As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner for wireless communications and computing equipment, Samsung Electronics has worked closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for several years to help athletes better connect and communicate with their families and fans.

Yet, behind the packed stadiums and world-class competitions sits a task force of staff and volunteers working around the clock to ensure that Games-time operations run smoothly.

▲ Staff and volunteers use Samsung Galaxy Book laptops in the back office at Place de la Concorde.

Paris 2024 organizers utilized nearly 15,000 Galaxy devices — including more than 7,100 Galaxy smartphones, over 2,500 Galaxy Tab series tablets and 5,200 Galaxy Book series laptops — to support its task force across the IOC, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOG), Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and International Federations. From managing ticketing systems and stadium entry to facilitating event broadcasts, Galaxy devices have been used by staff or volunteer to deliver efficient and seamless operations throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

▲ A volunteer uses a Galaxy smartphone to scan a visitor’s accreditation at the entrance of the stadium at Place de La Concorde.

“Behind the scenes, the pace at which we have to work and the level of coordination required is unprecedented — especially when you consider the international nature of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Bruno Marie-Rose, Director of Technology and Information Systems at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. “We are reliant on the technology we’re using to ensure operations run smoothly. A homogenous system of Galaxy devices allows our teams to support visitor inquiries and complete operational requests more efficiently and effectively, helping us deliver the best Games-time experience.”

“The latest additions to our Galaxy ecosystem take productivity and connectivity to the next level. Having Galaxy innovations recognized by the IOC is an honor,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP & Head of Marketing, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “The Olympic and Paralympic Games are not only some of the world’s most prestigious events, but they are also some of the most complex to manage. With our partners, we’re proud to provide best-in-class mobile technology for the Olympics and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 organizers and fans.”

Besides equipping the task force with cutting-edge technology to drive Games-time operations, Samsung provided an exclusively designed Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition smartphones to each athlete participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. The foldable supports athletes with everything from navigating around the city with pre-loaded apps and services to overcoming language barriers thanks to the Interpreter feature on Galaxy AI.

Now, everyone can enjoy advanced security for enhanced peace of mind.

“Working with Samsung on the Galaxy Book2 Pro series is the next chapter in our proud collaboration to remove barriers between different operating systems and bring the best of Microsoft apps and services to the Galaxy Ecosystem,” said David Weston, director of Enterprise and OS Security, Microsoft. “Delivering the first consumer PC with Microsoft’s secured-core PC designation is a crucial step in this effort as today’s consumers deserve the same security protections they get in the office as they do while working remotely.”

With video calls now a part of everyday life, the Galaxy Book2 Pro series is upgraded for high-quality call experiences every time you connect. Now featuring 1080p FHD webcams and wider field of view angles,7 your video feed will look clear during every call. Studio Mode8 is also upgraded with a variety of new features, including Auto Framing, which keeps you perfectly centered even when you move around the frame. New background effects and Face Effect remove visual distractions from the background while enhancing your appearance, so you’ll look your best no matter where you video chat. To complete the video experience, GREENGUARD-certified AMOLED9 displays are now brighter10 for increased clarity.

Audio on the Galaxy Book Pro2 series is also enhanced for calls that sound just as good as they look. Bi-directional AI noise cancelling11 blocks distracting noises from both you and your colleague’s background, so every word is heard with full clarity. Additionally, the Max 5W output12 Smart Amp produces balanced sound at louder volumes. The Galaxy Book2 pro series also supports AKG and Dolby Atmos sound technology.

Furthermore, the newly added Samsung Device Care application included in the Galaxy Book2 Pro series now allows users to check their device efficiency and provides ways to optimize power and storage to ensure consistent performance throughout the lifespan of the device.

Seamless Continuity for the Connected World

The Galaxy Book2 Pro series offers a variety of connected experiences inside the Galaxy Ecosystem that eliminate friction in users’ daily lives. The new Galaxy Book Experience helps users get familiar with unique Galaxy features and transfers their content onto their new device. Through Single Sign-On with Samsung Account, users just need to enter their usernames and passwords once and instantly have access to Galaxy device apps and content including Samsung Gallery and Samsung Notes as well as have their Galaxy Galaxy Buds13 ready for pairing.

