Many researchers and engineers at Samsung Electronics publish verified data collected from their projects as research papers. While some advanced studies make it into world-renown journals like Nature, many studies also explore topics that are relevant to consumers’ daily lives including energy saving, wind-free air conditioning, dehumidifying and more. With much of the world experiencing intense hot weather due to global heat waves caused by climate change and El Niño, Samsung Newsroom sat down with Samsung engineers to share some useful, research-backed tips on how consumers can best utilize their air conditioners.

▲ (From the left) Seongjin Lim, Sangwoo Lee, Jun Hwang and Hyeongkyu Cho from Samsung Electronics’ Air Solution R&D Group

▲ Cover pages of research papers recently published by members of the Air Solution Lab

#1 Use Dry Mode on Highly Humid Days

In the summer, high humidity can be more unpleasant for people than the hot weather itself. In these instances, the engineers recommend using different air conditioner modes.

“It’s good to choose the right mode based on indoor conditions,” said Jun Hwang from the Air Solution R&D Group. “Air conditioners function by sucking in hot, humid air that goes through the cold Heat Exchanger inside the indoor unit before emitting cool air to lower indoor temperatures and humidity. While the basic functionalities of Cooling and Dry modes are similar, they work in different ways depending on the result you are trying to achieve.”

This raises the question: What is the difference between Cooling and Dry modes?

Put simply, Cooling is ideal for quickly lowering the indoor air temperature whereas Dry is perfect for reducing the humidity within a space. The biggest difference lies in the compressor and air volume.

The goal of Cooling is to match the temperature set by the user. After sensing the indoor temperature, the air conditioner emits cool air and adjusts the compressor output in the outdoor unit to maintain the desired temperature with minimal energy consumption.

Similarly, Dry (Dehumidification) mode is used to lower humidity as much as possible based on the temperature set by the user. The air conditioner removes moisture without changing the temperature by sensing both the indoor temperature and relative humidity before adjusting the air volume and compressor output. For example, if the target temperature has been met but not the humidity, the device will continue to run the compressor while reducing the air volume to extract moisture without further lowering the temperature.

▲ The residential environment test lab is simulated to resemble actual homes for effective research and development on how to use air conditioners.

▲ Samsung Electronics Digital Appliances (DA) Business (2015). An Experimental Study on Dehumidifying Efficiency and Thermal Comfort Improvement for the Inverter-driven Residential Air Conditioner. The Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea, p253-256.

According to a research paper, engineers confirmed that Dry Mode was approximately 2.7 times more effective at removing moisture than Cooling Mode when operating at the same temperature in an environment mimicking high humidity periods. In fact, Dry decreased the relative room humidity from 75% to 55%, and the discomfort index dipped from 73 to 70 — with participants who felt discomfort dropping from 50% to 10%.

Since temperature and weather conditions fluctuate throughout the day, it can be a hassle to manually switch between modes. To optimize the cooling experience and maintain optimal room conditions, Samsung engineers recommend using AI Auto Cooling,1 which automatically switches to the most appropriate mode between WindFree, Fast and Normal Cooling.

“The AI Auto Cooling feature switches to the appropriate mode that suits each user’s household by analyzing usage patterns and external conditions of both indoor and outdoor units,” said Hwang.

Usage patterns are sent to the AI server each day — with regular updates occurring every three to four days — to provide users with more a more personalized cooling experience.

#2 Digital Inverter Boost Promotes Energy Efficiency

People often avoid turning on their air conditioners for long periods of time over fears of spiked electricity bills. However, thanks to the highly energy-efficient Digital Inverter Boost technology, users can enjoy pleasantly cool rooms during the hot summer months while reducing energy usage up to 73%.

To understand why energy usage surges, Sangwoo Lee from the Air Solution R&D Group explained the differences between air conditioner operating time and occupied zone. “Sometimes, people briefly turn off their air conditioners before turning them on again when it gets hot — repeating this over and over because they’re worried about raising their electricity bills,” Lee said. “However, this can actually cause the bill to increase even more.”

