Angesichts des jüngsten Anstiegs der Energiepreise und der zunehmenden Notwendigkeit für umweltfreundliche Smart-Home-Lösungen, bietet Samsung mit SmartThings Energy eine Lösung, den Energieverbrauch im Haus eigenständig zu kontrollieren und damit intelligentere, grünere Entscheidungen zu treffen.

SmartThings Cooking hilft dabei, ganz neue, kreative Zubereitungsideen zu entwickeln. Das intelligente Service-Tool entwickelt eigenständige Vorschläge für die Erstellung wöchentlicher Speisepläne. Sie sind sowohl auf die spezifischen Geschmäcker und Ernährungsbedürfnisse der Bewohner, als auch auf die jeweils verfügbaren Zutaten zugeschnitten. Sobald der Speiseplan steht, stellt SmartThings Cooking bei Bedarf eine Verbindung zu den verschiedenen Lebensmittelhändlern her, um noch fehlende Zutaten zu bestellen. Beispielsweise erkennt Bespoke Jet Bot AI+, wenn das Haustier beim Staubsaugen in Sichtweite kommt. Dann startet die Aufnahme, und das Video wird direkt an das Smartphone gesendet. Zumal verantwortungsbewusste Verbraucher mittlerweile auch auf eine umweltschonende Reinigung der Kleidungsstücke achten.

SmartThings Clothing Care empfiehlt optimale Waschzyklen für ausgewählte Kleidungsstücke, basierend auf Materialart, Nutzungsverhalten, Jahreszeit und vielem mehr. SmartThings Clothing Care ist ein umfassendes intelligentes Garderoben-Management-System, das zudem nicht nur den Waschmittelbestand überwacht, sondern bei Bedarf auch Nachschub beim Online-Händler bestellen kann.

Über SmartThings kommunizieren auch der Bespoke AirDresser und die intelligente Waschmaschine miteinander, um Informationen auszutauschen sowie personalisierte Zyklen und Einstellungen vorzuschlagen. Auto Cycle Link gleicht dann die Einstellungen des Trockners mit den korrespondierenden Einstellungen der Waschmaschine ab, damit die Kleidung – auf die jeweilige Kleidungsart abgestimmt – konsistent behandelt wird.

Neue Technologien sollen unser Leben vor allem einfacher machen. Da jedoch die Möglichkeiten, die uns Geräte wie Smartphones, PCs, Haushaltsgeräte und Geräte des Internet of Things mittlerweile bieten immer vielfältiger werden, wird auch die Bedienung mitunter komplexer. Nutzer können oftmals nicht alle angebotenen Funktionen nutzen und auch die Designer von Nutzeroberflächen müssen Kompromisse eingehen, damit die vielen Funktionen auf einen kleinen Bildschirm passen. Das führt dazu, dass Nutzer mit jedem technologischen Fortschritt immer mehr dazu lernen müssen.

Stoßen wir also an die Grenzen der Interaktion zwischen Mensch und Maschine? Für diese Herausforderung verfolgt Samsung seinen eigenen Lösungsansatz: Anstatt die Menschen lernen zu lassen, wie ein Gerät mit der Welt interagiert, muss sich das Gerät seinem Nutzer anpassen. Die Schnittstelle muss natürlich und intuitiv gestaltet sein, damit der Umgang so leicht wie möglich bleibt – egal, wie viele neue Funktionen es gibt. Samsung arbeitet dazu mit künstlicher Intelligenz, sodass die Schnittstelle ständig dazulernen kann.

Aus diesem Anspruch heraus ist Bixby entstanden. Bixby wird eine neue und intelligente Schnittstelle auf unseren Geräten sein und ein tiefergehendes Erlebnis bieten.

