March marks Fraud Prevention Month in Canada, a national campaign focused on helping Canadians recognize, reject and report fraud. As more everyday activities move online, from banking and communication to work and collaboration, strong cybersecurity protections are becoming an essential part of preventing fraud and safeguarding sensitive information.

With the launch of the new Galaxy S26 Series smartphones and Galaxy Book6 Series, Samsung continues to strengthen its cybersecurity-first approach across the Galaxy ecosystem, helping Canadians protect personal and professional data in an increasingly connected world.

Together, these trends reflect a broader reality: as digital tools become more connected and intelligent, cybersecurity is playing a growing role in helping prevent fraud and protect personal and business data.

During Fraud Prevention Month, Samsung is highlighting how its latest Galaxy devices are designed with cybersecurity and privacy built into their foundation, helping users stay protected while supporting productivity across work and everyday life.

Cybersecurity Built From the Chip Up

Samsung’s security approach begins at the hardware level. At the center of this protection is Knox Vault[1], a dedicated hardware-based security environment designed to safeguard the most sensitive information stored on a device.

Knox Vault pairs a secure processor with isolated memory to protect sensitive data such as passwords, PINs, biometric credentials and encryption keys. By physically separating this information from the rest of the system, Knox Vault helps defend against both remote cyberattacks and physical tampering.

Because Knox Vault operates independently from the main processor, it works continuously in the background to help protect sensitive information.

For businesses and IT teams, this hardware-backed cybersecurity architecture supports enterprise-grade protection, enabling organizations to confidently deploy Galaxy S26 smartphones and Galaxy Book6 PCs across their workforce.

Privacy and Cybersecurity in the Age of AI

As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into everyday technology, devices are increasingly processing personal and professional data, from sensitive business documents to personal communications. Samsung addresses this challenge through privacy-first Galaxy AI experiences, prioritizing on-device processing whenever possible across both mobile and PC devices, including Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Book6 series[2].

Many AI-powered features across the Galaxy ecosystem can complete tasks locally on the device rather than sending sensitive data to external servers. This approach helps reduce external data exposure while maintaining performance and responsiveness. On the Galaxy Book6, this is especially critical for professionals handling confidential files, enterprise data, and AI-assisted workflows.

Combined with Samsung Knox security, including hardware-backed protection and secure architecture across all devices, this layered approach helps users benefit from powerful AI capabilities while maintaining strong cybersecurity protections across work and personal use.

A New Layer of Privacy for Everyday Use

Cybersecurity also extends beyond protecting data from digital threats, it includes safeguarding information in everyday environments.

Samsung’s Privacy Display[3] innovation on the Galaxy S26 Ultra helps protect users from “shoulder surfing,” where sensitive information on a screen may be visible to others nearby.

Developed with more than five years of engineering and testing, Privacy Display allows users to customize visibility settings depending on their needs. Users can activate privacy protection when entering passwords, accessing sensitive apps or reviewing confidential information, while notification settings can also be adjusted to limit what appears on screen.

Secure Productivity Across the Galaxy Ecosystem

The Galaxy S26 Series, including Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, combines powerful mobile performance with Samsung’s defense-grade Knox security platform, helping users securely manage communications, financial information and work applications.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Book6 Series, including Galaxy Book6, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 Ultra, brings Samsung’s cybersecurity-first approach to the PC experience. Designed for productivity, collaboration and hybrid work, the series integrates Knox-based protections to help safeguard business data, credentials and sensitive files.

Together, these devices support Samsung’s broader Knox Matrix vision, extending cybersecurity protections across connected Galaxy devices and helping users stay protected throughout their digital ecosystem.

[1] Samsung account login required for certain AI features. Actual UX/UI may differ. Samsung Knox Vault availability may vary by model including but not limited to Galaxy S series, Galaxy A series, Galaxy Tab S series and more. Samsung Knox provides business users with a robust mobile security solution. https://www.samsungknox.com/en/knox-platform/knox-certifications

[2] Intelligence settings preventing server access will limit the functionality of some AI features. Some Galaxy AI features require cloud data processing in order to operate.