This new experience also takes users through the Galaxy Book Smart Switch14 process, helping them move old data, photos, settings and more, from their old PC regardless of manufacturer, to their new PC. And once transferred, the new Galaxy Book2 Pro series experience is more familiar than ever with the intuitive One UI Book 4. Users with other Galaxy devices will feel at home on their new PC with the same UI, apps and menus they’re already familiar with.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Book2 Pro series offers a variety of updates that make everyday interactions more seamless:

Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone,15 which pairs your Galaxy smartphone to your Galaxy Book2 Pro series device, now offers Recent Apps, allowing users to swipe up on their Windows 11 taskbar to check their smartphone’s status and even select their most recently used smartphone apps to use directly on their desktops.

With Samsung Multi control,16 you can use your Galaxy Book2 Pro series’ keyboard and trackpad while navigating on your Galaxy Tab S8 screen for seamless interactions across devices.

Private Share17 makes sharing sensitive work documents to colleagues easier than ever. It creates timed links with increased security options based on blockchain technology including view-only access, disabling screen capture abilities while viewing, and fully revoking access, so users keep the full control of their files even after sharing.

Now, Quick Share18 can be used to send large files with the new Link Sharing option, which generates an easily shareable link that recipients can access to quickly share content from PC to other devices.

The Galaxy Book2 Pro series also serves as the perfect hub for your SmartThings19-compatible devices. Turn on the lights, set the temperature or check your security cams all from the convenience of the SmartThings Dashboard. With the new Bixby20 voice control functionality, you can control your IoT devices with the convenience of voice prompts. Plus, with SmartThings Find,21 if a user misplaces their Galaxy Book2 Pro series device, they can quickly locate it even if it is currently turned off.

Galaxy for the Planet

Samsung understands the importance of producing technology in responsible and sustainable methods. The Galaxy Book2 Pro series advances Samsung’s ongoing commitment to minimize its environmental footprint and help Galaxy users adopt more sustainable lifestyles. Samsung recently announced a new high-performance, eco-conscious material that repurposes discarded fishing nets to reduce plastic waste in the ocean, and this material is now featured in the touchpad holder and the inner bracket of the Galaxy Book2 Pro series. Expanding the presence of ocean-bound plastics in Galaxy technology marks a notable achievement in the company’s sustainability journey. Through Galaxy for the Planet, Samsung is powering its scale, innovations and open collaborations to deliver tangible environmental actions across the MX Business and its entire product line-up to preserve the planet for generations to come.

Additionally, new algorithms extend the battery lifecycles and lower standby power reducing the need for frequent battery replacements. Furthermore, AMOLED panels received the GREENGUARD gold certification for eco-conscious products by the Underwriters Laboratories for minimizing VOC emissions for improved indoor air quality. Finally, the Galaxy Book2 Pro series’ packaging uses sustainably sourced paper boxes and mold trays.

Samsung Electronics today announced the release of Galaxy Book2 Business, a powerful new PC built on the vPro platform1 and packed with advanced security and productivity features to help businesses conquer the new reality of a hybrid work environment.

“We are in a new era where hybrid working is the norm,” said KC Choi, EVP and Head of Global Mobile B2B Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics. “Enterprises want to ensure their workforce can be their very best in this new environment, with technology that enables creativity, collaboration and productivity, while also protecting themselves from ever-increasing cyber threats. Galaxy Book2 Business is a PC designed for this hybrid world, empowering enterprises with defense-grade security, advanced productivity features and connected Galaxy experiences across devices and operating systems.”

Best-in-Class Security at Every Level

As remote work increased, so did cybersecurity threats. Enterprises focused on protecting employees working from home who can be more vulnerable to cyber risks but have limited access to the security tools and infrastructure available in the office. Galaxy Book2 Business helps secure the new hybrid work environment using Samsung’s defense-grade security technology, Intel Hardware Shield Technology, and secure embedded processor to protect BIOS. Galaxy Book2 Business is also equipped with a Tamper Alert function that detects and tracks malicious attempts to interfere with security-critical data and stop PC attacks before the operating system is infiltrated.

