Your Galaxy wearables are about to get even smarter in the coming months. Google Gemini is set to debut on Samsung Galaxy Watches, making its first integration into the Galaxy wearable lineup. Moreover, activating Gemini will be smoother than ever when paired with the Galaxy Buds3 series. This update will extend AI functionalities across the entire Galaxy ecosystem, creating a more cohesive and intelligent user experience.

Galaxy Watch: Get More Done, Hands-Free

With Gemini on your Galaxy Watch, you can get hands-free assistance using natural voice commands to stay productive on the move. When running on the treadmill at the gym, simply ask Gemini to “Remember I’m using locker 43 today” so you can focus on your workout without a second thought. Or when you receive an important email while your hands are tied up carrying groceries, just ask Gemini to “Summarize my last email” for a quick overview. Gemini handles these requests across your apps, letting you quickly glance at the response and get right back to what you’re doing.

▲ With Gemini, Galaxy Watch users can stay productive without breaking stride.

Galaxy Buds: Seamless Device Interaction

When used with Galaxy Buds, the Gemini experience becomes even more seamless. By using voice or pinch and hold controls, you can activate Gemini on your Galaxy Buds and smoothly interact with your Galaxy smartphone. So when you are lacing up your running shoes before a jog, just ask Gemini, “What’s the weather for my run today?” without having to reach for your phone. With Gemini, a more intelligent Galaxy experience is at your fingertips.

The recently released Galaxy S24 series opened up new possibilities to connect across cultures with the groundbreaking power of Galaxy AI. You can break down language barriers — all thanks to the secure on-device AI.

And now, with its latest updates, the Galaxy Buds series is making these smart features even more seamless.

By introducing a range of hands-free, AI-powered features, the Galaxy Buds’ upgrades not only put you at the center of a crystal-clear sound experience — they also connect you to the heart of the Samsung ecosystem. Whether paired with the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Book4 series, Samsung TVs and more, the all-new convenient and intelligent capabilities of Galaxy Buds help you better tune in to the world around you.

Barrier-Free Communication With Galaxy Buds

Tired of feeling lost in translation during conversations? The Galaxy S24 series’ real-time translation features let you talk to anyone, anywhere, and this barrier-free communication gets even better with Galaxy Buds.

Interpreter: Interpreter enhances communication by providing real-time translation on your Galaxy S24 series. When paired with Galaxy Buds, they further optimize the feature by separating sound during conversation. You can listen to translations through your earbuds, while the other person hears through your phone speaker, helping you to focus better on the conversation and eliminating the need to pass your device back and forth. Plus, you can effortlessly swap the order of speech during the conversation by simply tapping on the Galaxy Buds, without having to manually adjust the order with your phone.

Enhanced Connectivity With the Samsung Ecosystem

The latest Galaxy Buds updates not only let you dial into richer and more immersive sound, but they also connect you seamlessly across Samsung devices.

Auracast: Last year, Samsung introduced Auracast for Samsung Smart TVs on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro — transforming your TV1 into a shared radio station that can be broadcast across multiple Galaxy Buds. Now, with the latest update, this feature is coming to phones and tablets2 including the Galaxy S24 series.

360 Audio: The best audio places users in the center of the action, and 360 Audio delivers surrounding sound from all directions. Previously supported on phones and tablets, 360 Audio will now be available for TVs,3 providing a theater-like experience at home. Galaxy Buds will also be able track your head movement to create a truly immersive soundscape.

Auto Switch: Say you’re watching your Samsung TV with your Galaxy Buds and receive a call. Auto Switch automatically shifts the connection to your Galaxy phone and then switches back when the call ends. Thanks to the latest update, Samsung is extending this feature to PCs4 including the Galaxy Book4 series, enabling you to conveniently enjoy premium sound across Samsung devices.

The Future Is Loud and Clear

In addition to the latest Galaxy AI feature update, this software update for enhanced connectivity will be made progressively available on Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds FE, starting in late February.5 Samsung will continue evolving the Galaxy Buds series to deliver intelligent, best-in-class and seamlessly connected sound — anytime, anywhere and with every connection.

To learn more about the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds FE, please visit: samsung.com/us/mobile-audio.

