When something doesn’t feel quite right, quickly finding out what’s wrong can make all the difference. The built-in Diagnostics feature checks the device — including its battery, charging, sensors, touch response, and connectivity — to help pinpoint the issue and guide users to the next step, whether that’s a suggested solution or a repair request.

Users can also access Bixby⁴ from Warranty and care to ask about an issue and get help on the spot. For example, if a user asks, “My battery is draining too fast. What should I do?” Bixby can walk them through possible solutions step by step. It’s a convenient way to get answers to everyday questions without switching screens.

When professional help is needed, users can tap the “Request a repair” to book a repair at a Samsung-authorized service center without having to make phone calls. All repairs are carried out by Samsung-certified technicians using genuine parts. If users are unable to visit a service center, they can start remote support from the same screen and get help directly on their device.

Warranty and care also makes device care service information easy to check. After selecting an issue, users can view estimated repair costs⁵ for major parts alongside the cost of the same repair with Samsung Care+. Performed by pianist Yekwon Sunwoo, Frédéric Chopin’s “Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2” adds a lyrical dimension to everyday life. Sunwoo became the first Korean to win the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017 and holds the record for the most international competition wins by a Korean pianist. More than 190 years after Chopin composed the piece, Sunwoo offers a fresh interpretation that can now be heard on the latest Galaxy devices.

Chopin’s Nocturne for One UI 9

Samsung’s choice of Chopin’s “Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2” as a new ringtone carries special significance. To celebrate the release of One UI 9, Samsung selected the piece from Chopin’s Op. 9 — a fitting nod to the shared number. Long cherished worldwide for its serene melody and delicate emotional expression, the nocturne lends itself naturally to alarms that start the day and ringtones that signal incoming calls.

The new nocturne ringtone debuts with One UI 9 on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.

Capturing Chopin for Galaxy

The recording took place at Samsung Galaxy Sound Studios, located at Samsung Seoul R&D Campus — the very space where Galaxy’s sound identity is shaped.

Byeong Joon Hwang and Young Jae Jang of Sound Mirror Korea — who have collaborated with Samsung on several projects — oversaw the recording and mixing, carefully preserving the nuances of the performance. Master piano technician Hyungu Kang refined the instrument’s tone, ensuring clarity and precision in every note.

“The warm piano tone and the acoustics of the studio made it an ideal setting for performing the nocturne,” said Sunwoo. “It was meaningful to bring the comfort and timeless emotion of classical music to Galaxy devices used by people around the world.”

A Classical Touch to Everyday Life

More than a simple alert, the new ringtone carries the lingering emotion of classical music into the devices people turn to throughout the day. This connection reflects Galaxy’s philosophy of delivering sound experiences that extend beyond the device itself.

“The nocturne evokes the stillness of the night, and we wanted its gentle resonance to weave naturally into the rhythms of the day,” said Myoung Woo Nam, Principal Sound Designer, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We hope that encountering classical music in everyday life will create special moments for users.”

Samsung will continue to apply a consistent sound philosophy across its products to enhance the user experience and further expand Galaxy’s distinctive sound identity.

The full experience of One UI 9 will be introduced with upcoming Galaxy flagship devices later this year, which will include advanced AI features that will make mobile interaction easy and effortless.

What’s New in One UI 9 Beta

One UI 9 beta introduces several updates across key areas of the mobile experience.

Samsung Notes¹ gains creative new tools, including decorative tapes and a wider variety of pen line styles. Meanwhile, the Contacts app now offers direct access to Creative Studio² for creating personalized profile cards without the need to switch between apps.

The updated Quick Panel³ gives users greater control over its layout. Brightness, sound and media player are each independently adjustable, with more size options to suit individual preferences.

Accessibility is significantly improved by an adjustable Mouse Key speed that enables smoother cursor control and a combined TalkBack package that brings together features previously offered separately by Google and Samsung. The new Text Spotlight feature — which displays selected text larger or more clearly in a floating window — has also been added to make reading easier.

One UI 9 also introduces enhanced protection against suspicious apps and potential threats: when new high-risk apps are detected, it now warns users, blocks execution and installation, and recommends deletion through security policy updates.⁴

Availability

The One UI 9 beta program will be available to Galaxy S26 series users in select markets, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the U.K. and the U.S starting this week. Galaxy S26 series users can apply to join the beta program via the Samsung Members app.