Samsung engineers conducted tests to measure how much energy is saved when an air conditioner is turned off and on versus when an air conditioner is operating continuously. Although results may vary depending on the size of the area and the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the engineers concluded that keeping the air conditioner on is better when leaving spaces for less than 90 minutes.

“When the air conditioner was turned on after 30 minutes, energy consumption was 5% higher compared to continuous usage. When turned on after 60 minutes, it was 2% higher. However, after more than 90 minutes, turning off the air conditioner and turning it back on later resulted in reduced energy consumption,”2 said Seongjin Lim from the Air Solution R&D Group.

Lim explained that the Digital Inverter Boost helps to keep temperatures consistent while optimizing operational efficiency. “The latest air conditioners utilize the Digital Inverter Boost technology to maintain desired temperatures with less fluctuation. Frequently turning air conditioners on and off is inefficient as more energy is needed to lower the room temperature again.”

In addition, Lim recommended closing the doors of rooms that are not in use and only cooling necessary areas. “Bigger spaces have more volume, meaning more energy is required to cool them down. By closing doors and reducing the size of the area that requires cooling, users are able to save energy,” he said.

#3 Utilize WindFree Cooling Mode

Samsung air conditioners are equipped with WindFree Cooling to optimize energy efficiency and maintain cool indoor temperatures for users who find strong breezes uncomfortable.

▲ Engineers conduct various tests related to energy consumption at the residential environment testing lab

With WindFree Cooling, users can create their perfect at-home environment. “WindFree Cooling functions similarly to how a spray bottle works as it spreads air through 23,000 micro air holes,” said Hwang. “The hybrid path combines direct wind and ‘Still Air,’3 acting like the nozzle. To quickly lower the temperature, the airflow blade opens and wind is blown out. When users want to cool their rooms without a strong breeze, the direction of the wind is diverted inside the air conditioner and the blade closes — allowing cool air to be dispersed through the micro air holes on the front panel instead,”4 he explained.

How Cooking May Affect Air Conditioner Performance

Cooking in the summer always presents a dilemma: keeping the windows closed creates stale air but opening them allows hot, humid air to seep in. To prevent this, Samsung engineers recommend utilizing the innovative technologies of SmartThings to keep air cool and fresh.

“Oil mist is created when cooking food with a lot of grease,” said Hyeongkyu Cho from the Air Solution R&D Group. “While using an air conditioner or air purifier will remove some of the oil mist, it can get attached to the Heat Exchanger and lower performance of the machine by blocking filters and emitting unpleasant odors. In these instances, we recommend opening the windows to promote air circulation.”

Cho explained how SmartThings can help create even more pleasant home environments for users. “When cooking on an induction range connected to SmartThings, users can utilize the automated feature that switches off the air conditioner and turns on the hood for customized kitchen air care to quickly remove smoke and steam before turning on the air conditioner again.”

Broadening Consumer Understanding and Technical Research

Although it can be challenging to write a research paper, Samsung engineers highlighted the benefits of pooling their data together to find various conclusions. Hwang explained how meaningful it is to have a group of experts verify the data he produced. “If a retail catalogue’s purpose is to introduce product information in an easy and concise manner to consumers, a research paper is to explain and promote new technology in a more detailed and scholarly manner to experts,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of research papers within the industry by saying, “research papers can highlight the specific advantages of products and technologies while strengthening a company’s credibility.”

▲ Jun Hwang explains the research results and paper-writing process.

“In the past, some consumers believed that operating air conditioners led to high electricity bills. There were many misconceptions about how Cooling and Dry modes affect energy usage,” Hwang continued. “We were able to correct these perceptions through our research papers on air conditioners with inverter technology and explain how to use air conditioners more efficiently.”

Samsung engineers remain committed to helping users better understand their air conditioners for use not only during the summer but year-round.

The air conditioner is no longer just an appliance for the summer – in addition to cooling capabilities, air conditioners today also come with air purification and dehumidification functionalities. However, knowing that your air conditioner is working around the clock can naturally lead to concerns about high electricity bills and your home’s environmental footprint.