Galaxy Book2 Business is able to stop attempts to compromise its system by establishing a Hardware-based Root of Trust, which validates BIOS and builds a dependable trust chain between the CPU, secure embedded processor and SPI flash. Should Galaxy Book2 Business become the target of an attack, valuable data is secured with BIOS auto-recovery, which can detect threats during the PC’s boot process and automatically restore the BIOS to a backup copy before corruption strikes.

IT deployment and decentralized device management have never been more important for enterprises of all sizes, and Galaxy Book2 Business equips IT teams with added layers of protection and best-in-class support designed for today’s hybrid work environments. Galaxy Book2 Business PC built on Intel vPro ensures reliable, multi-level security and an Intel Hardware Shield that protects against hardware and OS attacks and reduces the chances of malware exploiting the OS. By monitoring both BIOS and OS levels, Galaxy Book2 Business helps enterprises evade attacks and keep sensitive data safe. Plus, Microsoft Secured-Core PC (SCPC) protects each device from kernel and firmware attacks, so malicious codes can’t corrupt the system.

Ultimate Productivity In and Out of the Office

Video calls have become routine and Galaxy Book2 Business delivers optimal performance tailor-made for hybrid meetings and work. Whether using video-conferencing apps such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Cisco Webex Meet, Studio Mode2 ensures every online meeting has a crisp, clean and professional feel. Auto Framing3 keeps the camera focused on the faces on-screen while Background Effects like blurred background and virtual office settings minimize distractions and enable employees to be the center of attention, even when taking calls from busy locations. Every Galaxy Book2 Business PC automatically filters static and background sounds, so voices come through clearly and every word is heard and understood.

When you’re in and out of back-to-back meetings, typing in your password to log back into your laptop can feel tedious. With Galaxy Book2 Business’ IR Camera, authorized users can log in with facial detection for easy access that saves time. Galaxy Book2 Business is also designed to keep up with rigorous work environments such as excessive altitudes, temperatures or humidity.

A Galaxy of Flexible, Connected Experiences

To keep up with today’s businesses, Galaxy Book2 Business offers the security solutions and connected power of the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. Employees can use the Samsung Account Single Sign-On feature, which simplifies the authentication process by requiring credentials to be entered only once. Samsung’s new blockchain-based Private Share4 also gives enterprise customers the safest platform for encrypting and sharing confidential information. Employees can authorize access and set expiration dates for every file they send, so proprietary and privileged information stays classified. And should an employee misplace their Galaxy Book2 Business PC at any point, they can use Samsung’s SmartThings Find5 to search for their Galaxy devices and pinpoint the location of each one.

As part of the Galaxy ecosystem, Galaxy Book2 Business can sync with smartphone apps through Link to Windows6 to send texts and take calls using both devices. The crossover app continuity also enables users to select recently used phone apps and open them up on their Galaxy Book2 Business PC, so they can pick up right where they left off. Samsung has also updated its Quick Share7 feature and merged it with Link Sharing, so users can instantly and easily share work with others from anywhere.

Availability

Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Book series, designed to work seamlessly with other Galaxy devices including your tablet, smartphone and wearables, is about to get even more powerful. On October 5, Microsoft launched all-new Windows 11, an operating system (OS) that includes such upgraded features a split-screen and multi-window UI options, expanded availability of Android apps for PC, a sleeker interface and more, which perfectly complements the Galaxy Book series and its emphasis on mobile-forward computing experiences.

Maximizing Mobility and Ecosystem Experiences

Much like the mobile-forward experiences set to come to users with the introduction of Windows 11, Samsung’s Galaxy Book series has been designed following careful observation of changing lifestyle trends and needs in order to develop devices that maximize mobility and work effortlessly with your other Galaxy devices at home and at work.

With Link to Windows,1 you can connect your Galaxy smartphone to your Galaxy Book series device to maximize productivity by taking advantage of the greater screen real estate, and make use of your favorite mobile apps with the convenience of the PC environment. With the update, you can check your phone connectivity status, manage sound controls and even enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode on your Galaxy Book series, all with the help of the familiar UI just as you see on your Galaxy smartphones and tablets for more seamless control using your PC. Link to Windows also comes with Dark Mode for comfortable viewing experiences no matter the time of day.

