Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of “Trips,” a new feature in Samsung Wallet designed to help Samsung Galaxy users organize and manage travel-related experiences in one place. Created for travelers who want a seamless experience and faster access to important details during a journey, Trips brings eligible travel items together in Samsung Wallet to offer key travel information when they need it.

“Travel plans are often scattered across confirmations, apps and messages, and that creates friction at the exact moments people need clarity,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By bringing Trips to Samsung Wallet, we’re giving Galaxy users a single place to keep their trip details organized and stay one step ahead as their plans unfold.”

The new feature introduces a Trip timeline that brings all travel-related plans together in a single view, adding structure to busy itineraries and providing a smoother journey from start to finish. When users add eligible items to Samsung Wallet, Trips groups them together based on factors such as time and location, helping travelers keep itineraries in one place despite details coming from different sources.

Users can manage a range of travel-related experiences, including bookings such as hotels, flight itineraries, car rentals and excursions — as well as tickets for buses, trains, theme parks and sporting events. Trips also supports the ability to manually add itinerary items and include memos alongside saved items to capture key reminders, plans and notes throughout the journey.

Trips underscores Samsung’s ongoing commitment to evolving Samsung Wallet into a more helpful companion in everyday life. Over time, the company will continue to expand Samsung Wallet by adding new features and partner experiences, making it even easier for Samsung Galaxy users to access and manage the essentials they rely on, including while traveling.

Samsung Wallet provides peace of mind to users through protection from Samsung Knox, Samsung’s industry-leading security platform. Samsung Knox uses protections such as encryption and biometric authentication to help safeguard sensitive information, so only the device owner can access those data.

Samsung Wallet is built as an easy-to-use, secure platform that helps Galaxy users organize everyday essentials — from payment cards to boarding passes — in one mobile application. With a refined interface and seamless access, Samsung Wallet is designed to keep what users need within reach while supporting an open ecosystem through trusted partner integrations that expand user experiences over time.

Availability

Trips will be available in Samsung Wallet starting April 2026 on compatible Samsung Galaxy mobile phones1 in Korea, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of Digital Home Key, a new feature within Samsung Wallet built on Aliro, a standardized smart lock access protocol that enables Samsung Galaxy users to unlock compatible smart door locks using their smartphone. Beginning in March, this new feature expands Samsung Wallet’s digital key capabilities beyond vehicles to the home, offering a secure and convenient way for users to unlock their homes.

“As we continue to evolve Samsung Wallet, delivering trusted mobile experiences remains at the core of our innovation,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Through close collaboration with our partners and in alignment with the Aliro standard, Digital Home Key brings the same level of security and ease Samsung Galaxy users expect from Samsung Wallet to their homes.”

Samsung Wallet serves as a single, secure destination for essential items such as payment cards, IDs, passes and digital keys. With the introduction of Digital Home Key, Samsung Wallet now supports access to both vehicles and homes, integrated across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem to support users’ daily routines.

Once a compatible smart door lock is set up through Samsung SmartThings1 using Matter, the global smart home standard, users can add a Digital Home Key to Samsung Wallet as part of the door lock onboarding process. Depending on device and lock capabilities, users can unlock their door by tapping their smartphone using near-field communication (NFC) technology,2 using hands-free access with ultra-wideband (UWB)’s3 proximity detection or remotely through the app.

Samsung Wallet’s Digital Home Key adopts the Aliro standard, an industry-standardized communication protocol developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), to enable secure, interoperable digital keys for smart locks. Along these lines, Samsung is collaborating with leading smart lock brands to support Samsung Wallet Digital Home Key, including Aqara, Nuki, Schlage and Xthings.4

Digital Home Keys are securely stored within Samsung Wallet on the device and safeguarded by Samsung Knox,5 Samsung’s industry-leading security platform. The solution is designed to align with EAL6+6 grade certification standards, providing robust protection against unauthorized access to digital keys.

With this level of protection, users maintain control over their Digital Home Key, even if a device is misplaced. Access can be remotely managed or removed using Samsung Find, while biometric or PIN authentication within Samsung Wallet ensures that only authorized users can manage and use their home keys.

Availability

Samsung Wallet Digital Home Key began rolling out in select regions in March 2026 and will expand in alignment with the launch timeline of compatible smart lock brands.

Samsung Electronics today announced that Samsung Wallet now supports Digital Key compatibility for select Toyota vehicles,1 starting in January 2026. This new feature will enable users of compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphones to unlock, lock and start their Toyota vehicles, providing a convenient and secure driving experience.