Understanding that this is a real worry for many consumers, Samsung Electronics works tirelessly to make its appliances more energy efficient. For example, Samsung’s Wind-Free Air Conditioner features Digital Inverter Boost technology, an energy-saving innovation that reduces the device’s energy consumption by up to 73% compared to traditional fixed-speed type air conditioners.1

Furthermore, the Wind-Free Air Conditioner’s Wind-Free Mode can even cut energy consumption by 77% compared to the unit’s Fast Cooling Mode, even while at maximum output. Samsung Newsroom sat down with two Samsung engineers to learn more about the Wind-Free Air Conditioner and its revolutionary energy-saving technologies.2

(From left) Kilsoo Son and Byoung-Ok Ahn, engineers at Samsung’s HVAC Solution R&D Lab

Reducing Electricity Usage With Digital Inverter Boost Technology

Just as the water in a waterfall cascades from higher ground to lower terrain, so does energy move from high to low. Air conditioners that use compressor technology to lower temperatures have to reduce heat through a process that runs contrary to this natural flow of energy – which is why air conditioners conventionally require a lot of energy to function. “The compressor serves as a pump that circulates the heat, moving matter from a lower point to a higher point,” explained Principal Engineer Byoung-Ok Ahn. “This means that the unit has to consume a lot of electricity.”

To help users save energy, Samsung adopted an inverter compressor – Digital Inverter Boost technology – that can regulate its own revolutions per minute (RPM) to maintain its energy use at maximum efficiency.

A fixed-speed compressor will run at maximum speed until the desired temperature is reached, and will then turn off once this is achieved. If the temperature exceeds this desired rate after the first round of cooling, it will switch on again at maximum output to lower the temperature. This repeated on-and-off process is incredibly energy-intensive, and also creates a fluctuation in room temperature as cooling is turned on and off again.

Inverter technology is more efficient since it simply slows down once the desired temperature is achieved and then only has to speed up slightly once the temperature goes up again, meaning that energy consumption is reduced by up to 73%. This process results in less temperature fluctuation, meaning that users can enjoy a consistently comfortable room temperature.

“The bigger the difference between the room temperature and the desired temperature, the higher the amount of energy that is consumed when the air conditioner is turned on,” noted Ahn. “When we compare the accumulated amount of consumed electricity between the fixed-speed compressor and the inverter compressor, the inverter type is notably more economical than the fixed-speed type since the latter turns on and off repetitively.”

Ahn also provided a tip for getting the most out of your air conditioner. “The most efficient way to use an air conditioner equipped with an inverter compressor is to set the desired temperature at between 24°C and 25°C (between around 75°F and 77°F) and to keep it on continuously when using it. Samsung’s inverter technology performs powerfully and efficiently because the total flux of its motor is maximized and the motor has multiple poles. Furthermore, this technology reduces vibration and noise for user peace of mind.”

Enjoying a Comfortable Breeze at All Times

Often with air conditioners, once the temperature in a room has been reduced to the desired temperature, the continued airflow from the indoor unit can become uncomfortably chilling. Continuous, direct exposure to cold wind can dry out the respiratory system and affect user’s health, making them more sensitive to illnesses. Homes with young children or family members who suffer from respiratory symptoms may be wary about keeping their air conditioner on continuously.

“The Wind-Free Air Conditioner’s Wind-Free Mode was developed to alleviate this inconvenience. The 2020 version of this air conditioner features 23,000 micro air holes, which gently disperse the cold air evenly throughout a room. This way, users can enjoy a cool air stream without being directly exposed to cold wind,” explained Ahn. “Wind-Free Mode can even cut energy consumption by 77% compared to the unit’s Fast Cooling Mode, even while at maximum output.”

Another unique feature of Samsung’s Wind-Free air conditioner is its bigger inlet and fan which allow for more air to be drawn in at once. “The air conditioner’s fan, the diameter of which is 15% bigger than conventional fans, along with the optimized width and angle of the outlet, means that energy consumption is reduced by 10%. Furthermore, air is cooled down to the desired temperature even faster,” said Engineer Kilsoo Son.

