captures more in every frame, making group shots easier to take.

Nightography a signature of the Galaxy S series, helps users capture bright and clear shots in low light, with detail preserved even in challenging scenes. [5],

Even after the moment has passed, Photo Assist[6] makes it easier to refine images using natural language prompts – turning day into night, adding new elements or restoring missing parts. Plus, edits can be reviewed step by step and revised or undone along the way.

AI Experiences, Delivered Effortlessly

Powered by the latest One UI 9, Galaxy S26 FE brings a range of intuitive, context-aware Galaxy AI[7] experiences that help make daily life easier by adapting to users’ routines to keep them informed and organized. It also helps handle everyday tasks faster and more seamlessly on user’s behalf.

Updated Now Brief,[8] first introduced on the Galaxy S25 series, is even more personalized through customizable briefing cards like weather and wellness insights. Users can now create their own cards with a simple prompt, making Now Brief more relevant throughout the day.

Now Nudge[9] is expanded to select third-party apps and notifications, surfacing timely, relevant suggestions across more of the day — helping users turn insights into action and manage everyday routines with less friction.

Circle to Search with Google[10] now allows users to search for multiple items in an image at once, making it easier to identify products, places, objects and more in a single step.

Built to Keep Up Throughout the Day

Galaxy S26 FE brings meaningful upgrades to the everyday essentials users rely on most — including an intuitive battery and a bright display built for work, entertainment and creativity from morning to night.

A long-lasting 4,900 mAh battery[11] keeps users going while maintaining the slim and refined design of the Galaxy S26 lineup. Users can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes with the 45 W adapter,[12] powering up quickly to stay connected for longer.

A 7-inch[13] AMOLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate provides smooth, immersive visuals with brightness, resolution and clarity for streaming, gaming, browsing and creative work.

Users choosing Galaxy S26 FE as their next device will feel the power of the Galaxy experience from day one. An improved Smart Switch helps users get set up more easily, making the move to Galaxy feel like a warm welcome. Meanwhile, long-term software updates and Samsung Care+ provide added confidence over time.

Upgraded Smart Switch[14] makes moving to Galaxy easier than ever. Whether switching from an Android or iOS device, users can scan a QR code to wirelessly transfer data – from passwords and passkeys to call history, accessibility settings and eSIM data — with no extra apps and less setup time.

Galaxy S26 FE is built to last, with up to years of OS upgrades and security updates,[15] allowing users to enjoy the latest features with confidence for years to come.

For added peace of mind, Samsung Care+[16] offers comprehensive coverage optimized to users’ needs, including tailored benefits that protect the value of the device. With One UI 9, the new Warranty and care settings hub also makes it easy to purchase Samsung Care+, enroll in, access and manage Samsung Care+, along with other device care support.

A 6-month free trial of Google AI Pro[17] will bring expanded AI capabilities and 5 TB of cloud storage valued at USD 19.99 per month.

Together, these enhancements deliver the Galaxy experiences users rely on every day in one thoughtfully crafted device.

Availability

Galaxy S26 FE will be available starting Sept. 4 in select markets in three colours: Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio.[18]

Switching mobile phones used to feel like starting over — transferring photos, messages, and learning a new experience. Yet many continue to make the move to Samsung Galaxy, with nearly half of new users choosing the premium Galaxy S Ultra line. Today, switching has never been easier.

Samsung offers a range of features designed to make switching simple whether you’re exploring Galaxy for the first time, setting up your new device, or just starting to use it day to day.

Try Galaxy – Test the Galaxy Experience Before You Switch

If you’re curious to see what Galaxy is all about, you can start by trying it on the device already in your hand.[1] Try Galaxy lets you preview the latest[2] One UI experience on your current phone. It simulates key features, so you can explore how Galaxy works before making the switch. You can get a feel for what it’s like to navigate, customize, and use a Galaxy device at your own pace.

Smart Switch – Bring Everything You Need with You

There’s nothing more frustrating than powering up your new phone only to realize you can’t find what you need. Smart Switch[3] helps you move your contacts, photos, messages, apps, calendars, settings, and more from your old phone to your new Galaxy device.[4] The improved experience is now faster. It walks you through everything step by step and you have the option to transfer items wirelessly,[5] with a cable, or from a cloud backup. That means you aren’t starting from scratch with your new phone, it’s already set up with the things you rely on, so you can pick up right where you left off.