“Samsung Wallet is designed to remove friction from daily life through the combination of seamless convenience and uncompromising security,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By bringing Digital Key support to Toyota vehicles, starting with the 2026 Toyota RAV4, we’re extending those benefits to more people, so that Galaxy users can get on the road faster, safer and more easily.”

Samsung Wallet gives Samsung Galaxy users a single, secure destination for essentials including payment cards, IDs, passes and various digital keys. Its integration across the broader Samsung Galaxy ecosystem allows for smooth connectivity and enhanced security designed to support users’ daily routines.

UWB technology, a standardized communication protocol set by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), also strengthens overall security by reducing the risk of unauthorized vehicle access with precise and reliable functionality. Galaxy users can also share their Digital Keys with trusted contacts through Samsung Wallet. This shared access can be updated or revoked at any time, providing flexibility for multi-driver households or temporary use.

As part of Samsung Wallet, Digital Keys are securely stored directly on the device and protected by Samsung Knox,4 Samsung’s industry-leading security platform.
Samsung Electronics today announced that Samsung Wallet now supports Digital Key access for select Porsche vehicles, starting with the Porsche Macan (MY26) and extending to additional models, including the Cayenne Electric next year. As part of a streamlined driving experience, users can now lock, unlock and start their Porsche vehicles using a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone.1

With Samsung Wallet, users gain intuitive and secure access to their Porsche vehicles through a single, unified interface. An easy swipe-up gesture and consolidated view of ID cards, payment methods and keys allow Samsung Galaxy users to manage their essentials all in one place — without switching between multiple apps.

“We are pleased to bring Samsung Galaxy users a richer digital experience through our collaboration with Porsche,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Connecting mobile phones and vehicles through Digital Keys reflects the seamless convenience that Samsung Galaxy stands for.”

“For the first time at Porsche, we’re introducing Digital Key in our newest electric models, Macan and Cayenne. Through our collaboration with Samsung, we’re combining innovation with everyday convenience. It’s a perfect reflection of how technology can enhance the premium driving experience,” said Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan.

On Samsung Galaxy devices with Samsung Wallet Digital Key support, Porsche Digital Keys are protected by EAL6+ grade security certification, which keeps keys securely embedded on the device and helps safeguard against unauthorized access. Users can also share their Digital Key wirelessly with trusted contacts through Samsung Wallet, with this access including simple controls that grant or revoke access at any time.

To prevent unauthorized access, Digital Keys use Ultra-Wideband (UWB)2 or Near Field Communication (NFC)3 technologies, based on standards set by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) and the Fine Ranging (FiRa) Consortium.

If a device with a Digital Key is ever lost or stolen, users can remotely lock or delete the key through the Samsung Find service. Biometric or PIN authentication in Samsung Wallet also adds an extra layer of protection backed by the defense-grade security provided by Samsung Knox.

Setting up a Digital Key for a Porsche vehicle and adding it to Samsung Wallet is simple: users can install the My Porsche app, link their vehicle and follow the guided steps to add the key to their Samsung Wallet for convenient and secure access.

Availability

Digital Key functionality for select Porsche models begins rolling out through Samsung Wallet this month in Europe, followed by a global rollout4 aligned with the launch timeline of Porsche vehicles.

Samsung Electronics today announced that Samsung Wallet will soon support digital key compatibility for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, starting in July 2025. With this new integration, Galaxy users1 will be able to now experience a more seamless way to lock, unlock and start their Mercedes-Benz2 vehicle from their smartphone.

“We’re excited to bring Mercedes-Benz drivers the incredible convenience that comes with Samsung Digital Key access,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz advances our vision of providing effortless access to tech-enabled experiences across the Galaxy ecosystem.”

“Bringing convenience and luxury to our customers is our top priority as we strive to bring them the best vehicle experience possible,” said Stefan Blossey, Director of Body-/Comfort-E/E, UI Components at Mercedes-Benz AG. “Samsung Digital Key allows Mercedes-Benz to continue offering our customers convenient access and connectivity to their vehicles.”

Samsung Wallet is a versatile platform that allows Galaxy users to organize digital keys, payment methods, identification cards and more — all in one secure and easy-to-use application. Launched in June 2022, Samsung Wallet offers a seamless interface protected by government-grade security from Samsung Knox.3 It smoothly integrates across the broader Galaxy ecosystem to offer powerful connectivity and fortified security for users in their everyday lives.