※ Figures drawn in comparison to the existing AQV12TWS model

The air conditioner’s inverter technology and its Wind-Free technology work together in a synergy that creates even higher efficiency when it comes to bring users comfort at home. Once the desired room temperature is reached with the air conditioner’s powerful and fast cooling technology, the unit switches to Wind-Free Mode, slowing down the speed of the compressor while keeping the air cool, comfortable and quiet while minimizing electricity consumption.

Changing Modes Automatically for Ultimate User Peace of Mind

As well as its inverter technology and Wind-Free Mode, the 2020 Wind-Free Air Conditioner features other innovative features designed to help reduce users’ electricity bills. When users are not in the room, the device’s motion sensor automatically detects the absence and switches into Wind-Free Mode and raises the desired temperature to save up to 43% more energy.3 The unit’s ECO Mode also reduces the air conditioner’s RPM by up to 35% of its regular rate to reduce electricity consumption if it detects that there are few people in the room or that the ambient temperature is low.4

* 2020 Wind-Free Air Conditioner features motion sensor

The AI Auto Cooling feature learns users’ preferred temperature and creates an optimal operation mode. “The AI Auto Cooling feature will provide users with an optimal setting,” explained Son. “The more users use it, the more it learns about your preferences. I encourage users to use this feature often so that they can easily and automatically enjoy their favorite temperatures without having to flip through settings, wasting energy.”

Users can reduce energy consumption even more with SmartThings. Users can turn off their air conditioner remotely and keep track of their daily, weekly and monthly electricity usage with the SmartThings app. In addition, the ‘My Schedule’ feature of SmartThings lets users set their air conditioner’s operation time, mode, temperature and fan speed remotely.

A Better Future for All With Air Conditioner Innovation

Higher electricity bills are not the only concern when it comes to energy consumption – many consumers are also concerned about how their appliance usage can impact the environment. This is why Samsung strives to make all of its devices, including its air conditioners, more energy-efficient and sustainable for the future. “While we work to provide optimum air cooling solutions, we also strive to ensure that our leading technologies remain energy-efficient,” noted Ahn.

Son echoed this commitment to sustainability. “We will continue to work to develop air conditioners that provide maximum comfort to users at minimum cost while also having a positive impact on our environment, not just for today, but also for the future.”

As we cook at home more and more, little kitchen-related inconveniences and chores are also increasing in frequency and breaking into everyday routines. For example, cleaning grease on a gas stove, once a task undertaken only occasionally, can become a burden when done too regularly – one that can even put you off from using the stove.

Samsung Electronics is committed to reducing such user inconveniences by considering right from the start of the design process which features are needed to answer consumer needs. For example, Samsung’s AddWash Front Load Washer lets you put extra items of clothing into the machine after a cycle has started, and Samsung’s Virtual Flame feature for its electric stovetop cookers glows just like a real flame to alert users to the heat of the cooker and prevent accidents.

In fact, many Samsung appliances feature all kinds of useful functions that have been specifically designed to maximize convenience for consumers. You may have been missing out on some of these handy features – so read on to learn about these multi-level functionalities available across Samsung’s extensive range of appliances.

Level 1: Features to Help You View Your Appliances at a Glance

#Keep Everyone Safe with Virtual Flame

Modern induction cooktops let you cook up delicious meals without the mess occasionally experienced when using gas cooktops. However, there is one potential inconvenience – without fire, it’s sometimes difficult to see whether the stovetop is burning hot or cold.

This is why Samsung developed the Virtual Flame functionality, which glows just as a real flame does to alert users to the heat of the cooker. LED surface lights illuminate pans placed on the stovetop to provide the visual of a gas cooker – still with all the precision of induction cooking. This innovative feature helps those cooking stay safe in a busy kitchen and also keeps children away from open flames.

#Manage Your Food Conveniently with Refrigerator Icons

As we pack our refrigerators with more and more groceries, keeping things organized can be difficult, and we can end up forgetting where we put what. Some food may even go to waste as it sits out of sight, packed away at the back of the bottom shelf. Keeping your fridge organized by food type is also a good idea because some types of foods keep better when stored together.

To make this process easier, drawers in Samsung refrigerators are marked with specific, intuitive icons. Users can find dedicated icons for meat, fish and frozen foods in the freezer compartment and icons for vegetables and fruits in the main refrigerator. With these icons, you can find the food you are looking for when you need it without wasting time.