Along with the launch of Windows 11, Live Wallpaper on the Galaxy Book series2 has also received an upgrade. Live Wallpaper now supports the same UI as seen on your Galaxy smartphones and tablets, as well as the same Dynamic Wallpaper images found on Galaxy Dynamic Lockscreen. Users can enjoy a range of high-quality background images from 10 different categories of Dynamic Wallpaper that are exclusive to this feature. With the Live Wallpaper update, you can enjoy the same background across your Galaxy mobiles, tablets and PCs.

Furthermore, for even more mobility with your device, Samsung has introduced Bixby on Windows for Galaxy Book users3 to provide an intuitive way for you to interact with your PC. Through simple voice commands, you can search for files, open apps and Settings and even control devices within your SmartThings-registered device ecosystem. Simply say “Hi Bixby” or press CTRL, Shift and B or FN and B simultaneously to activate the Bixby on Windows feature, and enjoy easy installation by visiting the Microsoft store or searching for Bixby in your Windows taskbar.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G will be the first Samsung laptop to ship with Windows 11. Existing Galaxy Book series devices4 are also compatible with Windows 11, and users are eligible for a free upgrade to this new operating system. Detailed information on the upgrade procedure process can be found on the official Microsoft website, and stay tuned to Samsung Newsroom for more information on the Galaxy Book series.

1 Users must link their Galaxy device to their Windows PC through ‘Link to Windows’ on phone and Your Phone app on PC, follow the set-up prompts, including being signed into the same Microsoft account. Link to Windows is preloaded on select Galaxy devices. Your Phone requires Windows 10 update on the PC. Your Phone requires Galaxy device to be on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the PC. Some mobile apps may restrict content to be shared on other screens or may require a touch screen to be able to interact with them. Multiple Android applications can be launched simultaneously up to 5 at a time

2 The upgrade to Live Wallpaper will go live on October 5 at 3 PM GMT. It is available on all Galaxy Book series that support Windows 10 and 11. PCs for ARM (Galaxy Book Go, Galaxy Book S, etc.) do not support this feature.

3 Bixby on Windows for Galaxy Book series is available for Galaxy Book, Galaxy Book Odyssey, Galaxy Book Go, Galaxy Book Pro 360 and Galaxy Book Pro devices, both 5G and LTE models. The languages currently supported are Korean and English only.

When it comes to digital pens, the S Pen is in a class of its own. An iconic companion for Galaxy devices, it has a long history as the ultimate productivity and creativity tool.

That’s thanks in large part to the collaboration between Samsung and Wacom, a leading technology company that specializes in interactive pen displays and graphics tablets. For over 10 years the two companies have collaborated to deliver meaningful innovation to customers.

Now, with the Galaxy Book Pro 360, Samsung and Wacom have drawn on a decade of collaboration to redefine the S Pen for modern computing devices. With a more comfortable grip, and an improved writing experience, the advanced S Pen delivers ultimate creativity and productivity for Galaxy Book Pro 360 users.

“We are honored to have supported Samsung’s S Pen and digital ink technology for over 10 years,” said Nobu Ide, President and CEO of Wacom. “The Galaxy Book Pro 360 demonstrates the strengths of our ever-growing collaboration.”

Since launching the first Galaxy Note in 2011, Samsung has been a pioneer in creating mobile experiences for large-screen devices. Realizing that larger screens had potential for entirely new features, Samsung and Wacom joined forces to create the S Pen. With the success of the partnership, Samsung has brought the S Pen to an ever-expanding line-up of devices, including the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and Galaxy Tab S7/S7+.

What started as a stylus for notetaking has evolved into an iconic creativity and productivity tool that allows users to do everything from creating digital art to snapping photos and controlling professional presentations. Along the way, Wacom has played an integral role in the development of the S Pen.

“Our partnership with Wacom has allowed us to expand the possibilities of mobile devices,” said Inkang Song, Vice President and Head of Technology Strategy Group of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “Thanks to our collaborative effort, we’ve delivered truly unique digital pen experiences that have created a loyal Galaxy fan base.”

Those Galaxy fans will find that Samsung and Wacom have once again delivered an unparalleled S Pen experience with the Galaxy Book Pro 360. An upgraded S Pen comes right in the box, delivering a more true-to-life writing and drawing experience.

“The S Pen allows users to get creative, composed, and organized so they can create content and communicate more effectively,” said Ide. “Large-screen devices like the Galaxy Book Pro 360 give people more surface area to play with, giving them more room to create and work.”