Quick Share – Share Easily Across Devices

Need to send a file or photo to friends using different devices? Once you’re up and running with Galaxy, you can take advantage of Quick Share, Samsung’s built-in file sharing feature that lets you send photos, videos, and other files seamlessly between Galaxy phones, tablets, and PCs.[6] Plus, share files in full quality using nearby sharing, links, or QR codes across devices and ecosystems.

Quick Share also recognizes nearby Apple devices, making it AirDrop capable[7], for a more seamless photo, video, and file transfer experience. That means you don’t have to think about who you’re sharing with — it just works.

One UI 9 beta introduces several updates across key areas of the mobile experience.

Samsung Notes[1] gains creative new tools, including decorative tapes and a wider variety of pen line styles. Meanwhile, the Contacts app now offers direct access to Creative Studio for creating personalized profile cards without the need to switch between apps.

The updated Quick Panel[3] gives users greater control over its layout. Brightness, sound and the media player are each independently adjustable, with more size options to suit individual preferences.

Accessibility is significantly improved by an adjustable Mouse Key speed that enables smoother cursor control and a combined TalkBack package that brings together features previously offered separately by Google and Samsung.
Beyond high resolution, video trends are shifting toward mood and emotional storytelling. Samsung Electronics debuted the Advanced Professional Video (APV)

Beyond high resolution, video trends are shifting toward mood and emotional storytelling. Samsung Electronics debuted the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec on Galaxy S26 Ultra, laying the groundwork for mobile video production while maintaining image quality and minimizing loss during editing.

In response, Samsung asked a simple question — can anyone create Hollywood-style videos on a Galaxy mobile phone? The answer is the Cinematic Look-Up Table (Cine LUT) feature on the Galaxy S26 series. While the APV codec provides the foundation for cinema-quality video, Cine LUT brings a distinct colour style to the footage.

Cine LUT makes professional-level colour grading — once reserved for experts — accessible to anyone. Samsung collaborated with internal teams and external specialists to bring this feature to life. The Mobile eXperience (MX) Business led final camera implementation, Samsung Research developed core video processing technologies and U5K Imageworks — a colourist studio behind globally recognized productions — helped shape its visual aesthetic.

Following the introduction of the APV codec, which delivers a visually lossless level of image quality, Samsung Newsroom spoke with three key developers behind Cine LUT — Sugon Baek of the Camera Image Quality R&D Group at the MX Business, Bomi Kim of the Reality Media Lab at Samsung Research and Taesik Eom, CEO of U5K Imageworks — to hear the story of its creation.

▲ (From left) Taesik Eom, Bomi Kim and Sugon Baek

Q. What is a LUT? What sets Cine LUT on the Galaxy S26 series apart?

Baek: A LUT is essentially a “map” that transforms one set of colours into a desired look. Unlike conventional filters that simply overlay colour, Cine LUT reinterprets Samsung Log[1] footage to deliver the depth and look of professional filmmaking.

Kim: It’s optimized for Log video. By leveraging its wide gradation,[2] this feature precisely reconstructs colour and brightness to preserve subtle tonal details often lost with conventional filters for richer, more natural depth.

https://img.global.news.samsung.com/ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Samsung-Log-Videos-LUT-Thriller-Blaockbuster-1.mp4

▲ Comparison of Log footage in standard settings and with the Thriller LUT and Blockbuster LUT

https://img.global.news.samsung.com/ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Samsung-Log-Videos-LUT-Coming-of-age-Romance-1.mp4

▲ Comparison of Log footage in standard settings and with the Coming-of-age LUT and Romance LUT

Q. What led to the development of Cine LUT?

Kim: While Galaxy devices supported Log video for high-quality capture, colour grading remained challenging for users. We aimed to make professional-looking results accessible without advanced editing skills.

Baek: We wanted to create an experience that lets users preview cinematic footage at the moment of capture, then apply a LUT and share the video with a single tap in the Gallery.

▲ (From left) Bomi Kim of the Reality Media Lab at Samsung Research and Sugon Baek of the Camera Image Quality R&D Group at MX Business

Q. How did the collaboration with U5K Imageworks begin? How was Cine LUT developed?

Eom: Our collaboration began two years ago with Rec. 709 LUT advisory work for Samsung Log video, where we refined strong colours into more natural tones — an experience that led to Cine LUT. For this project, we developed multiple versions across three intensity levels — neutral, soft and strong — and tested them in diverse scenes, ultimately selecting four core styles.

Kim: Building on U5K’s colour direction, we validated the concepts against quantitative criteria to ensure consistent performance in different environments, refining them through testing until creative intent and technical quality aligned.

▲ Taesik Eom, CEO of U5K Imageworks

Q.What challenges did you face during development?