#Angled Displays for Easy Inspection

In most homes, dishwashers are placed underneath a countertop to maximize space. One inconvenience from this low height placement is that users have to bend down every time they want to check the dishwasher clock. This is why Samsung designed its front-side time display1 to be angled upwards just under the dishwasher’s handle – meaning that you can easily check on your dishwasher load’s progress quickly without straining your back.

#Dedicated Lights for Convenient Clothes Retrieval

Tired of having to deal with misplaced socks after every laundry load? Samsung’s washing machines feature a special light on the internal drum to let you see clearly what is inside and help you get every last piece of clothing out. Located on the upper right side of the drum, the light brightly illuminates the entire drum so that you can quickly and safely check the contents of the machine.

Level 2: Built-in Functionalities that Let You Do More

#Add to a Wash Even When the Cycle Has Started

We have all had moments where we have loaded up and started our washing machines – only to later find a sock or a T-shirt left behind on the bedroom floor.

With Samsung’s AddWash Front Load Washer, you no longer have to wait until the next round of laundry to wash everything you initially wanted to get clean. The washer comes with a dedicated door on the top of the machine that lets you insert extra socks or other items of clothing into the machine, even when a cycle has already started.

#Open Up your Bespoke Refrigerator Without Obstruction

Conventional freestanding refrigerators command a lot of space, especially because users have to make room for the doors to swing open – often, this means refrigerators have to be placed protruding from the rest of the kitchen.

To help users enjoy a refrigerator experience that can suit any space, Samsung’s Bespoke refrigerators feature a specific rotation axis and maximum opening angle of 90°. That means that the refrigerator can be installed like a built-in product without requiring extra room and will not crash into the other kitchen furniture around it when the doors are opened. The Bespoke’s inner drawers are also specially designed to slide smoothly out of the module without hitting the doors for utmost ease of use.

What’s more, if you need to change the location of your Bespoke refrigerator, you can reverse the way the door swings out2 or move the handle to make accessing your food as easy as possible.

#Clean Easily with Magnetic Induction Control Knobs

With Samsung’s induction cooktop, you can enjoy cutting-edge digital technology without sacrificing the familiarity of analog. The cooktop is designed with digital touch controls but also comes with removable magnetic knobs for those who prefer old-school controls. When cleaning the cooktop, users can easily remove the knobs to wipe down the surface without obstruction.

Furthermore, these knobs can be used to tell if your pots and pans are magnetic-grade stainless steel so that you can make the most of your induction cooktop. Place a knob near the base of the pan to see if it sticks – if it does, your pan will work well on Samsung’s induction cooktops.

#Keep the Air Fresh with Auto Clean

Worried about keeping the air inside your air conditioner clean? Let your appliance do the work for you. The Auto Clean function on Samsung’s Wind-Free air conditioner automatically maintains air quality with a three-step process. First, the air conditioner will blow air for 10 minutes to remove any moisture, then check internal humidity using sensors, and continue drying for up to an additional 20 minutes to prevent the build-up of bacteria and odors. Thanks to this automatic and time-saving process, you can rest easy knowing that the air inside your home is hygienic and clean.

Level 3: Hidden Features that Add Convenience Without You Noticing

#Effortlessly Keep Your Samsung Jet Upright

Clutter is one of the things that make a house a home, and while stacks of books or beautiful plants might fill us with comfort when we walk through the door, they can stand in the way of thorough cleaning when vacuuming.

When taking the time to move them out of the way to get in all the nooks and crannies where dust might have settled, it can be a hassle to prop up your vacuum cleaner against a nearby wall or piece of furniture to stop it from falling. A small detail built into the Samsung Jet’s design can help make this easier.

The Samsung Jet features four rubber pads on its battery, strategically placed so that when you lean it against a vertical object such as a wall, it is able to rest securely without the risk of falling or the need for a stand.