Not only do the large display and S Pen give users more ways to create and work, the versatility of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 makes it the perfect device for the new world of remote work and learning.

“With the rapid changes in the way we work and learn, laptops play a more central role in our lives than ever before,” said Song. “The Galaxy Book Pro 360 maximizes productivity and creativity, and with features like the S Pen, users can get more out of their device when taking notes, editing, giving presentations, or creating art.”

Empowering creative expression, the Galaxy Book Pro 360’s S Pen has been made thicker to better mimic a real pen and deliver a more comfortable notetaking experience. Its ergonomic and responsive design also allows artists to sketch and draw more freely. So whether you are jotting down notes during a lecture, taking meeting minutes, or drawing digital portraits, it feels just as comfortable as using a real pen. Best of all, the Galaxy Book Pro 360’s S Pen is compatible with other S Pen-enabled Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S21 Ultra. However, refining the S Pen’s improved experience wasn’t without its challenges.

While studying the way users engage with the S Pen during intensive tasks on devices like PCs and tablets, Samsung and Wacom discovered there was a need to reduce fatigue when drawing and notetaking, as well as a need to make it feel more like using a real pen.

“We tried various types of materials to coat the pen to keep users from feeling tired after using the S Pen for a long time,” said Ide. “We landed on a special paint ingredient that delivers a better feeling grip. We also refined the pen tip to ensure a reliable writing and drawing experience and more accurate ink line production.”

The Galaxy Book Pro 360’s S Pen represents both a step forward for Samsung’s partnership with Wacom, as well as the next step in digital pen and ink technology. As both companies continue to innovate, the future of the S Pen is more promising than ever. In addition to developing more powerful, and versatile S Pens, Samsung is continuously expanding the range of compatible devices.

“We have worked closely with Wacom to deliver meaningful innovation for the S Pen. Our partnership will continue to grow as we create more innovative devices with S Pen support,” said Song. “Thanks to our collaboration, the S Pen has become an iconic part of the Galaxy experience, and we are always thinking about ways to add value to our customers. From smartphones, to tablets and PCs, Galaxy fans can expect to see more devices with S Pens so they can be productive and creative wherever they go.”

PCs have become permanently woven into the fabric of everyday life, helping us connect to the wider world, work remotely, stay in touch with friends and family, and find outlets for creativity and relaxation.

Samsung is working to meet the demands of mobile lifestyles with a new generation of PCs that combine the power of a laptop with the DNA of a Galaxy smartphone. As announced during the most recent Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, the company worked closely with its longstanding, trusted partner, Intel, to develop a new lineup of devices built to transform the future of mobile computing – the Galaxy Book series.

▲ (From Left) Chris Walker, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Client Platforms, Intel, and Dr. Hark-Sang Kim, Executive Vice President and the Head of New Computing R&D Team of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics

Reimagining Mobile Computing

Samsung and Intel have a long history of collaboration and co-innovation. Brought together by a shared vision to deliver premier computing experiences, the partnership has enabled Samsung to combine its industry-leading mobile ecosystem with Intel’s innovative PC ecosystem to create devices that are purpose-built for today’s multi-device world.

“Our teams have jointly invested thousands of engineering hours to ensure deep integration at the platform level. We bring the best of both companies to provide a unified experience across all devices with mobility, connectivity and performance,” explained Chris Walker, Intel’s Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Client Platforms, who oversees the company’s product roadmap, engineering, and customer engagement across all mobility segments.

Dr. Hark-Sang Kim, Executive Vice President and the Head of New Computing R&D Team of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, emphasized that the partnership is driven by the shared mission to innovate quickly to meet the demands of users’ evolving needs.

“Our customers expect their smartphones to offer power and productivity comparable to their PCs, and they want their PCs to behave more like their smartphones, providing connectivity and portability. They also expect reliability, with the assurance that the apps they need will work perfectly, without compatibility issues or hassle. These evolving needs have reenergized Samsung and Intel’s partnership, resulting in even deeper collaboration,” said Dr. Kim.

As part of its work with Samsung, Intel established a co-engineering team dedicated to advancing mobile computing innovation and strengthening cross-devices experiences.