1 Available on 2023 Neo QLED 8K and 2023 MICRO LED launched in 2023. Requires software updates on both Galaxy Buds2 Pro and a paired Samsung TV.
2 ‘Broadcast sound using Auracast’ is available on Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series with One UI 6.1 or above. ‘Listen to Auracast broadcast’ is available on Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Fold4, Z Flip5, Z Flip4, A54 5G, M54 5G, Tab S9 series, Tab S9 FE series and Tab Active 5 5G with One UI 5.1.1 or above.

Samsung Electronics today announced its collaboration with multifaceted Paris-meets-Tokyo lifestyle brand Kitsuné on two new special-edition wearables — the Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition and the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition.

The partnership brings Maison Kitsuné’s playfulness into the Samsung Galaxy, with the iconic Maison Kitsuné Fox logo coming to life in playful and creative ways on the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Buds2. Maison Kitsuné’s signature aesthetic is infused into every aspect of the Galaxy special edition wearables, from the watch straps and watch faces to the earbuds and their case. A refined new hue, Moonrock Beige, was also created specifically for the collaboration. It channels the overarching Galaxy theme while striking the perfect balance between trendy and chic.

“We are ecstatic to be bringing our distinct style and iconic Fox logo to Samsung Galaxy wearable designs,” said Maison Kitsuné co-founder Gildas Loaëc. “We loved the idea of the Maison Kitsuné Fox traversing the galaxy and we had a lot of fun coming up with the new Moonrock Beige color and other subtle motifs and design elements that illustrate the Fox’s journey through time and space.”

Samsung Electronics announced today that it is bringing new connectivity features to Galaxy Buds through a software update, available starting today.1 Previously available on Galaxy Buds+, the features allow Galaxy Buds users to now go completely wireless and take their music more easily than ever before – whether it’s on a run, at your workspace or around your home.

Here’s a look at how these new features will enable you to do more with your Galaxy Buds.

Easily Pair Galaxy Buds with Your PC

With Microsoft Swift Pair feature, you can now more easily pair your Galaxy Buds to your Windows 10-based PC.2 This allows you to utilize Galaxy Buds’ innovative sound quality on work-related tasks, such as remote video meetings, or listening to the music that helps you power through the workday. With the addition of Swift Pair compatibility, Galaxy Buds join Galaxy Buds+ to support multiple pairing experiences across mobile and PC devices,3 giving you the freedom to easily connect to, and switch between, your favorite devices.

Tune In, or Out, of the World Around You

With this update, and for the first time on Galaxy Buds, you can now experience Ambient Sound4 automatically. By simply putting your Buds on, you can now hear your surroundings and remain aware of the world around you, even when you’re watching movies or listening to your favorite tunes with the volume up. In addition, you can now experience Ambient Sound even with only one earbud in, giving you more options of how you tune in, or tune out, of your surrounding environment.

Instantly Listen to Your Personalized Playlist with a Single Press

Spotify users can now instantly listen to personalized music on their Galaxy Buds with a single press. Through a simple ‘Tap & Hold’ gesture, users can launch Spotify and start listening to music where ever you left off.5 Not feeling it? Tap and hold again and Spotify will recommend playlists just for you so you can effortlessly discover your new favorite song through your Galaxy Buds.
Samsung Electronics, an official sponsor of the 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019, has launched the “Make the Wave” campaign to encourage athletes and also inspire their fans by connecting them through inspiring music, based on its brand philosophy, “Do What You Can’t”.

Samsung Electronics appointed Simone Manuel as the ambassador for this year’s campaign, to encourage sports fans from all over the world to share music through social media. Simone Manuel won a gold medal and set an Olympic record in the women’s 100-meter freestyle at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. As Samsung Electronics’ ambassador for the event, she will share a message of encouragement and discuss pushing boundaries without losing hope amid difficult circumstances, as well as talk about the songs and the music that inspire her and help boost her performance.

As part of the campaign, special events are planned for aspiring swimmers in Gwangju city. Students will be provided with a chance to be escorts for the water polo finals. They will also meet Kim Se-jin, an accomplished swimmer better known as the “robotic leg swimmer,” who was a member of South Korea’s national disabled swimming team.