With the addition of the Mercedes-Benz Digital Key on Samsung Wallet, users can experience a new level of convenience at their fingertips. Once inside the vehicle, Samsung’s Digital Key allows drivers to start their vehicles without using their physical keys or even removing their smartphone from their pockets. They can also securely share the digital key with friends or family through an easy-to-use interface that lets them grant or restrict access as needed.

The integration of the Mercedes-Benz Digital Key with Samsung Wallet is also backed by Galaxy’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure and reliable mobile experience for users. Digital keys are securely embedded within the device, meeting rigorous EAL6+4 security standards and providing protection against unauthorized access. By utilizing Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies, a standardized communication protocol set by the Car Connectivity Consortium, the digital key ensures precise functionality, significantly reducing the risk of unwanted attempts to access the vehicle.

If a device containing the digital key is misplaced or stolen, users can remotely lock or delete their digital keys via the Samsung Find service, further safeguarding their vehicles. With biometric or PIN-based user authentication requirements, Samsung Wallet carefully protects vehicles, ensuring every interaction remains private and secure.

Samsung Electronics today announced that it will provide an even smarter and more streamlined Samsung Wallet experience to French residents and tourists in France. Beginning this summer, Samsung Wallet will support Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) integration on Samsung Galaxy devices,1 ensuring seamless public transportation services across the Île-de-France region through Navigo Travel Card access. The Add to Wallet function will also make it easy for visitors to the region to enjoy popular Paris attractions and sites. And together with new partner, Air France, Samsung Wallet will enable a convenient flight ticket management experience on Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

“Samsung is proud to drive ease of access through technological innovation for Île-de-France Mobilités and Air France,” said Woncheol Chai, Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “By integrating all-new travel management features into Samsung Wallet, we are bringing new levels of convenience to French locals as well as to visitors to France, just in time for a busy summer travel season.”

Enabling Hassle-Free Local Transport in Paris

This summer, residents and visitors can enjoy a seamless public transport experience within Île-de-France region through global IDFM support.2 Users can easily access the IDF Mobilités app through a pre-loaded shortcut displayed under the Transit menu of Samsung Wallet.

In addition to efficient city navigation, travelers can leave behind ticket queues and unmanned ticket booths. Samsung Galaxy users can simply tap their devices to board or transfer buses, metros and Réseau Express Régional (RER) lines,3 reducing the need for physical cards or tickets and unlocking a hassle-free transport experience.

Unlocking Simplified Travel in France

Even beyond Paris, Samsung Galaxy users can enjoy the simplicity of payment card-based transit across multiple French cities, including Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille and Aix-en-Provence. Plus, the RoissyBus and OrlyBus shuttle provide quick, direct links for travelers between the city center and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. With this feature, Samsung Galaxy users can just tap their device to pay and go,4 boosting transport speed and accessibility.

For international travel, the Add to Wallet function is now being extended to Air France and partner flights, allowing Samsung Galaxy users to add boarding passes to Samsung Wallet.5 What’s more, travelers from abroad can rest assured that international payments and Add to Wallet capabilities will work smoothly when visiting France. Upon arriving at their destination, travelers will be prompted via push notification6 to explore these features, ensuring user awareness of all that Samsung Wallet has to offer during their visit to the region — from enhanced sight-seeing and local transport to simplified international travel.

Enhancing Tourism Across Attractions

Samsung Wallet is also enabling the Add to Wallet function for tickets to iconic landmarks and other attractions, making them all conveniently accessible from a Samsung Galaxy device. Visitors can explore all the entertainment France has to offer with ease, from sites like the Palace of Versailles to over 200 cinemas.

1 IDFM integration available on all Samsung Galaxy smartphones that are compatible with Samsung Wallet version 5.6.53 or higher.
2 IDFM transportation service available to use only in France for users from all countries where Samsung Wallet is available, with the exception of India, Mainland China and Korea.

Depending on your car’s settings, there are two ways to unlock your car using UWB. You can open your car door by pressing the door handle while your phone is in your bag or pocket, or you can automatically unlock it simply by approaching the car with your smartphone.3 Both ways can be used interchangeably, so you can always choose the option that makes life easier.

What about when someone needs to borrow your car? You can choose to share your digital key with three of your contacts by selecting them from a list and clicking ‘Send digital key’. This will send a text message that guides them through setting up a digital key on their Galaxy smartphone. Once you share the key, the recipient can start using it immediately by adding it to their Samsung Pass. You can even control how long they have access to the key, and revoke access when needed.
