Smarter multitasking with Samsung DeX: New Extended Mode transforms your Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and an external monitor into a true dual-screen setup, while users can create up to four customizable workspaces for different needs.

Slim and powerful: With a 3nm processor and Samsung’s thinnest tablet design yet, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra delivers fast, smooth performance in a portable form.

Samsung Electronics today announced the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S11, delivering its most intelligent and advanced tablet experience yet. Powered by the latest Galaxy AI,1 now enhanced by One UI 82 and new multimodal capabilities, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the thinnest Galaxy Tab to date, without compromising performance, going beyond a slim form factor to show what a premium tablet can be. Together, the series is built for effortless productivity on the go, combining pro-grade hardware with experiences optimized for a large screen.

With upgraded Samsung DeX and a redesigned S Pen, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra supports focused multitasking and seamless workflows, while also enabling creative expression in a sleek, portable form. Whether capturing ideas in a meeting, summarizing lecture notes or sketching out visual concepts, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra empowers users to handle more with less friction, wherever they are.

“The Galaxy Tab S11 series combines AI innovation with refined hardware to deliver a true multitasking experience that reflects Samsung’s deep experience in mobile productivity,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “With the latest Galaxy AI and new multimodal capabilities, these flagship tablets enable ultimate efficiency – empowering users to work, create and flow more naturally across a versatile, large screen.”

Powering Everyday Tasks With Advanced AI

With One UI 8, the Galaxy Tab S11 series brings multimodal AI to the forefront – understanding what users type, say and see, and responding in real time with helpful suggestions, these tools unlock a more fluid way to work, create and stay in flow across any task.

Gemini Live3 enables real-time screen sharing and visual input, so users can have a natural conversation with Gemini about what they’re looking at. Whether it’s on-screen content or an object that someone wants to show by pointing the camera at it – Gemini Live can handle contextual questions and requests by seeing what the user sees. For instance, a user in a class can easily screen share their notes, then ask Gemini to interpret a chart or explain the study material and summarize its insights.

By pressing and holding the side button, users can activate Gemini and carry out commands across apps with a single command. For instance, when there’s no time to read a lengthy article, users can share the link with Gemini and say, “Summarize this article and save it to Samsung Notes,” making it easier to catch up later. It simplifies complex actions so users can stay in their flow.

The Galaxy Tab S11 series is packed with additional tools for effortless productivity and creativity – including the full suite of Galaxy AI features, optimized for the large screen.

Users can turn rough sketches into clean visuals with Drawing Assist4, then drag and drop5> images they’ve created into Samsung Notes as a starting point for further ideation – perfect for brainstorming, visual planning or creative exploration.

Writing Assist6 helps rework tone and style, so users can easily refine a piece of writing to ensure it matches their intended meaning before dropping it into an email, document or other apps.

While multitasking, users can keep Galaxy AI close at hand as a moveable and compact overlay, presented in a floating view,7 allowing them to summarize the content on their screen without breaking focus.

Circle to Search8 with Google is now even more helpful for getting context and diving deeper into anything users see on their device’s screen. Users are able to translate text in real-time as they scroll and interact. From news articles to social media posts, users will see instant, on-screen translations of the underlying text in their preferred language.

The Galaxy Tab S11 series comes with the newly redesigned S Pen that’s built for both focused work and creative expression. Its new cone-shaped pen tip supports increased tilt angles for better control, while a hexagonal design provides a more natural, ergonomic feel that’s comfortable and stable in the hand. Quick Tools9 make it easy to adjust on the fly while drawing or editing with floating access, while Sticky Note lets users capture sudden thoughts or to-dos directly over Samsung Notes – no more app switching required during document review.

Full-Scale Productivity

In addition to Galaxy AI, the enhanced Samsung DeX10 on the Galaxy Tab S11 series empowers users to maximize their productivity when multitasking across apps, taking notes during meetings or simply mapping out ideas. Whether you’re a designer building out visual concepts or a frequent traveler planning a trip across apps and displays, the Galaxy Tab S11 series features support every step, from researching and sketching to sharing polished results.