“Samsung continues to reimagine PC design for the future. Together, we’re thinking a step ahead of how people use devices and where they’ll take them,” said Walker. “By blending the best of the smartphone, tablet, and PC, we’ve built a new device class.”

A New Standard of Performance in an Ultra-Thin Form Factor

For several years, Samsung and Intel have been working together to create a new category of devices that deliver unparalleled connected experiences for today’s mobile-first consumers. Following thousands of hours of collaboration, the teams realized their vision in the latest Galaxy Book series.

“This partnership had an immediate impact on the next generation of Galaxy Books. The Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 are optimized for the best Intel Evo platform, ensuring powerful performance and an ultra-thin design for maximum portability and connectivity,” said Dr. Kim. “Galaxy Book users will also enjoy enhanced connectivity with always-connected LTE or 5G and more efficient Wi-Fi connectivity with the most advanced standard available today, Wi-Fi 6E.”1

Powered by 11th Gen Intel® Core processors and Intel® Iris® Xe graphics, the Galaxy Book series is built to make consumers’ everyday lives simpler, smoother, and more intuitive. Engineers at Samsung and Intel also worked hand-in-hand to ensure that the two devices would Intel Evo platform-verified, guaranteeing that they would provide the powerful performance that users need.

“By measuring workflows under real-world conditions for consistent performance and battery life together, the teams delivered the best possible laptop experience in these thin, light and super sleek form factor,”2 explained Walker. “The Galaxy Book Pro series is unique because it has the incredible thinness and responsiveness of a smartphone with the performance of a powerful PC. Together, Samsung and Intel delivered on the promise of uncompromised mobility. We’re setting a new standard for computing.”

Driven by a vision to realize seamless connectivity across devices, Samsung and Intel collaborated to add the SmartThings Find capabilities to the new Galaxy Books.

“More mobile and flexible lifestyles also mean more opportunities to forget your device somewhere. Samsung and Intel worked to fully optimize Intel Bluetooth drivers in order to power Samsung SmartThings Find, an exclusive device location service that provides a sense of security and peace of mind for users on the go,” Dr. Kim explained.

Not only did the project bring SmartThings Find to the Galaxy Books, but the experience also laid the blueprint for future collaborative efforts.

“This has been a true co-engineering effort between Samsung and Intel to deliver this feature in record time, and we will use this to continue to deliver innovation for Samsung devices going forward,” said Walker.

Devices Built for the New Normal

Since virtual connections have become more central to people’s professional and personal lives than ever before, Samsung and Intel engineers focused on creating enhanced collaboration experiences for the Galaxy Book series.

“Our devices should be able to adapt to the way we work. With the Galaxy Book series, we wanted to give users the ability to communicate clearly with others, no matter where they are,” said Dr. Kim.

Harnessing the capabilities of the Intel Gaussian and Neural Accelerator 2.0, or Intel GNA 2.0, Intelligent Noise Cancelling uses artificial intelligence to remove distracting background noises, such as barking dogs, doorbells, and vacuum cleaners, from voice and video calls. Combined with AI-accelerated background blur and integrated Intel® Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), the Galaxy Book Pro series delivers unmatched video conferencing experiences.

And to help users accomplish more on the go, Samsung and Intel joined forces to bring powerful connectivity solutions to the Galaxy Book series.

“Building on its extensive experience and in-depth expertise in developing mobile connectivity features for Galaxy smartphones, Samsung worked closely with Intel to equip the Galaxy Book Pro line up with three industry-leading connectivity solutions from Intel, including Wi-Fi 6E,3 5G, and custom Bluetooth enablement. These technologies together enable easy access to gigabit-plus speeds across devices,” said Walker.

Creating Devices for an Inter-Connected World

The Galaxy Book series marks a new chapter in the partnership between Intel and Samsung. The experience not only led to the development of category-defying devices, but also built the foundation for the next stage of innovation.

“Through strategic partnership and technical cooperation, Intel and Samsung will continue to work towards our shared goal of creating next-generation mobile computing experiences to meet users’ needs,” said Dr. Kim. “Moving forward, Intel and Samsung will deliver even more optimization, reliability, and custom experiences to bring your Galaxy Book to the center of your connected world, allowing you to do more wherever you are.”