“This campaign is designed to spread the heat of the competition with a variety of marketing activities, to share the stories of swimmers who are challenging themselves in working toward their dreams, and to cheer on one another through music, powered by our brand philosophy of ‘Do What You Can’t,’” said Younghee Lee, Global CMO at Samsung Electronics. “I hope that everyone will enjoy the events throughout our ‘Make the Wave’ campaign.”

“I am glad to be able to share my stories and songs by participating in the ‘Make the Wave’ campaign, which corresponds with my can-do spirit. I hope all swimmers will leave the competition without any regrets and that sports fans will cheer on the athletes loudly,” said Simone Manuel.

Samsung Electronics has set up a 255-square-meter experience zone in the athlete village, where athletes will be able to interact with other swimmers through uniform exchange, birthday parties and a Korean name calligraphy event. Additionally, there will be opportunities to test out Samsung’s latest products such as the Galaxy S10 series, AKG N700 headphones, ‘The Frame’ 4K TV, and Samsung Notebook 7.

Samsung Electronics, which has sponsored FINA since 2015, has been supporting the events with various products. For this year’s events in Gwangju, in addition to the official sponsorship, Samsung is providing 1,996 refrigerators for the athlete village and the stadiums where the competitions will take place.

The 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019, which will kick off on July 12, is one of the world’s top-five mega sports events, with competitions in six events – swimming, diving, high diving, water polo, artistic swimming and open water swimming. About 7,266 aquatic sports athletes, officials, media, and International Swimming Federation officials from 193 countries have registered, an all-time high. More than 12,000 participants are expected to gather in Gwangju for the events, including the World Masters Swimming Competition starting on August 5.

Any sports fan can participate in the digital event on the official website of Samsung Electronics to share their songs and cheer for the athletes. Those interested in the event can visit the official page (www.samsung.com/fina2019), select the music they have been inspired by when facing new challenges, and share it on their personal social media with their own album cover. This event will be held from July 9 to August 18 during which 20 AKG N700 headphones and 41 Galaxy Buds will be given away through a lucky draw.

Since 2016, Samsung Electronics has been pushing to bring comfort and portability to the forefront of the mobile audio experience with their wearable earbuds – with industry-leading success.

In their latest iteration, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds have been engineered to deliver premium audio in a truly wearable design. Let’s take a deep dive into the features, from acoustic design to software to form, that enable the wireless earbuds to provide a new mobile audio experience.

Sound by AKG

The latest Galaxy Buds mark the first time that AKG is bringing outstanding sound quality to a truly wireless product. But what defines excellent sound quality? A cursory glance at audio reviews and audiophile forums will show that the answers are diverse. While some users favor rich bass tones, others prefer headphones with a spacious soundstage.

There is, perhaps, no person better qualified to answer this question than Dr. Sean Olive, Acoustic Research Senior Fellow at Harman International. For the past seven years, Dr. Olive and his team have been conducting in-depth research into the perception and measurement of headphone sound quality.

“Good sound is achieved when the headphones accurately reproduce the music without adding any audible distortion or noise to the original sound,” he says.

Dr. Sean Olive (middle) testing headphones with his team

By testing the response of a wide range of listeners, Dr. Olive and his team have developed an objective tool to measure the sound quality of headphones. Dubbed the Harman Target Curve, the measurement helps audio engineers design headphones that replicate the experience of listening to music in a reference listening room.

“Sound quality involves different attributes, including spectral or timbral qualities, spatial qualities and distortion, and noise. The goal for AKG is to be as neutral, accurate and transparent as possible for each of these attributes,” he explains.

Described by Dr. Olive as “a perfect marriage between science, engineering, and art,” Galaxy Buds were tuned to the Harman Target Curve by acoustic engineers at AKG. The wireless earbuds achieved a truly impressive performance on the Curve, significantly higher than other wireless earphones, winning the praise of Dr. Olive.

“The sound quality of the new Galaxy Buds is impressive,” Dr. Olive says. “It is difficult to say they have any sonic personality, which is the ultimate compliment I can give.”