#Prevent Water Leakage with the Samsung AirDresser

Samsung’s AirDresser effectively removes lingering dust and odor from your clothes by blasting powerful jets of steam from top to bottom. The steam comes from a water tank inside the wardrobe, and given that AirDressers are usually stored in bedrooms, closets or other rooms without drainage systems, a water leak can quickly become a serious problem.

This is why Samsung’s AirDresser has been designed with a three-stage safety system to block unwanted water flow and prevent leaks. The appliance’s door also features a durable rubber gasket to enhance its sealing capability, and the lower part of the AirDresser features a protruding design to keep all water inside the device.

Level 4: Functionalities Tailored to Suit Lifestyles Around the World

#Cook Indian Cuisine to Perfection

Fashioned specifically for Indian users, Samsung has designed a range of microwave ovens and refrigerators that can help with the preparation of over 250 Indian foods which can be operated by solar energy where required. The microwave ovens have been equipped with the ‘Masala & Sun Dry’ feature to help users easily and conveniently prepare the spices and dried fruits that are often used in Indian home cuisine.

In tropical regions like Southeast Asia, a common problem faced by users is having lizards and other small insects and pests crawl into air conditioning units to rest on the circuit board. These small animals can cause outsized damage by short-circuiting the unit. Samsung’s air conditioners have been designed to address this problem, with outdoor units adopting a ribbed, lizard-proof structure with gaps smaller than 1 millimeter to prevent any unwanted visitors infiltrating the unit.

Tropical regions are not the only areas that Samsung has developed specialized appliances for. In areas like the Middle East, where temperatures can soar during the summer months, Samsung air conditioners are equipped with durable compressors that can maintain performance even at 68°C (154°F)3. Users can stay comfortably cool with Samsung’s Wind-Free technology without having to worry about their air conditioner giving out in extreme heat.

As we find ourselves spending more and more time indoors, attention has turned worldwide to solutions that can help us keep our homes clean as easily as possible. From removing particulate matter from any room to keeping your clothes and bedcovers free of unwanted mites, Samsung’s home appliances1 are capable of keeping every corner of your house free of dust and allergens. So how can you make the most out of these innovative devices? Read on to see how you can easily incorporate them into your daily routine.

Refresh Your Garments With AirDresser

Washing your hands after coming home is a key part of best-practice hygiene, but you may still be concerned about the dust, bacteria, viruses and allergens that can linger on clothes after going outdoors. Sanitizing your clothes as soon as you get home is a surefire way to ensure peace of mind.

Samsung’s AirDresser is an easy way to freshen up garments that are difficult to wash on a regular basis, including coats, padded jackets, and suits. The AirDresser’s Jet Air and Air Hangers blast powerful gusts of air through your garments to thoroughly clean them inside and out. For an extra-thorough clean, you can also use the AirDresser’s Sanitize cycle with JetSteam. The technology has been certified by Intertek to remove 99.9% of bacteria from garments,2 and JetSteam has also been given the Seal of Approval by the British Allergy Foundation (BAF) for being able to effectively reduce house dust mites, fungi, and bacteria-related allergens.3 Reduce any lingering germs with the AirDresser’s internal temperature of up to 70°C (around 160°F).

Remove Ingrained Dirt With Samsung Washers

For those deep-seated germs or mites in your clothing, Samsung’s washing machines have a range of options to keep any fabric fresh.

First, Samsung washers use steam to fight off any bacteria clinging to clothes. The Hygiene Steam cycle of Samsung washing machines has been awarded the BAF’s seal of approval for its effective reduction of house dust mites, cat and dog dander, grass pollen and fungi allergens.4 Intertek has certified this cycle to remove 99.9% of bacteria,5 and it has also been certified by SMEC and CHEARI in China to remove more than 99.99% of bacteria.6

For a washing machine to be at peak performance, keeping the tub fresh at all times is essential. The Eco Drum Clean+ cycle in Samsung washers has been certified by Intertek to remove more than 99.9% of biofilm (bacterial buildup) on Samsung washers’ tub-insert carriers. For models with a Self Clean+ function, ultra-intense jets of high-temperature water will remove 99% of bacteria7 that can accumulate inside the drum. This built-in feature of the washing machine also removes the need for users to buy cleaning agents for utmost practicality and convenience.

