Samsung Electronics announced it will bring new, innovative features found on its flagship Galaxy S20 series to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 series through

Samsung Electronics announced it will bring new, innovative features found on its flagship Galaxy S20 series to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 series through an upcoming software update1 starting from March. Users will be able to capture content with the latest Galaxy camera software technology, including Single Take mode. Additionally, users will have access to a variety of software enhancements that make the entire Galaxy experience even more enjoyable.

Let’s dive into how select Galaxy S20 features will work on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10.

Advanced Photo and Video Experiences

This software update brings select Galaxy S20 photo and video experiences to the Galaxy S10 and Note10 series. With Single Take, stay in the moment while you capture the moment using integrated AI technology. Single Take uses the camera system and AI to capture a number of photos and videos at once and recommends the best shot for you2.

With an improved Night Mode on the Galaxy S10 series, and the addition of Night Hyperlapse on both Galaxy S10 and Note10 series3, you’ll be able to capture even more amazing photos and videos even in low light.

When you’ve captured that perfect image, Custom Filter lets you create your own filter with colors and styles you like from a favorite photo serving as inspiration. This creates a reusable filter that can be applied to future photos when captured.

For the aspiring filmmaker, Pro Video gives you even more control, allowing you to adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed and exposure level. You can also switch between the front and rear cameras while recording video.

Intelligent Gallery

This update also brings a variety of gallery features to help you organize your content. Thanks to AI technology, with Clean View enabled, the Gallery app automatically groups together similar shots of the same subject for a more organized gallery4. Users can easily review similar shots and select their favorite to serve as the photo group’s thumbnail. When viewing a photo in the gallery, you can zoom in on an image and press Quick Crop, located at the top left-hand corner, to crop photos to your desired size.

Augmented Reality (AR) technology has been integrated into our smartphones with fun functions such as filters and the ability to finally become a Pokemon

Augmented Reality (AR) technology has been integrated into our smartphones with fun functions such as filters and the ability to finally become a Pokemon trainer. Entertainment aside, AR has also enabled convenience for users as we are able to virtually try on hundreds of shades of lipsticks, or virtually place furniture in your home. Consumers can give products a ‘test run’ and make sure it is to their liking before buying it.

Now you can also use AR technology to amp up your social media game with the Galaxy Note10|10+! Samsung’s new and exciting feature, AR Doodle combines AR technology and the features of the S Pen, so you can unleash your creativity and put your artistic vision in a new dimension. Not to forget, the improved S Pen is equipped with a diverse collection of brush and pen types ranging from neon to water droplet effects with lots of colors and textures to choose from.

To create an AR Doodle is as easy as 1,2,3!

Step 1 – Launch the Camera app and tap Video on the shooting modes list.

Step 2 – Tap the AR Doodle icon and select the mode you want. When the camera recognizes the subject, the recognition area will appear on the screen.

Step 3 – Write or draw in the recognition area. If you tap Record icon and then begin to doodle, you can record yourself doodling. Tap Stop icon to stop recording the video.

With that in mind, below are three (3) ways to up your social media game with AR!

1. Can’t find the perfect GIF or sticker? Make your own!

AR Doodle filmed by Galaxy Note10+, credit to JinnyBoy @jinnyboy and Michelle Ng @michellekoibito

You can now design or make your own sticker and GIF to express how you feel. Instead of physically being at your bucket list destinations, you can doodle your unique “Where would I rather be?” GIFs to share with your followers. If you’re more artistic in nature, you can even be creative and come up with themes based on the different weather or destinations – using the water droplet effects for a wet and rainy day, snow specks during the Christmas season or the bright neon brush when you’re on cloud nine.

2. Add an element of surprise to your selfies

AR Doodle filmed by Galaxy Note10+, credit to Marianne Tan @mariannetpy

Rather than applying the stock effects of filters, why not stand out from the crowd and have an AR-makeover by being your favorite cartoon character? With the upcoming Christmas season, you can also share your AR Doodle and heartfelt wishes with your friends and loved ones away from home by sending them an e-greeting card. You can also surprise your significant other with a love note, just because you can!

3. Create your own 3D trick art

AR Doodle filmed by Galaxy Note10+, credit to Marianne Tan @mariannetpy

Once you’ve gotten the hang of creating AR Doodles, you can level up and be a 3D trick artist. By adding lines and drawing objects that change in perspective and appearance based on how you interact with the phone when viewing them. By playing with camera angles and perspectives, you can create the illusion of 3D art even by drawin basic lines – an exciting way to play mind-tricks on your followers.