Users can tailor the tone of the Galaxy Buds to suit their tastes and different musical genres by using the customizable equalizer, which features five unique settings. With eartips designed to maximize the noise-minimizing advantages of canal-type earbuds, Galaxy Buds let users listen to their favorite tunes, regardless of the surroundings.

Scalable Codec

In addition to perfecting the acoustics, designing wireless earbuds presents additional challenges. For one, the reliance on Bluetooth to transmit audio information makes wireless earbuds susceptible to interference.

Featuring Samsung’s proprietary Scalable Codec, Galaxy Buds ensure that users can enjoy their favorite tunes without interruption. The codec prevents audio chopping by changing the bit-rate according to the strength of the Bluetooth connection. When the wireless connection is weak, Scalable Codec automatically encodes the audio information with a higher compression ratio, allowing the earbuds to receive data without interruption.

Adaptive Dual Microphone

Galaxy Buds’ noise-canceling capability extends beyond the listening experience. Featuring an Adaptive Dual Microphone, the wireless earbuds also minimize external noise in phone conversations.

The Adaptive Dual Microphone combines signals from an inner and outer microphone. While the outer receiver detects audio in the surrounding area, the inner microphone picks up vibrations resonating inside the body. By processing and mixing the two sources, the Adaptive Dual Microphone produces an accurate representation of the user’s voice. The microphones are further enhanced by SolomonVoice technology and Wind Noise Reduction capability to help Galaxy Buds deliver the user’s voice clearly.

Gone are the days when your earphones were attached to the end of an electric cord. Losing the cables and mounted with Bluetooth technology, they have evolved into wireless earbuds. Users no longer have to worry about the cables getting tangled into a knot in their pockets. What’s more, wireless earbuds are now available in various designs that add a fashionable value.

Samsung Electronics’ all new ‘Galaxy Buds’ offers the best performance of all the advantages of wireless earphones. It is smaller and lighter than the previous generation, which makes for longer and more comfortable wear. With the enhanced battery efficiency, it offers longer usage time with a single charge. Perhaps most importantly, its sound quality has been improved with the technology of AKG, the premium audio brand of Harman.

The upgrade from the previous generation is clear in terms of specs. Samsung Newsroom has tried the product to experience just how much better it is when used.

Galaxy Buds is very lightweight that it is barely detectable in the palm of the hand. The size is also smaller than Samsung’s existing wireless earphones, ‘Gear IconX.’ Instead of hanging on the ears, Galaxy Buds ensures the best possible fit with its wing tips, and do not fall out easily. Even the largest wing tips do not press on the earflaps, making the earbuds comfortable and stable to wear.

The earbuds are a compact size that fits snugly inside the ears and the exterior that shows outside it is fashioned to a nicely rounded shape. The gloss of the surface material is quite natural and soft in color that it goes well with various kinds of styles. Users need not worry about whether the earbuds look good with their outfits.

Well-Balanced and Solid Sound Quality

‘Sound by AKG’ is etched on to the packaging of the product, showing the company’s confidence in the Galaxy Buds’ solid sound quality, which proved to be quite well balanced and consistent. It offers a deep, consistent base and a flat treble. For those who have their own taste for a certain sound field1, use the ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app to choose one from the five EQ presets and customize the sound profile.

I tried listening to various genres of music for each EQ preset to figure out the difference. For emotional music such as ballads or jazz, the ‘dynamic’ setting was the best fit. For band or dance music, the ‘clear’ setting was a solid choice since it highlighted the differences in mixed sounds. According to the styles and ranges of vocals or instruments used, selecting the ‘bass boost’ or ‘treble boost’ was a nice pick. When I was enjoying music while concentrating on another task, the ‘soft’ preset was comfortable to listen to as it balanced different tones.

The sound quality during phone calls was outstanding in clarity, which makes for a pleasant experience to switch over to answering a phone call from listening to music. A good set of earphones maintains its sound quality not only when the music is playing but also during phone calls. Galaxy Buds showed consistent, solid performance on the subway or inside elevators and blocked out the noise well.

The two embedded microphones also controlled the volume of my voice according to the surrounding environment. During the several phone calls I made when I was using Galaxy Buds, I seldom heard complaints from the other person for not being able to hear me over the surrounding noise.