Kim: We needed a large dataset to validate performance across diverse conditions. Testing in real-world environments — from natural and indoor lighting to day and night — and close collaboration were key to capturing the nuances of colour.

Baek: Maintaining consistent, undistorted colour in different environments was challenging. Through continuous testing, we developed a LUT that balances subjective preference with objective quality.

Q. What was the key consideration in creating looks optimized for mobile phones?

Eom: Ensuring reliable performance in real-world conditions was key. Since lighting, exposure and white balance constantly vary, we focused on creating looks that remain natural in any situation.

Kim: Quality was our top priority. We analyzed each frame and validated performance using tools like colour charts, gray balance and vector scopes.

Q. Why were these four styles chosen for the Galaxy S26 series?

Baek: We analyzed the visual language of popular film genres and identified four representative styles. From the high-contrast Blockbuster to the fresh Coming-of-age, warm Romance and moody Thriller, each colour palette was designed to give everyday scenes an instant cinematic look.

▲ Users can preview Cine LUTs when shooting in Log and easily apply them to recorded footage using editing tools.

Q. Which Cine LUT styles do you recommend for different situations?

Eom: There’s no fixed answer — it depends on the situation. Blockbuster suits high-contrast environments like outdoor and urban scenes; Coming-of-age fits soft, trendy settings like cafes or vlogs; Romance adds warmth to character-driven scenes; and Thriller creates a more striking impression.

Q. What stood out to you in user feedback?

Baek: We expected it might be seen as just another video effect, but the response exceeded expectations. Users quickly recognized that combining Log shooting with Cine LUTs expands creative possibilities beyond simple filters. We’re also seeing more users choose styles based on the scene, with high-quality videos widely shared on social media — and even inspiring new ways to create content.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

Baek: We aim to further establish the Galaxy S26 series as a professional-grade camera. We hope to see more content that resonates with both creators and viewers and will continue to set new standards in video creation.

Kim: As the world changes rapidly, our goal is to identify next-generation technologies. Through close collaboration with business divisions, we will work to bring them into products and deliver innovative experiences to users around the world.

Born from close collaboration, Cine LUT on the Galaxy S26 series transforms everyday moments into cinematic visuals. Beyond its technical achievements, this feature marks an important step toward making video creation more accessible — lowering barriers once reserved for professionals and enabling anyone to express themselves.

Audio Eraser[1] on Galaxy devices reduces unnecessary noise in videos and amplifies desired sounds, enabling a more immersive viewing experience. First introduced for editing saved content on the Galaxy S25 series, the feature has evolved significantly over the generations. Audio Eraser expanded to support playback adjustments within native apps — such as Gallery and Voice Recorder — on Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.

Now, with the Galaxy S26 series,[2] it has reached new heights by supporting real-time audio control on content streamed across various platforms. In this article, we’ll dive deeper into these advancements.

From Fix it Later to Filter it Now

Starting with the Galaxy S26 series, Audio Eraser has evolved into a live audio experience. It enables real-time sound separation and optimization across voices, music and background noise, not only for recorded content but also for over-the-top (OTT) or social media content you are watching. This advancement shifts the focus from post-recording edits to real-time audio management.

By integrating an AI sound engine with advanced sound separation technology, the Galaxy S26 series allows you to instantly adjust and control sound as it occurs. This ensures a clear, immersive listening experience across various streaming platforms, helping to neutralize distracting background noise.

The video below shows how the Galaxy S26 series keeps the sounds you want to hear clear, even in noisy environments.

https://img.global.news.samsung.com/global/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16111332/Samsung-Mobile-Galaxy-S26-series-Audio-Eraser-Galaxy-AI_main1.mp4

March marks Fraud Prevention Month in Canada, a national campaign focused on helping Canadians recognize, reject and report fraud. As more everyday activities move online, from banking and communication to work and collaboration, strong cybersecurity protections are becoming an essential part of preventing fraud and safeguarding sensitive information.

With the launch of the new Galaxy S26 Series smartphones and Galaxy Book6 Series, Samsung continues to strengthen its cybersecurity-first approach across the Galaxy ecosystem, helping Canadians protect personal and professional data in an increasingly connected world.

Together, these trends reflect a broader reality: as digital tools become more connected and intelligent, cybersecurity is playing a growing role in helping prevent fraud and protect personal and business data.

During Fraud Prevention Month, Samsung is highlighting how its latest Galaxy devices are designed with cybersecurity and privacy built into their foundation, helping users stay protected while supporting productivity across work and everyday life.