The latest Samsung DeX upgrades unlock next-level productivity, starting with Extended Mode, which transforms Galaxy Tab S11 and an external monitor into a seamless dual-screen setup. It runs Samsung DeX across both screens simultaneously for more intuitive multitasking and greater flexibility – now users can drag and drop apps between displays or reference a document on one screen while presenting on the other. Also new to Samsung DeX, users can now create up to four separate, customized workspaces for different needs. For example, one workspace can be dedicated for work, another to creative projects and a third to planning a trip.

With the upgraded Samsung DeX, users can set up a full working environment from virtually anywhere – whether it’s connecting to a meeting room TV for a presentation or adding final touches to a work document at the airport lounge just before starting a vacation.

Combined with Book Cover Keyboard Slim, the Galaxy Tab S11 series easily transforms into a personalized, mobile workstation with instant access to AI assistants through the dedicated Galaxy AI Key.

Made To Perform, Built To Move

The Galaxy Tab S11 series delivers its most advanced performance yet, equipped with cutting-edge hardware and immersive visuals in a slim, highly portable design. Samsung brings its enhanced 3nm processor to Galaxy Tab for the first time in the S11 series, offering faster processing, smoother multitasking and more responsive AI features. Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra boasts performance improvements of 33% in NPU, 24% in CPU and 27% in GPU.11 Additionally, a powerful battery12 and efficient thermal management ensure reliable, long-lasting use for work, creativity and everything in between.

Performance matched by purposeful design reflects Samsung’s hardware innovation – delivering ultra-thin and light, yet powerful devices ready for everyday versatility. Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra features a remarkably slim build at just 5.1 mm,13 with narrow 5.2 mm bezels14 that expand screen space without compromising portability. Across both models, Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays deliver up to 1600 nits of peak brightness,15 ensuring clear, vivid visuals indoors or out, so users can stay focused wherever they work.

Tools That Fit the Way Users Work

The Galaxy Tab S11 series makes it easy to get started with work or creative projects with extensive third-party apps.16 There is easy access to Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion and Notion – supporting everything from sketching and note-taking to flexible project planning. Galaxy users also enjoy exclusive benefits, with special offers that make it easier to explore these premium tools, work smarter and unlock their creative potential. Goodnotes17 offers a 1-year free version, Clip Studio Paint18 comes with a 6-month free trial with 20% off your first subscription and users can get 66% off LumaFusion19 along with a one-month free Creator Pass. Notion20 also comes with a one-month free trial of its Plus plan with Notion AI, providing added flexibility for writing, planning and organization.

In addition to these apps, users can explore a broader range of options that support different needs. Noteshelf 321 offers customizable layouts for capturing and organizing ideas. ArcSite22 empowers users with precision tools to turn creative sketches into CAD layouts. Sketchbook provides an intuitive space for illustration and concept art, and Picsart23 enables creators to bring their imagination to life through its own AI-driven design tools. Whether users are working on creative portfolios or need to boost productivity, these tools are designed to simplify everyday tasks and streamline workflows.

Launching as the first Galaxy tablet to feature One UI 8, the Galaxy Tab S11 series delivers a more seamless, intelligent AI experience. One UI 8 will expand to other previous generations of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Tab S10 series, starting in October.24

Samsung Newsroom has put together this guide to showcase how campus life can become even smarter with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.

Takes Notes To Ace Any Class

If you’re having difficulty keeping up with notes during a class or lecture, try using the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s split-screen feature to quickly organize1 all the information thrown your way. You can split your screen into three windows during online classes. For instance, you can open your reading assignment on the left and your notetaking app on the right to conveniently access all the apps you need on a single screen. Thanks to the tablet’s 14.6-inch ultra-large display, your notetaking experience will never feel cramped. Even in split-screen mode, apps are still easy to use, spacious and adjustable to fit your needs.

During important lectures where you can’t miss a single detail, you can also sync the live voice recording to your notes.2 Simply press the “record” icon in the notes app when class starts and begin writing. You can easily replay the voice recording and follow along with your notes, conveniently synced to the audio, to help you take in even the most complex information.