A useful tip for when making a phone call in a noisy environment is to choose ear tips that are a perfect, snug fit in the ears. This helps make a difference in blocking out the noise from the surroundings so that the microphone embedded in the interior nozzle of the earbud can pick up the user’s voice more easily.

Useful Features Including Seamless Connection and ‘Find My Earbuds’

Galaxy Buds automatically connects to the user’s smartphone when the case is open and disconnects when placed back in the case. With a simple touch on the surface of an earbud, users can play or pause the current song, or move onto the previous or next song. Users can even give orders or turn on and off certain features using voice command.

When the earbuds are misplaced, users can activate the ‘Find My Earbuds’ feature on the Galaxy Wearables app. The earbuds will start making a beeping sound which will help relocate them.

By turning on ‘notifications’, users can receive a voice notification in between the music when they receive a message or email. This feature is useful for those that always need to be available at work or when expecting an important message. Users can also manage notifications and turn them on or off for specific apps.

‘Ambient sound mode’ let noise from the surroundings flow into the earbuds without taking them off. It balances between the sound from the earbuds and from the surroundings. Using this mode, I was able to check work related videos while listening to what my colleagues were saying and listen to some music without missing any announcements in the subway.

Longer Battery Life and Easy Battery Charging

Galaxy Buds lasts up to six hours when used for listening to music, and five hours for making phone calls. Galaxy Buds lasted a whole day with just a single charge when I listened to some music and made a few phone calls during my commute and working hours. Of course, as the Galaxy Buds case act as a charger, the earbuds can last longer. It comes in handy while on a trip or on a long flight.

The newly mounted wireless charging feature also adds convenience. I just put the earbuds back inside the case and place it on a wireless charger or a Galaxy S102. It is completely wireless, in a sense that it doesn’t require a cable when being charged either. Thanks to this feature, users can be relieved from the stress of constantly checking the remaining battery life.

All in all, users are in good hands with the Galaxy Buds, in various aspects including sound quality and battery life – not to mention the sleek, cute design and a comfortable fit. Galaxy Buds handle quite nicely some inconveniences users might have experienced with other wireless earphones. For those who are looking for the ‘ultimate’ wireless earphones, Galaxy Buds will make a good choice.

1 Sound Field is a virtual space created by sound to provide the most realistic listening experience. Sound fields are usually controlled through the residual sounds and equalizer.

2 According to tests conducted by Samsung Electronics, the battery lasts 100 minutes after a 15-minute charge. The exact time may vary according to individual user’s tendencies. ‘Wireless PowerShare’ is limited to Galaxy S10 series and will stop sharing battery power once the smartphone’s battery falls below 30 percent.

Samsung Electronics’ new Wireless PowerShare technology allows you to use your Galaxy S10 to recharge compatible smartphones and wearables1 without the need for additional cables. It’s a simple and convenient way to keep your devices powered up when you’re on the go.

To learn more about the development process behind the new flagship line’s powerhouse battery, Samsung Newsroom sat down with developers who helped bring the battery to life – Hyeonsu Lee, Hongjung Son, Yusu Kim and Juhyang Lee – as well as Product Planner Jeongmin Moon.

(Clockwise from left) Yusu Kim, Hyeonsu Lee, Hongjung Son, Juhyang Lee, and Jeongmin Moon

Changing Charging for the Better

According to Product Planner Jeongmin Moon, the development team incorporated Wireless PowerShare technology into the Galaxy S10 line to offer users the freedom to go about their day without being tied down by cables and chargers.

“We wanted to solve the inconvenience of having to carry around multiple chargers and cables when you’re out and about, or having to interrupt your day to stop at places like cafes just to charge your phone,” said Moon. “So we came up with the idea to essentially make the Galaxy S10 a wireless charger in and of itself.”

Since the release of the Galaxy S6, the first Galaxy device to offer wireless charging, more and more smartphones and wearables have begun to feature the technology as well. This, Yusu Kim noted, is another reason why Samsung prioritized incorporating wireless battery-sharing technology into the Galaxy S10 line.