[3] Privacy Display feature controls the screen’s viewing angle to limit peripheral vision and must be activated in Settings. Activation for specific apps also available through the Settings. Some changes in image quality may occur outside the viewing angle. Some information may still be visible to others depending on the viewing environment, such as angle or brightness.

Samsung Galaxy is the device of choice for creators of all kinds looking to shoot eye-catching, professional-grade content — and with Galaxy S26 Ultra that experience is getting even better.

Samsung developed its Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. as an open standard for professional video creation so the technology could be available to as many users as possible. It took years of close collaboration between the two companies to make APV a reality on the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[1] chipset that powers Galaxy S26 Ultra. APV is the latest example of Samsung’s commitment to put the user experience first by collaborating with other industry leaders.

What is Samsung’s Advanced Professional Video (APV) Codec on Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Now you see it, now you don’t. This isn’t some magic trick; you should be in control of what people see on your device. With the industry’s first built-in Privacy Display[1] on Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can decide when you want a clear view from all angles and when you want extra protection from prying eyes.

What is Privacy Display?

Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra is a new kind of personal protection which is built into the device and allows you to adjust the visibility of content on your screen. When enabled, visuals are clear for the user while limiting what others can see when looking at the screen from the side — perfect when you’re traveling or in other public places.

Unlike some aftermarket stick-on privacy screen covers, the Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra offers protection without compromising the viewing experience during everyday use.

How does Privacy Display work?

Integrated directly into the display hardware, Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra controls how the screen’s pixels disperse light, limiting the visibility from side angles when turned on, while preserving the full display experience from any direction when it’s off. This hardware-first approach delivers a clearer and more consistent experience than a traditional privacy screen protector which permanently reduces brightness and clarity and can degrade touch responsiveness.

It’s also customizable. You can decide when it turns on, like when entering sensitive password information, or even limit visibility for specific types of content like popup notifications — it all comes down to your personal preference.

How to Use Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the continued expansion of satellite communication capabilities for select Galaxy smartphones — including the Galaxy S26 series — through ongoing partnerships with leading select global telecommunications operators in North America[1]and Japan[2]. This expansion reflects Samsung’s continued commitment to enhancing user safety and providing seamless mobile experiences through next-generation connectivity — particularly in the era of AI emerging as everyday infrastructure.

“Samsung has a rich legacy in wireless communication technologies, and we strive to be at the forefront of innovation in this space through open collaboration with global partners,” said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “As satellite connectivity becomes an important part of the mobile landscape, we are committed to ensuring Galaxy users have reliable access to communication, especially when they need it most.”

As AI is becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, the importance of reliable connectivity grows more than ever. Designed to support emergency response and essential communication when traditional mobile networks are unavailable, satellite communication is taking on increased significance within commercial mobile networks by providing stable and more seamless network services. Since 2025, Samsung has supported satellite communication on select Galaxy flagship smartphones and Galaxy A series devices. Samsung is also continuously expanding the number of supported models, strengthening the underlying infrastructure that enables Galaxy devices to deliver a truly natural and seamless AI experience.

With capabilities rolling out in phases based on regional network availability and regulatory requirements, Samsung will continue working with network operators and satellite providers to ensure users have reliable access to critical communication tools at crucial moments. This will enable more Galaxy users to access satellite-based messaging and data services — in addition to emergency assistance — in areas where traditional mobile networks are unavailable.

Expanding Satellite Connectivity Through Regional Partnerships

In the U.S., T911, text and data services have been supported in collaboration with T-Satellite with Starlink by T-Mobile since 2025 on select Galaxy flagship and Galaxy A series models released after the Galaxy S21 series. Meanwhile, Verizon offers eSOS and text services on all Galaxy flagship models following the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung is also working with AT&T to support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

In Europe, in collaboration with Virgin Media O2, satellite communication will now be available on select Galaxy smartphones. Joint trials will begin in March with MasOrange in Spain. Samsung is also working with Vodafone to support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

In Japan, satellite communication-based text, data functions and the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System (ETWS) have been provided on Galaxy S22 models and later flagship and Galaxy A series devices through KDDI since 2025. Additionally, in collaboration with SoftBank and DOCOMO, satellite communication features will be available on select Galaxy flagship and Galaxy A series devices starting in 2026. Samsung is also working with Rakuten Mobile to gradually support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung is also working with more telecommunications operators to expand support across other Galaxy product categories.