Nachfolgend stellen wir drei Eigenschaften vor, die Bixby kennzeichnen. Allerdings bitten wir um Verständnis, dass Bixby Voice nur für bestimmte Regionen und dort nur für bestimmte Sprachen zur Verfügung steht. Derzeit wird weder die Region Deutschland noch die Sprache Deutsch unterstützt. Die Hauptfunktionen von Bixby, wie Vision, Home und Reminder, werden mit dem globalen Marktstart des Samsung Galaxy S8 verfügbar sein. Bixby Voice steht nur für bestimmte Regionen und dort nur für bestimmte Sprachen zur Verfügung. Folgende Regionen und Sprachen werden aktuell unterstützt: Südkorea (Koreanisch). In den USA wird Bixby Voice auf dem Galaxy S8 im Frühling verfügbar sein. Wir arbeiten daran, künftig weitere Regionen und Sprachen zu unterstützen. Je nach Region sind zudem trotz Sprachunterstützung einige Funktionen möglicherweise nicht verfügbar.

1. Vollständigkeit
Manche Sprachsteuerungen unterstützen meist nur einige wenige Funktionen einer Applikation. Daher weiß der Nutzer nie, was per Sprachsteuerung funktioniert und was nicht. Mit Bixby ist das anders: Es unterstützt nahezu jede Funktion einer Applikation mit herkömmlicher Interaktionsart (z.B. via Berührung des Displays) und ist damit sehr nutzerfreundlich. Diese beinahe lückenlose Unterstützung macht es für den Nutzer auch einfach einzuschätzen, was sich via Sprachsteuerung regeln lässt.

2. Erkennen von Zusammenhängen
Wenn eine durch Bixby unterstützte App aufgerufen wird, kann Bixby jederzeit gestartet werden. Bixby weiß sofort, in welchem Kontext es sich befindet und erkennt, welchen Arbeitsschritt die App gerade durchführt und welche Art der Interaktion, z.B. Touch- oder Sprachsteuerung, am sinnvollsten ist. Dadurch erlaubt Bixby den Nutzern problemlos zwischen Verwendungsarten zu wechseln und diese miteinander zu verknüpfen ohne dass der Arbeitsfluss gestört wird.

Die meisten der bestehenden Assistenten geben den Usern vor, wie sie zu benutzen sind. Wenn zwischen den Interaktionsarten, also entweder Sprachbefehlen oder Touch-Steuerung, gewechselt wird, muss meist der ganze Auftrag neu gestartet werden oder er wird gar nicht erst verstanden.

3. Kognitive Toleranz
Mit steigender Anzahl an möglichen vorgegebenen Sprachbefehlen wird es für Benutzer immer schwieriger, sich den genauen Wortlaut dieser Befehle zu merken. Manche Assistenten funktionieren aber nur dann, wenn Befehle in einer bestimmten Art erteilt werden. Bixby ist nicht darauf limitiert: Es kann auch Befehle mit unvollständigen Informationen verstehen und den Sprachbefehl dann so genau wie möglich ausführen. Erst danach fragt es nach den fehlenden Informationen und erledigt den Auftrag somit schrittweise. Das kann die Nutzung natürlich und einfach gestalten.

Neue Bedienungsformen setzen meist einen Wandel im Nutzerverhalten voraus. Mit einer neuen Oberfläche zu arbeiten, kann Nutzer frustrieren und sie dazu bringen, zu alten Gewohnheiten zurückzukehren (z.B. zur Touch-Oberfläche). Gleichzeitig kann eine neue Sprachsteuerung nur dann erfolgreich sein, wenn sie reibungslos funktioniert und dem Nutzer wirkliche Vorteile bietet. Bixby soll eben diese reibungslose Verwendung möglich machen. Die mit dieser Sprachsteuerung ausgestatteten Smartphones lassen sich einfach und intuitiv steuern.

Ein gutes Beispiel dafür: Wenn Nutzer sich morgens regelmäßig über das Wetter und die Nachrichten informieren wollen, werden diese von Bixby als Erstes angezeigt. Abends werden andere Informationen und Apps wichtiger wie der Wecker oder Fitness-Apps, die die Schrittzahl anzeigen – genau diese Informationen hält Bixby dann bereit.