Look and Sound Your Best on Every Video Call

The Galaxy Tab S8 series is packed with improved features for video calls, so whether you’re joining an online class or catching up with your classmates, you’ll come across loud and clear. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the first of the Galaxy Tab series to be equipped with a 12-megapixel main camera in the front and an ultra-wide lens for an even wider screen. The Galaxy Tab S8 also comes with the AI-based Auto-Framing feature, which automatically adjusts the camera frame according to onscreen camera movement, such as zooming out or adjusting the angle when someone walks into frame. With the device’s three precision microphones, you can also minimize distractions, reducing background noise for even sharper, clearer audio.

Transform Your Tablet Into a PC

There are times when you just need a laptop, like when you’re completing assignments or preparing to give a group presentation. When this is the case, Samsung DeX3 gives you that PC-like experience, so you can open up multiple app windows at once, just like you would on a PC. Using the DeX Mirroring feature, you can bring your work to the big screen by mirroring the tablet’s DeX window on a TV screen or a monitor. If you have the Book Cover Keyboard for the Galaxy Tab S8 series and a Bluetooth mouse, you can instantly transform your tablet into a working laptop.

Alternatively, you can use the Second Screen4 feature to wirelessly connect your Galaxy Tab S8 as a secondary monitor if you already have a laptop. Simply connect the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to your PC screen and either expand or duplicate the display to push your productivity to the max. With the Galaxy Tab S8, you can work smarter, not harder.

With the newly upgraded S Pen, you can write as smoothly and effortlessly on your tablet as you do on paper. The S Pen has a 30% faster response speed5 through a prediction algorithm for a truer pen-to-paper or brush-to-canvas experience. If you’re annoyed by clacking laptop keys or just prefer to write by hand, the S Pen will become your writing utensil of choice.

Find a Hobby You’ll Love

If you want to add a splash of color to your life, why not try drawing using the S Pen? The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has partnered with Clip Studio Paint for an optimized experience that connects your tablet to your Galaxy smartphone. By activating the Companion Mode in the app and connecting it to your Galaxy smartphone, you can turn your mobile phone into a paint palette and your tablet into a canvas. You can create digital masterpieces and unleash your creativity like never before.

Due to the pandemic, staying at home has become the new normal, driving up the popularity of streaming services. When it comes to binging your favorite shows, the Galaxy Tab S8 provides you with an optimal viewing experience. Whether you’re watching on campus or at home, you can experience next-level streaming with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s expansive screen and a rich soundscape with Dolby Atmos anytime, anywhere.

In recent times, the way we live our lives and manage our daily routines has changed exponentially. The boundaries between the ways we work and how we play have become blurred, and the already-important role that technology has in our lives has only become more paramount.

The powerful Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra, along with their versatile ecosystem, have been designed to help us achieve more in this age of the next normal, and deliver new connected experiences across health, productivity and more. Check out these five Galaxy Note20 features that can keep help optimize your productivity and keep you working efficiently, even when remote.

Work Smarter With the Redefined Samsung Notes

The Galaxy Note20 comes with a redefined Samsung Notes experience that makes note taking, editing and management easier than ever before, giving you more options when looking to optimize your remote working or studying.

Say you are following along with a class online; you can now directly import your PDF lecture materials into Samsung Notes and annotate them freely with your S Pen for a more cohesive learning experience. For those taking notes during a longer class, lecture or presentation, the new Audio Bookmark feature lets users attach and time sync voice recordings to their text. When reviewing back your Notes, just tap on the word you wrote and it will play back the audio time synced to it.

Samsung Notes also provides more options for users getting a head start on the next big work presentation or product design – you can instantly export any handwritten notes into PowerPoint slides, PDF files and Word documents for seamless sharing with the rest of the team.

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are packed with powerful tools designed to help users unleash their creativity and be more productive. Now, with an update set

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are packed with powerful tools designed to help users unleash their creativity and be more productive. Now, with an update set for release beginning in European markets from September 23,1 Samsung Electronics is introducing many of those same bar-raising innovations – including features like AR Doodle, a built-in video editor and Link to Windows integration – to the Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+ and S10 5G.2

Once Galaxy S10 users download the update, they’ll notice that their smartphone’s pro-grade camera has become even more powerful. The update expands the camera’s Night Mode to include support for the front-facing camera as well – offering users more freedom to snap vivid shots after dark. It also introduces enhanced Super steady video stabilization, as well as support for dynamic Galaxy Note10 functions like AR Doodle and Live focus video recording. The former lets users enhance their videos with fun, augmented-reality drawings and messages, while the latter lets them apply bokeh effects (including blur, big circle, color point and glitch) to videos recorded with the front or rear camera.