[1] Satellite communication features may begin rolling out in the United States and Canada in accordance with each carrier’s rollout plan. Supported carriers include Verizon, T-Mobile, and Rogers. Device compatibility and supported features may vary by model, network and market. Availability of satellite communication may vary depending on the OS/One UI version.

[2] Satellite communication features may begin rolling out in Japan in accordance with each carrier’s rollout plan.

Samsung Canada has officially launched the Annual Upgrade Program, a new direct-to-consumer purchasing option designed to make it easier and more affordable for customers to upgrade to the latest Galaxy devices on their own terms.

Now available nationwide, the Annual Upgrade Program gives customers the flexibility to upgrade their Galaxy smartphone every year or every two years by paying only a portion of the device’s value through simple monthly payments, without interest or fees.

A Smarter Way to Upgrade, Without the Carrier Commitment

The Annual Upgrade Program was created to reflect how Canadians upgrade their smartphones today, offering a more flexible and accessible way to move to a new Galaxy device when the time feels right.

By purchasing directly from Samsung, customers can now enjoy:

Low monthly payments

The freedom to bring their own data plan

Clear upgrade options at the end of each term

The program puts control in the hands of Galaxy owners, making it easier to decide when and how to upgrade, helping people stay connected with the latest technology.

How the Annual Upgrade Program Works

You can enroll in the Annual Upgrade Program[i] by i) having a valid Flexiti Card and ii) choosing the Annual Upgrade Program at the product page or at checkout of the eligible Galaxy Phone both online through Samsung.com or the Samsung Shop App. Financing is handled through Samsung’s trusted partner, Flexiti, so everything stays simple and secure.

Two flexible options are available, depending on upgrade preferences:

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Galaxy S26 series, powered by the most intuitive, proactive and adaptive Galaxy AI[1] experiences yet and designed to simplify the tasks people do on their phones every day. From managing plans and finding information to capturing and refining content, Galaxy S26 reduces the effort and number of steps required to get things done. As Samsung’s third-generation AI phones, Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra handle complex tasks in the background, allowing users to focus on results rather than how the technology works.

The Galaxy S26 series was engineered with Samsung’s most advanced capabilities working together as one: incredible performance, a top-tier camera system and Galaxy AI. This provides a strong foundation that gives Galaxy S26 users the confidence to depend on their phone throughout the day without compromising security or privacy.

Building on Samsung’s decades of innovation in display technology, Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces the world’s first built-in Privacy Display for mobile phones to unlock a new class of display experiences and reinforce Samsung’s commitment to privacy. Galaxy S26 Ultra also delivers a customized chipset and upgraded thermal management that enable faster and more powerful AI — all wrapped up in the slimmest Ultra yet.

Together, these capabilities allow the Galaxy S26 series to deliver the most powerful Galaxy experience yet.

“We believe AI should be something people can depend on every day, designed to work consistently for everyone and without the need for expertise,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy S26 series, we focused on making AI feel effortless, working quietly in the background so people can focus on what matters.”

Powerful Performance Designed Around Everyday Use

Engineered for all-day performance, the Galaxy S26 series is built on the most powerful hardware ever on a Galaxy S series, powered by a customized chipset. Across the line-up, the Galaxy S26 series is engineered for AI performance, power efficiency and thermal management, ensuring demanding tasks run smoothly and consistently, so users can rely on their device when it matters.

On Galaxy S26 Ultra, a customized mobile processor — Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[2] — delivers the best performance ever in the Galaxy S26 class with significant gains across CPU, GPU, and NPU to support faster, smoother experiences that keep up with the user throughout the day.

A CPU performance increase of up to 19%[3] means Galaxy S26 Ultra responds more quickly and handles complex workloads intelligently, even when multiple tasks are running at once. A 39% improvement in NPU performance powers always-on Galaxy AI features that run seamlessly, allowing users to move between tasks smoothly. A 24% boost in GPU performance delivers richer visuals and more fluid gameplay.