Es gab viel Aufregung und viele Spekulationen darüber, was Samsung mit dem Launch seines neuen Smartphone-Flaggschiffs präsentieren wird. Vor allem, wenn man die Fortschritte im Bereich der künstlichen Intelligenz bedenkt. Samsung hat die Vision, die Schnittstelle zwischen Mensch und Maschine zu revolutionieren. Aber diese Vision lässt sich nicht über Nacht umsetzen. Hohe Ansprüche brauchen Zeit.

Bixby ist ein erster Schritt, neue Möglichkeiten zu entdecken, wie Verbraucher mit ihrem Smartphone interagieren können. Mit dem Launch seines neuen Smartphone-Flaggschiffs werden viele vorinstallierte Apps Bixby unterstützen, weitere werden mit der Zeit folgen. Es ist außerdem geplant, ein Entwicklungstool zu veröffentlichen, mit dem Entwickler ihre Apps und Services an Bixby anpassen können.

Bixby wird, beginnend mit den Samsung Smartphones, schrittweise auf allen Samsung-Geräten eingesetzt werden. In Zukunft wird es möglich sein, die Klimaanlage oder den Fernseher via Bixby zu steuern. Da Bixby Teil der Cloud sein wird, können sich Geräte mit Internetverbindung und der Fähigkeit, Sprachkommandos zu empfangen, einfach mit Bixby verbinden. Damit kann sich Bixby von einer Smartphone-Oberfläche zu einer Schnittstelle für das gesamte Leben entwickeln.

Using these APIs and tools, companies can securely collect, store, and act on any data from any connected device or cloud service in order to quickly bring new IoT solutions and services to market, tap into new revenue streams, and grow their business.

Entertainment Services & Virtual Reality:

Virtual reality was another key topic at the Samsung Developer Conference this year. Following the popularity of the Gear VR powered by Oculus, Samsung continued to expand its VR leadership with the announcement of the Gear 360 in February. Samsung also introduced an array of developer tools for TVs including the Samsung Smart TV SDK, Samsung TV Toast which enables developer to export their codes to multiple TV platforms, and Samsung Checkout on TV, a new Smart TV optimized payment solution.

Security Signature Services:

Samsung Knox, the award winning security platform, is expanding to include more devices and increase interoperability. Samsung Knox will now serve as the foundation for all enterprise solutions and services including healthcare, automotive, finance and other segments. With this evolution, Knox will now cover mid-tier devices, and be embedded on wearable devices such as the Samsung Gear S2. Knox will also be extended beyond the Android operating system to include Samsung’s Tizen operating system, allowing millions more Samsung device owners to benefit from defense-grade security, while capitalizing on a networked world to improve productivity.

Citizenship Showcase: Young Coders from around the World

As part of its commitment to STEM education and inspiring young people in coding, Samsung organizes competitions and coding initiatives around the world. At SDC 2016, Samsung invited six young software developers from the United States, Argentina and Korea to present their ideas and meet with professional developers. :

From the United States, two winners of the 2015 U.S. Mobile App Academy presented their respective app creations: Med Kid, which aims to create a fun way to incentivize children who are seriously ill to keep track of and take their medications, and Code Clash, a game that teaches kids coding and helps solve the disparity of available engineers in the specific field of JAVA programming. Three students from Argentina and a student from Korea also attended to each demonstrate their winning mobile apps project.

And while the company continues to enlist the help of external developers, it is also making use of talent within its own employee base through its five C-Lab projects. C-Lab enables Samsung employees to pursuing their own creative business ideas.

Dr. Hong, the President of Samsung SDS and the Head of its solution business, described Samsung’s devices and components, platforms and security solutions as the key ingredients that “bring ‘smarts’ to the everyday objects in our lives.”