“Wireless PowerShare allows you to easily share your battery’s power anytime, anywhere,” said Kim. “And as more devices begin to support wireless charging, more people will be able to experience the convenience that the technology creates.”

The technology behind wireless battery sharing and wireless charging is quite similar. A wireless charger receives DC (direct current) charge and converts it to AC (alternating current) with the battery coil before transmitting it to the receiving smartphone. The phone will then convert the AC charge back to DC and save the energy in the battery. Each Galaxy S10 device features a circuit that enables this two-way conversion, which essentially allows the phones serve as wireless chargers as well.

As mentioned above, the list of Wireless PowerShare-compatible devices includes not only smartphones, but, in an industry first, wearables1 like Samsung’s Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds as well. As Juhyang Lee explained, the process of enabling the technology to work with such a wide range of devices was quite a difficult task.

“The sizes of these devices’ batteries are all different, so the most difficult part of the process was finding an optimal spot for the receiving coils that would result in maximum efficiency,” Lee explained. With the smartwatch, she recalled “the receiving coil was particularly small, so it took some time to find the most efficient approach. However, after months and months of extensive research, we produced a solution that meets our strict reliability standards.”

A Smarter Approach to Battery Management

Of course, in order to share its charge with another device, your Galaxy S10’s battery must possess enough power to efficiently operate your phone. (At least 30 percent, to be precise.) To offer users more freedom to utilize this useful function, the Galaxy S10 line features AI technology that optimizes battery usage based on how you use your phone.

(From left) Hongjung Son and Hyeonsu Lee

When building this technology, the developers focused particularly on the battery consumption of infrequently used apps. As Hongjung Son explained, “Out of all the apps that users have on their phones, only a small number are used every day. And the ones that aren’t used consume battery power in the background.”

“To limit these apps’ background activities,” he continued, “we incorporated AI technology that organizes apps into different categories, such as ‘frequently used,’ ‘occasionally used,’ and ‘rarely used.’”

The team also enabled the new smartphones’ Adaptive Power Saving mode to activate automatically2 based on users’ usage patterns. Hyeonsu Lee described how it works: “If, for example, a user usually uses their phone for 30 minutes on their way to work, Adaptive Power Saving mode will automatically activate if their commute happens to get extended.”

“And because this mode is AI-powered,” he added, “the more it’s used, the more accurate it becomes.”

The efficiency of the Galaxy S10’s battery has been amplified with stronger hardware. At 7.8mm thick, it’s thinner than the Galaxy S9’s 8.5mm battery, and its capacity has been increased by 10 percent (from 3000-3500mAh to 3400-4100mAh)3.

A Powerful Vision

Each member of the product planning and development teams agrees that Samsung’s latest battery innovations will unlock unprecedented user experiences.

Moon concluded the interview by shedding some light on the company’s ultimate goals for its charging technology. “With Wireless PowerShare, we not only expect to resolve some of the inconvenient aspects of charging your devices,” said Moon. “We also expect people to communicate and engage with one another more.”

“Listening carefully to users’ feedback has enabled us to consistently improve our Galaxy smartphones,” added Kim, “and it will continue to do so. Going forward, we’ll continue to strive to develop battery technology that offers the very best in terms of users’ convenience and experience.”

1 Using Wireless PowerShare, you can charge Samsung and Qi-certified phones, and wearables such as Galaxy S9, S9+, S8, S8+, S8 Active, S7, S7 edge, S7 Active, S6, S6 edge, S6 Active, S6 edge+, Note9, Note8, Note FE, Note5, and wearables such as Galaxy Watch Active, Gear Sport, Gear S3, Galaxy Watch (46/42mm), and Galaxy Buds. It may not work with certain accessories, covers, or other brand devices. Wireless PowerShare may also affect call reception or data services, depending on your network environment.

2 Users may specify whether or not they’d like Adaptive Power Saving mode to automatically activate in their Galaxy S10’s settings.

The Galaxy S10 line’s premium hardware is backed by machine learning-based software that makes it easy for users to get the most out of their phone.

Brand new power-sharing capabilities, AI-powered performance enhancement, and Intelligent Wi-Fi support make Samsung Electronics’ newest flagships its smartest devices yet. Let’s examine some of the ways that these exciting innovations will change how users connect, charge and power through their day.