Cybersecurity Built From the Chip Up

Samsung’s security approach begins at the hardware level. At the center of this protection is Knox Vault[1], a dedicated hardware-based security environment designed to safeguard the most sensitive information stored on a device.

Knox Vault pairs a secure processor with isolated memory to protect sensitive data such as passwords, PINs, biometric credentials and encryption keys. By physically separating this information from the rest of the system, Knox Vault helps defend against both remote cyberattacks and physical tampering.

Because Knox Vault operates independently from the main processor, it works continuously in the background to help protect sensitive information.

For businesses and IT teams, this hardware-backed cybersecurity architecture supports enterprise-grade protection, enabling organizations to confidently deploy Galaxy S26 smartphones and Galaxy Book6 PCs across their workforce.

Privacy and Cybersecurity in the Age of AI

As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into everyday technology, devices are increasingly processing personal and professional data, from sensitive business documents to personal communications. Samsung addresses this challenge through privacy-first Galaxy AI experiences, prioritizing on-device processing whenever possible across both mobile and PC devices, including Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Book6 series[2].

Many AI-powered features across the Galaxy ecosystem can complete tasks locally on the device rather than sending sensitive data to external servers. This approach helps reduce external data exposure while maintaining performance and responsiveness. On the Galaxy Book6, this is especially critical for professionals handling confidential files, enterprise data, and AI-assisted workflows.

Combined with Samsung Knox security, including hardware-backed protection and secure architecture across all devices, this layered approach helps users benefit from powerful AI capabilities while maintaining strong cybersecurity protections across work and personal use.

A New Layer of Privacy for Everyday Use

Cybersecurity also extends beyond protecting data from digital threats, it includes safeguarding information in everyday environments.

Samsung’s Privacy Display[3] innovation on the Galaxy S26 Ultra helps protect users from “shoulder surfing,” where sensitive information on a screen may be visible to others nearby.

Developed with more than five years of engineering and testing, Privacy Display allows users to customize visibility settings depending on their needs. Users can activate privacy protection when entering passwords, accessing sensitive apps or reviewing confidential information, while notification settings can also be adjusted to limit what appears on screen.

Secure Productivity Across the Galaxy Ecosystem

The Galaxy S26 Series, including Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, combines powerful mobile performance with Samsung’s defense-grade Knox security platform, helping users securely manage communications, financial information and work applications.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Book6 Series, including Galaxy Book6, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 Ultra, brings Samsung’s cybersecurity-first approach to the PC experience. Designed for productivity, collaboration and hybrid work, the series integrates Knox-based protections to help safeguard business data, credentials and sensitive files.

Together, these devices support Samsung’s broader Knox Matrix vision, extending cybersecurity protections across connected Galaxy devices and helping users stay protected throughout their digital ecosystem.

[1] Samsung account login required for certain AI features. Actual UX/UI may differ. Samsung Knox Vault availability may vary by model including but not limited to Galaxy S series, Galaxy A series, Galaxy Tab S series and more.
[2] Intelligence settings preventing server access will limit the functionality of some AI features. Some Galaxy AI features require cloud data processing in order to operate.

[3] Privacy Display feature controls the screen’s viewing angle to limit peripheral vision and must be activated in Settings. Activation for specific apps also available through the Settings. Some changes in image quality may occur outside the viewing angle. Some information may still be visible to others depending on the viewing environment, such as angle or brightness.

Samsung Galaxy is the device of choice for creators of all kinds looking to shoot eye-catching, professional-grade content — and with Galaxy S26 Ultra that experience is getting even better.

Samsung developed its Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. as an open standard for professional video creation so the technology could be available to as many users as possible. It took years of close collaboration between the two companies to make APV a reality on the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[1] chipset that powers Galaxy S26 Ultra. APV is the latest example of Samsung’s commitment to put the user experience first by collaborating with other industry leaders.

What is Samsung’s Advanced Professional Video (APV) Codec on Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first Galaxy device to support APV, enabling high-quality video files that use your device storage more efficiently. For anyone who wants pro-level quality with the convenience and portability of shooting video on mobile, APV on Galaxy S26 Ultra is a game changer.

How does APV Work?

APV makes for easy editing and creative flexibility. Now you can capture video content on your Galaxy device that behaves like cinematic professional camera footage when it’s time to edit — maintaining video quality even after repeated edits. Supporting up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second!

How to Enable APV on Galaxy S26 Ultra

Navigate to Camera > Settings > Video Format > APV

Choose preferred APV control APV HDR or APV Log