During the keynote, Samsung presented new components like an ultra-thin and flexible high-capacity battery and the Bio-Processor, a powerful but extremely small all-in-one healthcare chip.

Dr. Hong also demonstrated the rapidly growing range of Samsung devices and appliances that are equipped to be true IoT hubs for the Smart Home of today, by working with the SmartThings ecosystem. Samsung’s new range of 2016 SUHD TVs, for example, can all be used as IoT hubs. The new Samsung Family Hub refrigerator, with its large 21.5-inch LED display, can be the center of grocery management, family sharing of notes and pictures and entertainment, and even makes it possible to check on your mobile device what’s in the fridge – thanks to its inbuilt cameras.

Dr. Hong said Samsung’s IoT strategy was to promote “openness, interoperability, and cross-industry collaboration”, because they were the underpinnings of IoT success.

Seamless connectivity of IoT devices was another important factor to ensure a good IoT experience, said Dr. Hong. Samsung is working with its industry partners in the Open Interconnect Consortium to build a truly open connectivity framework called IoTivity.

Samsung believes in an Open Partnership approach, and therefore presented another industry-first: the Samsung Smart Home Cloud API, which makes it possible to integrate any IoT-ready Samsung household appliance into any IoT ecosystem.

Focus on Security

The Internet of Things “is generating enormous amounts of data”, said Dr. Hong, which makes it crucial to develop “incredibly strong security solutions”. However, said Dr. Hong, “there can be only one owner of IoT data: our customers.”

He described Samsung’s progress in expanding its security platform for mobile devices, Samsung KNOX, and presented an equally best-in-class security solution for Smart TVs. Just like KNOX, this smart security solution provides protection that is hardwired into devices and appliances; it will first be used to make Samsung’s 2016 Smart TVs safe and ready for the Internet of Things.

Partnerships to Deliver IoT Value

Joined by partners from many different industries, Samsung showed how the Internet of Things is ready to bring immediate value to our lives. Dr. Hong and top executives from Microsoft corp.’s Windows and Devices Group, Goldman Sachs, BMW, serviced residence owner and operator the Ascott Limited, materials science firm Corning, and energy solutions provider Samsung SDI, demonstrated how Samsung devices and platforms can provide a much smarter environment to live and work in.

With a broad range of devices, platforms and services – from Smart Mobility and Samsung Pay to healthcare solutions using the Bio-Processor, and solutions that bring the Internet of Things to Smart Cities and Smart Nations – Samsung is ready to inject smarts in all aspects of our world. Samsung Electronics unveiled its vision for 2016 during its press conference, at CES 2016. The company underlined the importance of innovation that makes a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives, and showcased its focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) as an open platform, with SmartThings technology. Samsung also revealed the new bezel-less curved SUHD TVs with Quantum dot displays, the connected Family Hub refrigerator, its newest smartwatch – the Gear S2 Premium, and a large screen Windows tablet, the Galaxy TabPro S.

“Samsung has continuously worked to help people live smarter lives, and this year we have taken a huge step forwards with our diverse, IoT-enabled products and services,” said Tim Baxter, President and Chief Operating Officer of Samsung Electronics America. “We will continue to enhance consumers’ quality of life by listening to their needs and strengthening our ecosystem.”

Samsung delivered the press conference from a stage enhanced by its own display technology, using a large 18.3m x 4.8m curved screen, which the company designed and built using its own LED signage, to deliver immersive and ultra-realistic images of its products.

The Next Generation of Home Entertainment

Samsung unveiled its spectacular new line-up of SUHD TVs that feature unparalleled picture quality with Quantum dot display, the world’s first bezel-less curved design which is beautiful from every angle and the smartest user experience that makes it easy for consumers to access all their entertainment content in one place.