Sharing Is Caring

Samsung’s Galaxy S10 offerings are not only incredibly powerful in and of themselves. They also come packed with cutting-edge technologies that add a whole new dimension to powering other mobile devices.

The smartphones’ built-in charging pad and new Wireless PowerShare technology allow users to use their phone to easily recharge compatible Qi-certified smartphones, and even wearables.1 This means that if your Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch Active are running low on power, you can top off their charge with your Galaxy S10. There’s no need for additional plugs or cables when sharing battery power, which makes the function perfect for urgent situations when you just can’t find an outlet.

The Galaxy S10 also allows you to charge your phone and another compatible device simultaneously using a single wired charger. This is especially handy when traveling, as it allows users to leave more cords and chargers at home.

The smartphones’ support for Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 enables them to charge up to 33 percent2 faster than the Galaxy S9 when using Samsung’s new Wireless Charging Duo Pad, which also features a Turbo Cooling Fan that reduces heat for faster, safer charging. The Galaxy S10’s support for this technology allows it to spend less time on charging docks and more time in your hands, ready to streamline your day.

Personalized Performance

Because each of us utilizes our smartphone differently, the Galaxy S10 features advanced, AI-powered software that optimizes performance based on users’ unique usage patterns.

The smartphones’ Intelligent Performance Enhancer automatically adjusts settings for the battery, CPU, RAM, and even the temperature of your device to ensure stable, snappy performance. So frequently used apps launch faster, games run smoother, and your phone works harder when you need it the most. And because the technology constantly learns and adjusts based on your personal habits, it becomes more tailored and useful the more you use your phone.

The devices also feature an Adaptive Power Saving mode, which optimizes battery performance based on app use. This innovative technology categorizes apps into five groups based on how often they’re used, and regulates power usage to help you get the most out of your phone’s battery.

Support for Smarter Wi-Fi

The Galaxy S10 also introduces a dynamic duo of technologies designed to bring an end to the days of spotty Wi-Fi connections.

The first, Intelligent Wi-Fi, allows the devices to seamlessly switch between Wi-Fi and LTE networks in order to foster safe and uninterrupted connections. It uses machine learning to recognize when you’re in an enclosed location where the Wi-Fi might be unreliable, such as an elevator, and it can tell when you’re on the move, like when you’re in a car or walking down the street. As soon as your Galaxy S10 registers changes like these, it will quickly and seamlessly switch to an LTE network connection, so you don’t miss a beat. In fact, it switches from Wi-Fi to data more than twice as fast as before.

Intelligent Wi-Fi can also help users steer clear of Wi-Fi networks that may put them at risk for phishing and malware attacks. The technology protects your phone against potentially malicious IP connections in advance, and will warn you before you’re able to connect. Should your phone encounter a risky Wi-Fi connection, it will alert you with a pop-up asking whether you’d still like to connect.

The Galaxy S10 devices are also the first phones to boast support for the next generation of Wi-Fi technology: Wi-Fi 6.3 Up to 20 percent faster than the previous Wi-Fi standard, Wi-Fi 6 takes downloading and uploading content to the next level. The smartphones’ support for the technology opens the door for much faster downloads – enabling users to download multi-gigabit movie files in mere seconds.

In crowded areas, such as airports and concert venues, Wi-Fi 6 allows users to enjoy four times faster network connections than other users in the same location. And perhaps best of all, because it consumes less battery than other Wi-Fi standards, it enables your phone to save power for when you need it most.

The Power to Do More

We’ve only just scratched the surface of the Galaxy S10’s performance upgrades – and there’s plenty to be excited about.

In addition to allowing users to seamlessly switch between Wi-Fi and LTE connections, the Galaxy S10 offers the fastest LTE speeds available. The devices are the first in the world to support download speeds of up to 2.0Gbps – an improvement of 0.8Gbps when compared to the Galaxy S9 – which means users can stream and connect faster than ever before. And speaking of speed, the Galaxy S10 5G, Samsung’s first 5G smartphone, is primed to take connection speeds to bold new levels by opening the door for users to experience network speeds up to roughly 20 times faster than 4G.