Whenever Galaxy S10 users capture a memorable clip, the camera’s new, Gallery app-accessible video editor offers all the tools they’ll need to turn it into a share-worthy video. This versatile feature makes it easy to edit videos like a pro, and features simple tools for trimming clips, stitching them together, adjusting playback speed and more. You can even use the function to add subtitles and background music to clips to make your content more unique.

The update also incorporates support for Samsung DeX for PC. Once users download the app from SamsungDeX.com, they’ll be able to launch Samsung DeX on their PC or Mac simply by connecting their Galaxy S10 to their computer via USB cable. Link to Windows support has also been added, which means that Galaxy S10 users will be able to wirelessly connect their phone to their Windows 10 PC and easily view its contents, send and receive messages, and sync recent photos directly from their computer.

Apps that Galaxy S10 users rely on every day, including Samsung Pass and Messages, have also been made more versatile and convenient. Now, Samsung Pass’s setup has been simplified, making it easier for Galaxy S10 users to utilize their device’s advanced biometric technologies to log in to apps and websites quickly and securely. In the Messages app, new icons for adding photos and videos have been positioned to the left of the text window to offer users easy access to the files they need.

As Jiyoung Mun, an engineer at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile R&D Office, explained, the Galaxy S10’s update reflects Samsung’s commitment to offering more users access to exceptional innovations. “At Samsung Electronics, we’re constantly exploring ways to offer Galaxy device users the best possible smartphone experience, and this software update is an extension of that commitment,” said Mun.

1 Update release date may vary by country and carrier

2 Each global market will receive the same features through the update with the exception of the U.S., where features may vary by carrier

Samsung and HARMAN have revealed the next iteration of their innovative Digital Cockpit platform at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019. The Digital Cockpit 2019 presents an enriched automotive experience that heightens personalization, connectivity and safety throughout a suite of IoT solutions.

Building on the standard set by last year’s Digital Cockpit, the 2019 version addresses the needs of drivers and passengers alike, providing a seamless link between devices, vehicle and home, with simple controls for ease of use.

An Experience Tailored for Every Passenger

For 2019, the Digital Cockpit has increased the number of displays from three to six, delivering tailored infotainment options to more of the car’s passenger. In addition to a new, independent Passenger Display, two Rear Seat Displays also have been added, allowing passengers in both the front and rear to enjoy personalized contents that will keep them entertained during their travels. The Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring System (OMS) are able to recognize registered drivers and passengers, adjusting the environment – such as screen settings and seat position – to provide an experience personalized to their tastes.

Three screens in the front of the Digital Cockpit show the driver important information and settings. The Cluster Display, situated in front of the driver, is a screen that highlights crucial driving information, such as the speed and oil gauge, with a layout that changes according to the driver’s preference. Between the driver and the front passenger is the Center Information Display, which shows Bixby and SmartThings services for cars, as well as basic apps, like navigation and music. Below that is the Control Display, a screen that oversees a host of functions, including air conditioning and sound volume, and can also be used to set the functions on the knobs of the Digital Cockpit.

By connecting their smartphone to the appropriate display via In-vehicle Samsung DeX, passengers can enjoy a smartphone experience optimized for their display and give their full attention to documents and emails, even while on the move.

Equipped with two knobs positioned in the front of the car and two in the back, the Digital Cockpit offers intuitive setting controls. The knobs have a circular UX, similar to the Galaxy Watch’s hallmark display, and can be customized to configure settings most frequently used by the driver and passengers, such as temperature and speaker volume.

Connectivity throughout the Car

With new Bixby, the in-car experience is even more convenient. The intuitive, conversational AI platform allows drivers and passengers to control their third-party apps – as well as automotive-optimized functions – hands-free inside the car.