Samsung’s 2016 SUHD TVs feature the world’s only cadmium-free, 10-bit Quantum dot display, offering the most true-to-life picture quality, with stunning brightness, exceptional contrast and the most lifelike colors ever offered by Samsung. The future of display technology, Quantum dot display converts light into nearly any color in the visible spectrum without distortion or compromising the brightness level, delivering the optimum viewing experience for consumers, regardless of the lighting environment.

This year, all of the Samsung SUHD TVs will feature the ability to provide a premium high dynamic range (HDR) experience, with 1,000 nit HDR minimum for a higher level of contrast between light and dark images. New Ultra Black technology also significantly reduces light reflection, further enhancing picture quality with minimal glare.

Built on the Tizen operating system (OS), Samsung’s 2016 Smart TVs make it easier for consumers to discover and access all their favorite content and services, from TV and movies to games and program information, all in one place. The new Samsung Smart TV eliminates the need to juggle multiple remote controls. The Samsung Smart TV will automatically recognize the type of set-top box, game console, OTT box or home theater system that is connected to the TV. This allows users to control all of the external devices with the Smart Control remote — with no setup required.

All 2016 SUHD TVs feature IoT hub technology, developed by Samsung with SmartThings. The SUHD TV can connect with and control over 200 SmartThings compatible devices – whether it’s to see who is ringing the doorbell, lock the doors or turn off the lights – all from the TV.

Samsung also unveiled the latest additions to its audio product lineup, including the HW-K950 Soundbar, the company’s first to feature Dolby Atmos®, and the industry’s first soundbar package to include two Dolby Atmos®-enabled wireless rear speakers. The complete HW-K950 package delivers incredible 5.1.4-channel sound.

The company also revealed the first Ultra HD Blu-ray Player, the HDR-compatible UBD-K8500, which offers four times the resolution and 64 times higher color expression than conventional Blu-ray players. When paired with Samsung SUHD TV’s Quantum dot display, the new UHD Blu-ray player delivers a level of picture quality never before seen in the home. The UBD-K8500’s built-in upscaling technology enhances the picture quality from standard Blu-ray discs and DVDs, and consumers can also play CDs. The UBD-K8500 is available for pre-order now and for purchase in March 2016 in the U.S.

Intelligent Digital Appliances Transform the Kitchen

Samsung also revealed the new Family Hub Refrigerator, a new category of IoT technology applied home appliance which helps families to connect, and provides new ways to manage, shop and prepare food. Its centerpiece is a 21.5” Full HD LCD touchscreen, a digital command center for the connected home, which combines powerful performance with ground-breaking technology never before seen in a refrigerator.

The Family Hub’s Key capabilities include:

• Improved Food Management: Three built-in cameras take a photo of the inside of the refrigerator every time the door is closed so consumers can always see what they have wherever they go, via their smartphone. Samsung has also partnered with MasterCard to offer a seamless online shopping experience through the Family Hub Refrigerator. Using the app on the refrigerator’s touchscreen, consumers can easily find and purchase items from multiple retailers, directly from their kitchen, all finished with a single, simple checkout process that accepts U.S.-issued credit and debit cards.

• Family Communication Center: The Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator enables the family to write notes, post photos, share calendars and artwork, right on the refrigerator’s touchscreen, or using their smartphone if they are away.

• IoT Technology Enabled: As a connected Samsung product the Family Hub Refrigerator is also a truly dynamic and evolving product platform that will leverage the power of Samsung’s IoT services. For example, consumers will be able to check their home’s doors are locked and turn off the lights right from the Family Hub screen.
• Connected Entertainment: With the Family Hub Refrigerator’s built-in stereo speakers, people can stream their favourite music service, or TV content from their Samsung Smart TVs directly to the touchscreen, as well as connecting to their own Bluetooth speakers.

Breaking Barriers in Mobile Productivity and Wearable Technology

At the CES press conference, Samsung also introduced the Gear S2 classic with two new unique color variants—Rose Gold and Platinum—for a classic, timeless design. These new models reflect Samsung’s commitment to bringing more choice to its consumers with new material varieties, providing users with diverse options to express and match their style while highlighting its circular design and advanced functionality.