To sustain this level of performance, Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a redesigned Vapor Chamber with thermal interface material positioned along the sides of the processor, allowing heat to spread more efficiently across a larger surface area. This improves[4] heat dissipation to keep the device cool and consistent, even during demanding activities such as gaming and video capture. To support all-day use, Galaxy S26 Ultra also brings Super Fast Charging 3.0, minimizing downtime by reaching up to 75% charge in just 30 minutes[5].

Embedded into the processor, Samsung’s proprietary technologies enhance visual performance. ProScaler[6] improves image scaling so photos and videos appear richer and clearer at a glance by sharpening text and fine detail while smoothing textures. Additionally, Samsung’s mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) delivers more subtle and lifelike colours thanks to image processing with four times the precision compared to the previous generation.

Taken together, these advancements deliver dependable all-day performance, making every action feel effortless.

Galaxy’s Cutting-Edge Camera System

The Galaxy S26 series brings the same focus on intuitive interaction to creativity and productivity, delivered through Galaxy’s cutting-edge camera system. With an approach that integrates capturing stunning photos and videos, editing and sharing into a single, seamless experience, creativity feels more natural and accessible even without professional tools or technical knowledge.

On Galaxy S26 Ultra, wider camera apertures[7] allow more light to reach the sensor, delivering clearer photos with richer details in low-light conditions, even when zoomed in. Enhanced Nightography Video[8] keeps footage clearer and more vibrant even in dim scenes, whether capturing concerts indoors or recording moments around a campfire after sunset. Video capture is further enhanced with upgraded Super Steady[9] capabilities, which add a horizontal lock option for greater stability and to make consistent framing easier to achieve, even with bumpy trails or fast-paced activities. Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first Galaxy device to support APV, a new professional-grade video codec designed to deliver efficient compression for high-quality production workflows. Optimized for advanced creators, it ensures excellent video quality that stays true even after repeated editing.

Improvements to the AI ISP[10] now extend to the selfie camera, capturing more natural skin tones and finer detail in mixed lighting.

Editing photos and videos is just as easy and straightforward, with AI-powered tools built into familiar workflows so users can make changes quickly and unlock their creativity without design expertise.

With the upgraded Photo Assist[11] suite, users can simply describe what they want to change in their own words. Changing the scene from day to night is just a matter of asking. It can also add to images and restore missing parts of objects like a bite taken out of a cake. Personal details, such as a spill on clothing, can also be cleaned up with Galaxy AI’s new ability to change outfits in photos. Edits can now be made continuously, reviewed step by step, and easily adjusted or undone along the way, making the process feel fluid rather than final.

Creative Studio[12] builds on this simplicity by bringing creation and customization into one integrated space, making it easy to act on ideas when inspiration strikes. Starting from a sketch, photo or prompt, users can quickly turn ideas into polished visuals — from stickers and invitations to personalized wallpapers — and refine or share them without switching tools or interrupting creative flow.

The Galaxy S26 series also simplifies frequent visual tasks with AI-powered tools like Document Scan, which removes distortions and distractions such as creases or fingers to deliver clean scans instantly. Multiple images can be organized automatically into a single PDF, making it easy to digitize receipts, forms or notes.

Our Most Intuitive Galaxy AI Experience Yet

The Galaxy S26 series is designed to make frequently used experiences feel straightforward and user-friendly, with Galaxy AI reducing the steps between intent and action. It works more proactively and seamlessly on the user’s behalf based on context, surfacing the right support at the right moment and automating tasks with minimal manual input. As the technology handles tasks in the background, users can focus on the results.

With Now Nudge[13], timely and relevant suggestions help users stay in the flow without being distracted. If a friend asks for photos from a recent trip, Galaxy S26 automatically suggests photos from the Gallery, removing the need to search through albums or switch between apps. When receiving a message about a meeting, Galaxy S26 can recognize related Calendar entries and check for conflicts.

On the Galaxy S26 series, Now Brief[14] has become more proactive and personalized[15]. It brings up timely reminders for important events – from reservations to travel updates – based on personal context, helping users stay organized throughout the day.

Searching for information is also easier than ever. Circle to Search with Google[16] on the Galaxy S26 series has been upgraded with enhanced multi-object recognition, so users can now explore more deeply on multiple parts of an image at once. If users spot a look they love, the feature also identifies everything from the jacket to the shoes, all in one search.