Keep Dishes Safely Sterilized With a Samsung Dishwasher

* 99.99% elimination certification limited to DW80M9***U* and DW80R9***U* models, sold in the U.S.

Dishes, cups and other utensils come into direct contact with your mouth, meaning that it is imperative to keep them clean and hygienic after every use. With a Samsung dishwasher, you can harness the sterilization power of water at a temperature of 70°C (around 160°F), the optimal temperature to kill any lingering bacteria or viruses, when washing your dishes – and all without any plastic deformation. Intense vertical jets blast fresh tap water for a more sanitary clean. The Sanitize option in certain models8 has been certified according to NSF Standard 184 by Intertek to eliminate 99.99% of lingering food bacteria to put your mind at ease.

Breathe Easier With Clean, Filtered Air

To take care of air quality inside the home, Samsung’s Cube Air Purifier is the perfect solution. Its True HEPA filter can collect 99.97% of 0.3㎛(micrometer)-sized9 nano-particulate matters, some of the trickiest particles to catch, before they have a chance to circulate in your home. Furthermore, the Cube Air Purifier can effectively remove pollen and other ultrafine particles that cause respiratory diseases or allergies and also helps remove numerous kinds of odors and harmful gases. The Cube has been independently certified as being asthma & allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and AHAM Verifide so you can be sure to breathe freely.

Samsung’s Wind-Free air conditioners also do their part in keeping the air hygienic in addition to keeping the temperature cool without unpleasant drafts or noise. The Wind-Free air conditioner is able to filter up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria that pass through its Tri-Care Filter, as verified by Intertek.10

Catch Every Last Particle With the Samsung Jet

The Samsung Jet, Samsung’s premium cordless vacuum cleaner, features intense suction power of up to 200W11 for deep cleaning. As well as removing dust, the Samsung Jet also catches miniscule particles such as pollen, mold and pet dander to help you keep your floors, surfaces and air free of unwanted particulates.

Another unique benefit of using the Samsung Jet is that the entire vacuuming process, from start to finish, can be undertaken without mess. The Samsung Jet features an ultrafine dust filter12 that catches 99.999% of micro dust, meaning that dust will not escape back out into the air once trapped. The vacuum is also equipped with a Clean Station that keeps dust from being released back into the air during the device cleaning process.

All you need to do is place the vacuum’s dustbin on top of the Clean Station, where Air Pulse technology uses internal air pressure to empty the dustbin. Thanks to this innovative technology, the number of particles that conventionally escape back into the air during the emptying process is reduced by over 400 times.13

1 Products and specifications may vary by region.

Co-sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the AHR Expo has been renowned as the industry’s best and biggest event for OEMs, engineers, contractors and other trade professionals since 1930.

Those stopping by the Samsung booth at the AHR Expo will be able to view the company’s complete Wind-Free air conditioner lineup, including the new wall-mounted RAC unit, 1Way Cassette, 4Way Cassette, Mini 4Way Cassette and 360 Cassette. These new models meet the standard as far as energy efficiency and air cleaning capabilities and utilize AI and Samsung’s SmartThings Cloud to adapt to usage patterns and climate conditions in order to maintain a cool, comfortable environment without the discomfort of cold, direct airflows. Including the market’s first wall-mounted air conditioner with Wind-Free technology, these offerings are representative of Samsung’s long history of innovation in the air-conditioning sector.

At the expo, Samsung will also display its DVM S Eco HR system and 4ton FJM (Free Joint Multi) outdoor system. The DVM S Eco HR system is a large capacity VRF system air conditioner that is capable of simultaneously cooling and heating in separate rooms, is suitable for both residential properties and hotel sites and has multiple connection points that enable flexibility when it comes to installation. The 4ton FJM outdoor system features a home piping system that allows for the connection of up to five indoor units with a single outdoor unit, thus reducing installation time and cost. The 4ton FJM is also compatible with the newly launched RAC indoor unit, which streamlines operations and completes the FJM lineup for the North American market with the introduction of the Console.

Also, Samsung’s newest air conditioner solutions will be featured alongside its range of Home IoT and compressor solutions.