The Gear S2 will offer a secure mobile payments feature with Samsung Pay (available in the U.S. in 2016) and is expanding its compatibility to devices running on iOS to extend accessibility to a wider range of mobile users.

For a more personal and customizable experience, Samsung is also expanding its line of watch straps and watch face options. Samsung has partnered with exclusive designers, such as Colombo, on premium watch straps for the Gear S2, and has introduced fun and creative watch faces including Peanuts characters and artworks from Keith Haring, Jean-Michael Basquiat, Jeremyville and Burton Morris.

Samsung also announced the availability of a wide selection of additional apps – from eBay, ESPN, Uber, Voxer and more – to both the Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic.

In addition, Samsung unveiled a brand new mobile product category with the announcement of its Galaxy TabPro S, which combines Samsung’s world-class technology, powered by the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system together into a premium tablet. By integrating the most popular features of laptops and tablets, users now have access to full notebook PC functionality in a lightweight tablet for the most productive mobile experience.

With a sleek and lightweight form factor, the Galaxy TabPro S is designed to be easily carried around all day. A full-sized keyboard cover enhances the usability, while a flexible hinge enables optimal, dual-angle viewing for the clearest display under any circumstance.

The Galaxy TabPro S extends Samsung’s advanced technology to the Windows operating system by providing the first Super AMOLED display for Windows, as well as other core features such as fast charging for up to 10.5 hours of battery life. For enhanced productivity, the Galaxy TabPro S is also compatible with a multiport adopter and Bluetooth Pen.

Intelligente Unterhaltungs- und Haushaltselektronik wird schon bald den Alltag vieler Menschen erleichtern und bereichern. Damit die unendlichen Möglichkeiten des sogenannten Internet der Dinge sich voll entfalten können, bedarf es einer intensiveren herstellerübergreifenden Zusammenarbeit. Dafür sprach sich BK Yoon, President und CEO von Samsung Electronics, in einer Keynote anlässlich der Eröffnung der Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 in Las Vegas aus. Gleichzeitig stellte Samsung einen Fahrplan für eigene vernetzte Angebote bis 2020 vor.

„Das Internet der Dinge hat das Potenzial, unsere Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft und unseren Alltag nachhaltig positiv zu verändern. Diese Aussicht Realität werden zu lassen, erfordert, dass wir innerhalb der Elektronikindustrie, aber auch branchenübergreifend an einem Strang ziehen“, erklärte BK Yoon in seiner Keynote. Der CEO von Samsung Electronics betonte zudem, dass das Internet der Dinge die Menschen mit ihren unterschiedlichsten Bedürfnissen in den Mittelpunkt rücken müsse. „Beim Internet der Dinge geht es nicht um ‚Dinge‘, sondern um den Menschen. Jeder Mensch ist die Mitte seines eigenen Technologie-Universums. Das Universum des Internet der Dinge muss sich daher kontinuierlich verändern und sich stets dem wandelnden Lebensstil der Menschen anpassen.”

Ausbau des Portfolios an Produkten und Komponenten

Samsung wird selbst einen großen Beitrag zum Aufbruch in die Internet der Dinge-Ära leisten. Yoon kündigte an, dass bis 2017 alle Fernsehgeräte und bis 2020 sämtliche Produkte aus eigenem Hause die nötigen Schnittstellen bieten werden, um sie in das Internet der Dinge einzubinden. Samsung Smart TVs könnten auf diese Weise künftig als Schaltzentrale für das intelligente Zuhause dienen.