As our world becomes increasingly more connected, the Digital Cockpit is strengthening the bond between car and home. Last year’s features supported car-to-home interactions, allowing you to check what’s inside your fridge or start up the washing machine at home, all from the driver’s seat. In addition to adding more devices that can be controlled from the car, the Digital Cockpit now also facilitates home-to-car interactions. With the help of SmartThings and Galaxy Home, users can access vehicle status and controls from the comfort of their own home. This means that you can check fuel levels, start up the engine, and cool down or warm up the inside temperature by turning on the AC before jumping into your car.

Smarter Safety

New features have been implemented to further enhance car safety. Incorporating Samsung Electronics’ Exynos semiconductor, the Mirror Replacement Vision System, Front Facing Camera and Driver Monitoring System assist safe driving in a variety of potential scenarios.

Since last year, the Mirror Replacement Vision System has moved to the front left and right sides of the vehicle to reflect where users habitually look when changing lanes. The system can identify moving objects and gives the driver a wider field of view in the direction of the lane they wish to change into.

The Front Facing Camera detects the environment on the roads ahead. This is particularly useful if the driver wants to make a sudden left turn on an intersection or change lanes, for example. The camera identifies vehicles, pedestrians, lanes and traffic signs while driving and warns the driver of any hazards before they act. Data is shown on the Cluster Display, helping the driver make informed decisions on the road.

The Driver Monitoring System will also transmit a warning sound if it detects dangerous behavior, such as driving while drowsy or sending text messages behind the wheel.

As car design embraces new trends in mobility lifestyle, the Digital Cockpit 2019 represents the next stage in vehicle comfort, connectivity and safety. As the development of 5G technologies continues apace, Samsung’s IoT platform will drive the future of automotive innovation and broaden the horizons of connected living.

DeX enables users to use their phone or tablet as a touch padboard or touch keypad. DeX also offers “dual mode,” so they can continue to use the phone or tablet while working on the external monitor—whether it’s participating in a video chat or drawing and taking notes. Note9 users can also use their S Pen to advance slides while in DeX mode on a larger screen.

#4 Fun and Interactive Activities

Each SDC features a full slate of engaging sessions that demonstrate innovative ways for developers to build apps and services utilizing Samsung’s latest technologies. This year’s sessions slate placed Bixby, SmartThings and Samsung’s new foldable UX center stage. Samsung and industry experts answered participants’ every question through fun and informative lectures, panels and discussions.

But the interactive fun didn’t stop there, as SDC18 also included exciting competitions, giveaways and challenges that made the entire experience that much more memorable.

The Bixby Developer Showcase was one such example. In the lead up to SDC18, Samsung challenged developers to come up with first-class Bixby experiences, for the most dynamic submissions. On the second day of SDC18, the competition’s finalists presented their Bixby Capsules, which demonstrate the AI technology’s incredible potential. Competitions like this demonstrate exciting ways that Samsung and developers are making Bixby better.

Each SDC also features a wide array of workshops and activities that allow attendees to get up close and personal with Samsung’s latest innovations.

This year, the interactive workshops were held within the confines of the Code Lab, located at the center of the conference hall. Covering the ins and outs of developing for Bixby, SmartThings, Samsung DeX and more, these in-depth workshops offered attendees the opportunity to hone their coding skills with the aid of Samsung’s experienced instructors. Notable examples included workshops demonstrating how to create a Bixby Capsule for a service, as well as how to build SmartThings apps with TizenRT.

#5 A Peek at Life-changing Projects

Some of the most inspiring exhibits included at this year’s event spotlighted Samsung initiatives that are affecting change in communities that many attendees call home.

The exhibits demonstrated interesting ways that Samsung technologies are being used to create life-changing solutions. One of the most attention-grabbing examples was the booth for Rehago, an innovative training system (created through Samsung Germany’s “Life’s a Pitch” startup competition) that helps hemiplegic stroke patients during recovery.

Other standouts included the exhibits for Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow program, which encourages students to use STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to develop solutions to issues affecting their communities; Project Pontis, which enables Samsung Smart TV users with physical limitations to control their TV via brain waves; and uSound, an app that helps detect the risk of hearing loss and improves quality of life through communication and education for those affected by it.