The devices also feature a next-generation 7/8 nm application processor (AP)4 that significantly upgrades CPU and GPU performance – by 29 percent and 37 percent, respectively – when compared to the Galaxy S9. Its exercise, sleep, stress and health tracking features make Galaxy Watch Active a personal lifestyle coach for those seeking a healthier body and mind. It combines the best of the Galaxy heritage with improved fitness and wellbeing features.

Blood Pressure Monitoring1: New to the Galaxy wearable line, Galaxy Watch Active puts smarter blood pressure tracking on your wrist. Download My BP Lab, the research app jointly developed with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), directly to Galaxy Watch Active to monitor blood pressure and keep better track of your physical health every day.

Everyday Peace of Mind: Managing stress is now less stressful with Stress Tracker on the Galaxy Watch Active. Keep your stress levels in check and guide you towards long-term health. You can start breathing exercises to bring you back in balance directly from the stress widget.

Easy Fitness Tracking: Choose your activity and get started. It’s as easy as that. Galaxy Watch Active keeps up with you by auto-detecting when you run, bike, row, use the elliptical trainer2, or start a dynamic workout. You can manually engage in more than 39 activities, set daily goals and monitor your progress.

Galaxy Watch Active enriches your lifestyle and expands your connected experience through seamless integration across the Galaxy ecosystem. Galaxy Watch Active is compatible with Android and iOS and offers real-time coaching, indoor/outdoor activity tracking and features popular third-party apps—including Under Armour, Spotify and Strava. You can use your voice to control Galaxy Watch Active with Bixby’s voice capabilities which enable you to make calls or send messages without ever picking up your phone.

Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e: Everyday Fitness for Everyone

Made for all types of fitness enthusiasts, from casual runners to athletes, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e support active lifestyles. With thin, lightweight bodies, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e are easy to style and comfortable to wear all week long.

The slim and fashionable Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e enable easy and intuitive tracking to help you reach your fitness goals. Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e automatically start tracking your activity when you walk, run, bike, row, hop on the elliptical trainer or start a general dynamic workout. You can also manually select from more than 90 different activities in the Samsung Health app on your smartphone, and Galaxy Fit/Galaxy Fit e will automatically start to track your chosen workout. Plus, with enhanced sleep analysis and smart stress management, you can monitor your wellbeing at any time of the day.

Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e are easy to interact with on the go, thanks to a simple and intuitive UX and a user-friendly smart experience. Receive alerts and messages or check the widget which includes information synced straight from your smartphone —like alarm, calendar or weather—without ever needing to touch your phone. When you travel to a new time zone, your Galaxy Fit will also automatically display a dual-clock watch face to make it easier to manage your schedule. Both devices are water resistant of 5ATM3, so they can easily go with you from the shower to the pool to the rest of your day.

Galaxy Buds: The In-Ear Lifestyle Companion

Galaxy Buds are the ultimate cord-free earbuds for those who want a seamlessly connected experience on the go. With their truly comfortable form factor, easy controls, clear and smart sound, and compact size—they are an everyday in-ear lifestyle companion.

Galaxy Buds offer a supreme listening experience, with sound by AKG. Enhanced Ambient Sound allows you to hear your surroundings clearly even while the buds are in your ears, so you can remain aware of your environment at the same time as you take a phone call or listen to your favorite tunes. Premium sound extends to the sound of your voice, as well. The Adaptive Dual Microphone uses one inner microphone and one outer microphone in each earbud, so you can deliver your voice clearly in both loud and quiet environments.

Galaxy Buds keep up with you all day, with up to six hours of Bluetooth streaming, and up to five hours of calls. Plus, their compact case holds a charge for up to seven hours4, and gives the Galaxy Buds 1.7 hours on a 15-minute quick charge. With wireless charging and device-to-device power sharing, you can also get a quick charging boost on the go from Galaxy S10 which is the latest Samsung smartphone.

Galaxy Buds integrate with Bixby on the latest Galaxy mobile devices, so you can activate your intelligent assistant quickly without ever picking up your phone. Simply use your voice to make calls, send text messages or check the battery life of your earbuds.