Galaxy S26 series features an upgraded Bixby[17] as a conversational device agent, making it more intuitive and easier than ever to interact with Galaxy devices. Users can navigate their devices and adjust settings using natural language, without the need for exact terminology or commands.

Alongside Bixby, Galaxy S26 series integrates other AI agents, including Gemini and Perplexity. Once set up, tasks can be completed with a single button press or voice prompt. Galaxy S26 can also handle multi-step tasks in the background, streamlining the process on the user’s behalf. For example, with Gemini, booking a taxi[18] is as simple as asking, reviewing the details and tapping confirm. These agents support tasks such as searching and carrying out complex tasks seamlessly across apps through natural interaction.

Together, these proactive, personalized and adaptive experiences lay the foundation for more agentic AI experiences — setting the stage for Galaxy devices to become trusted companions that understand and anticipate user needs.

Layers of Protection in the Age of AI

As mobile experiences become more personalized thanks to AI, protecting user privacy becomes even more critical. Samsung builds protection into every layer of Galaxy S26, keeping personal data secure while giving users transparency and control over how their information is used.

Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces privacy at the pixel level with the mobile industry’s first built-in Privacy Display[19], a breakthrough in display technology that fundamentally changes how privacy can be protected on a phone. Designed for everyday situations such as commuting on transit, cafés and shared environments, Privacy Display goes beyond — hardware and software working as one to protect privacy without compromising the viewing experience.

By controlling how pixels disperse light, the display keeps content clear, bright and comfortable for the user in everyday use, while limiting what others can see. Unlike traditional stick-on privacy films, Galaxy’s integrated Privacy Display preserves full viewing quality from all directions when off, and limits visibility for others from side viewing angles when activated, even when switching between portrait and landscape orientation.

Users can customize Privacy Display when activated to adjust privacy levels depending on the situation. Partial Screen Privacy intelligently limits visibility for notification pop-ups, while Maximum Privacy Protection further obscures side views for added discretion, all with minimal impact on power or usability.

The Galaxy S26 series also brings smarter software safeguards that work quietly in the background. AI-powered Call Screening[20] identifies unknown callers and summarizes intent, making it easier to safely manage calls. Privacy Alerts use machine learning to proactively notify users in real time when apps with device admin privileges unnecessarily attempt to access sensitive data, such as precise location, call logs or contacts. These alerts help users quickly understand when apps are seeking deeper access, so they can manage permissions with greater clarity and control.

Private Album, built directly into Gallery, lets users easily hide selected photos and videos without creating a separate folder or signing into a Samsung Account. To stay ahead of emerging threats, Galaxy S26 also extends Samsung’s innovation in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to critical system processes, including software verification and firmware protection, strengthening device integrity for the future.

New updates to Knox Matrix further strengthen protection across connected Galaxy devices, adding PQC-enabled end-to-end encryption for more services such as eSIM transfers and clearer visibility into firmware update status across the ecosystem through Security Status of Your Devices.

These experiences are supported by Samsung Knox, the multi-layer security platform that protects Galaxy devices. For on-device Galaxy AI, Personal Data Engine (PDE) enables context-aware, personalized AI experiences. To keep this process safe, Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) encrypts each app’s data, while Knox Vault adds a physical layer of protection that isolates sensitive data inside its own secure hardware. Together with settings that let users choose how AI features operate, Galaxy S26 combines hardware and software to deliver a comprehensive, system-wide approach designed to keep personal data protected.

These updates build on Galaxy’s existing security and privacy portfolio which includes Auto Blocker, Theft Protection, Private Sharing, Secure Wi-Fi and more. These layers of protection are designed to give users greater transparency, choice and control through Samsung’s continued mobile security innovation in the age of AI.

Galaxy S26’s ease of use continues even when the phone is out of reach. The new Galaxy Buds4 series is a natural companion to Galaxy S26, extending everyday experiences beyond the phone while delivering rich and immersive Hi-Fi sound. When Galaxy S26 is paired with Galaxy Buds4, interactions can continue naturally in moments when using hands isn’t practical. Users can activate AI agents[21] with their voices, manage calls through simple Head Gestures[22] on Buds4 Pro, and stay connected without breaking their flow.