Für das Zeitalter des Internet der Dinge prognostizierte BK Yoon zudem enormen Fortschritt in der Leistungsfähigkeit von Sensoren und weiteren Schlüsselkomponenten. Sie werden immer präziser sowie noch kompakter und energieeffizienter werden. In seiner Keynote beschrieb Yoon fortschrittliche Sensoren, die exakt genug sind, um die Umgebung eines Nutzers zu analysieren und jeweils die richtige Lösung bzw. den passenden Dienst zu bieten. So entwickelt Samsung zum Beispiel einen neuartigen drei-dimensional arbeitenden Sensor, der kleinste Bewegungen wahrnehmen kann. Samsung arbeitet zudem an Halbleiter-Lösungen, die derart energieeffizient und kompakt sind, dass sie speziell in Wearables und Mobilgeräten Einsatz finden. Dazu zählen Chips nach dem Verfahren des „embedded package on package“ (ePOP) und der sogenannte Bio-Prozessor.

„Die fokussierte Entwicklung von Produkten und der Komponenten, auf denen sie basieren, ist der erste Schritt auf dem Weg zum Internet der Dinge“, hob BK Yoon hervor. „Samsung produziert bereits ein breites Spektrum an Produkten für das Internet der Dinge. Im Jahr 2014 haben wir über 665 Millionen Geräte ausgeliefert, Tendenz steigend. Damit haben wir bereits begonnen, das verborgene Potential, das die Vernetzung im Alltag bietet, freizulegen.“

Ein offenes Ökosystem als Schlüssel zum Erfolg

Neben geeigneten Produkten und Komponenten, betonte BK Yoon die Relevanz offener Standards, um das Internet der Dinge zum Leben zu erwecken. „Damit sich das Internet der Dinge erfolgreich entwickeln kann, muss es auf offenen Standards basieren“, erklärte auch Gastredner Alex Hawkinson, CEO von SmartThings, einem zu Samsung gehörenden Unternehmen, im Rahmen der Keynote. „Jedes Gerät, egal von welcher Plattform, muss in der Lage sein, sich mit jedem anderen Gerät zu verbinden und damit kommunizieren zu können. Wir haben hart daran gearbeitet, dies zu erreichen und sind immer bestrebt, die Nutzer in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen, um ihnen die größtmögliche Auswahl und Freiheit zu ermöglichen. SmartThings zeichnet sich durch eine äußerst breite Kompatibilität aus“, erläuterte Hawkinson.

Unterstützung für Entwickler-Gemeinschaft

Eine tragende Rolle bei der Entstehung der vernetzten Ära wird Entwicklern zukommen, die Geräte und Dienste an offene Standards für das Internet der Dinge anpassen. „Wir bei Samsung sind bestrebt, die Entwickler-Gemeinschaft zu fördern. Denn nur zusammen können wir die Zukunft des Internet der Dinge gestalten“, erklärte BK Yoon. Aus dieser Überzeugung heraus, wird Samsung im laufenden Jahr 100 Millionen US-Dollar für Entwickler von Angeboten für das Internet der Dinge zur Verfügung stellen. Konkret will Samsung noch stärker Technologie-Startups fördern und Entwickler-Veranstaltungen international unterstützen.

Zusammenarbeit über die Grenzen von Branchen hinweg nötig

Samsung geht davon aus, dass das Internet der Dinge jeden Aspekt des Alltags betreffen und jeden Wirtschaftszweig revolutionieren wird. Für den Erfolg des Internet der Dinge werden daher Unternehmen über die Branchengrenzen hinweg zusammenarbeiten müssen, forderte BK Yoon. Nur so können die nötige Infrastruktur und die maßgeschneiderten Dienste geschaffen werden, die den vielfältigen Bedürfnissen der Konsumenten entsprechen. „Ich bin fest davon überzeugt, dass nicht nur ein einzelnes Unternehmen oder eine einzelne Branche die Möglichkeiten des Internet der Dinge verwirklichen kann. Nur wenn wir zusammenarbeiten, können wir das Leben der Menschen positiv verändern“, erklärte der CEO von Samsung Electronics.