Aside from improving device capabilities, the partnership also promises to deliver technologies that will change the future of mobile computing.

“We plan to collaborate on new leading-edge technologies, including our Intel Core processors leveraging multiple types of XPU cores, unique PC designs aligned with Galaxy DNA, more personalized computing through enhanced AI technology, and a stronger continuity of experience across devices,” said Walker.

Q: What is Samsung’s business strategy for its PC business?

Response by TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business

“As a result of the unprecedented changes that we experienced last year, the PC became woven into the fabric of everyday life. Accordingly, device expectations have risen, and today’s mobile-first users are seeking the same level of convenience and seamless user experiences with their PCs as is provided by their smartphones.

With all of our mobile innovations within the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, we aim to shape a new mobile computing experience, ultimately positioning Samsung as a leading innovator in the PC market.”

Q: How does the Galaxy Book series fit into Samsung Galaxy ecosystem?

Response by Patrick Chomet, EVP and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile Communications Business

“In designing the Galaxy Book series, we looked across our entire mobile portfolio—from earbuds and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to tablets and smartphones—in search of ways for your devices to work together to help you do more.

The Galaxy Book Pro series expands the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, keeping you connected to all your devices and ensuring you never need to interrupt your workflow. From the Link to Windows (Microsoft Your Phone) feature to a unified Samsung Notes experience —featuring PDF annotation, voice recording, and auto-syncing— you can enjoy more connected experiences across your mobile devices and Galaxy Book.

With Easy Bluetooth connection, your Galaxy earbuds automatically toggle between your Galaxy Book and smartphone as you switch tasks, while Second screen allows you to expand your Galaxy Book’s workspace onto your tablet. The Galaxy Book series works together seamlessly with the broader Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, so you’re prepared for whatever task comes your way.”

Q: What is the strength of all-new Galaxy Book Pro series?

Response by Woncheol Chai, SVP and Head of Product Planning Team, Mobile Communications Business

“Galaxy Book Pro 360 and Galaxy Book Pro combine the mobility, connectivity and continuity of a smartphone with the performance users expect from a PC to deliver a seamless mobile computing powerhouse experience like no other. With the Galaxy Book Pro series, users can continue to enjoy their favorite Android apps on a Windows PC. With Galaxy Book Pro 360, users can even benefit from a touchscreen and an S Pen for their creative work.

Galaxy Book users can take their devices everywhere thanks to the lineup’s ultra-thin and light designs, while seamless connection to the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem allows users to easily sync with their Galaxy devices. Furthermore, since the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem provides continuity across multiple operating systems by combining the best of them, users can enjoy seamless, unified experience.

We like to think of the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem as offering something new for today’s modern life and routines rather than competing with existing offerings.”

Q: Does the thinness of these devices sacrifice performance?

Response by Hark-Sang Kim, SVP and Head of Visual R&D Team, Mobile Communications Business

“No, in fact the next generation of Galaxy Books provide a boost in performance in every way. Our engineering teams thought through every step of developing and designing devices that are both thin and light and also maximize performance. Based on thermal circulation simulation technologies, we redesigned the fan systems from the ground up to provide better cooling in a smaller package. Thanks to our partnership with Intel, we were able to co-engineer an ultra-thin and light design while never sacrificing the performance of these Evo-certified devices.”

Q: How is Samsung collaborating with Microsoft and Intel on the Galaxy Book and what is the long-term goal of these partnerships?

Response by Patrick Chomet

“We have always believed that the best innovations happen through teamwork. The Galaxy Book series is tailor-made for today’s multi-device world, backed by a vast ecosystem of connected devices and services that elevate your productivity, creativity, performance and entertainment. To realize this, we have embraced open collaboration with Microsoft and Intel to create fully optimized, powerful Galaxy Books that provide continuity across different operating systems and connect with all your devices inside the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem seamlessly.

With Microsoft, we’ve linked PC and smartphone experiences by allowing users to access multiple Android mobile apps simultaneously on their Windows PC. Intel has leveraged five decades of hardware experience to optimize processors around the needs of our users, meaning that your device is ready for any task, at any time, in any place. Together, we’re building a new approach to mobile computing, where smartphones and PCs work together flawlessly across operating systems, and never sacrifice performance nor portability.”