Visit a Samsung Experience Store today to experience AR Doodle on the Galaxy Note10|10+. For more information on the Galaxy Note10|10+, visit https://www.samsung.com/my/smartphones/galaxy-note10/.

Now, in addition to enjoying the diverse range of Note10 features that were added in the S10’s most recent update, users will be able to access all-new smart multimedia and Wi-Fi functions2 that streamline connections and take content creation to the next level.

Let’s take a closer look at how some of the Note10’s innovative and convenient features work on the Galaxy S10.

Enjoy Enriching Multimedia Experiences and Seamless Connectivity

The latest Galaxy S10 software update brings a more streamlined and seamless user experience to the device. The Gallery allows you to find your favorite photos quickly by refining searches with keywords.

Gallery Improvement

Discovering new songs, movies or TV shows is also easier with the improved device search, which brings up content recommendations from multimedia streaming apps. With the addition of Media & Devices to Quick Panel, you can easily control your multimedia experience across devices with just the Galaxy S10.

Media and Devices

Auto Hotspot offers an easy solution for transforming your Galaxy S10 into a Wi-Fi hub. After an initial setup, the feature will let the Galaxy S10 establish a hotspot automatically with other Samsung devices if they share the same Samsung account or family account. By offering troubleshooting guides and alerts, Wi-Fi Tips ensures your mobile connection will be stable and secure.

Capture Your Vision

Launched in September, the previous software update brought Note10’s powerful creativity tools to the Galaxy S10. You can now add a personal touch to videos with fun, vibrant drawings – no S Pen required – with the device’s infinitely expressive AR Doodle function. With the camera’s enhanced Super steady video stabilization, you’ll never have to worry about shaky clips, even when the action heats up. Plus, capture crystal clear selfies after dark with Night Mode on the front camera.

A Pocket-sized Multimedia Suite

Users are already able to edit their favorite clips right on their smartphone thanks to the Galaxy S10’s Video Editor feature, but with the updated Samsung DeX, transforming your clips into dynamic videos is easier than ever before. Simply connect the device to a PC or Mac with a USB cable and you’ll be able to trim, edit, and personalize your clips with precision on Samsung DeX.

For some of us, travelling is an essential part of life – to experience new places and different cultures. It takes us out of our comfort zone and gives us eye-opening experiences and a sense of freedom. But when you travel in groups, you sometimes don’t get the chance to do everything you want to do. Sometimes, you just need to go at it alone, just you and the open road.

With such a big wide world to explore, it’s always a good idea to have a companion that stays at your side, helps you capture all the photos and videos you want, show you the way and lasts as long as you do.

Here is where the Galaxy Note10|10+ comes in. It is the power phone that is built for the generation of people who rarely stay in one place for long, who work and play where ever they are, and who aren’t afraid to go in alone.

So why is the Galaxy Note10|10+ a travellers’ great companion? Here are 3 reasons:

Capture Every Memory in Photography and Pro-grade Video

Photo taken by Galaxy Note10+, credit to @tianchad

Photo taken by Galaxy Note10+, credit to @tianchad

Photos and videos let travelers bring a little bit of their journey back with them. But no one wants a bad photo or video. The Galaxy Note10+ combines four cameras – one in the front which is 10 MP and three in the back which consists of 16 MP Ultra Wide-angle, 12 MP Wide- angle and 12 MP telephoto that gives users an ultra-wide-angle to help capture and full impact of the beautiful scenery while on your travels. The front camera also features a Night Mode for low-light situations. A clever Live Focus feature on the camera app allows you to take striking selfies and create custom bokeh effects so that your pictures can always add a stylish effect to your pictures.

Photo taken by Galaxy Note10+, credit to @jinnyboy

Photo taken by Galaxy Note10+, credit to @jinnyboy

Additionally, for the vloggers among us, capturing video on the Galaxy Note10|10+ is a dream with the assortment of built-in effects and Live Focus which allows you to add various background effects, including bokeh, which enables depth-of-field adjustments on your video to offer more artistic precision and control over the story. The Galaxy Note10|10+ even comes with microphone zoom capabilities so you can zero in only on the sounds you want to hear in the middle of a crowd.

Editing video while on the road is so much easier because you apply your creativity to your videos right on your Galaxy Note10|10+ – no laptop needed. Handy when you want to share your experiences with your friends but don’t want the hassle of carrying a laptop with you. The built-in video editor makes stitching clips, clip speed control, transition effects, and layering text and drawings easy while on the go. The one-of-a-kind S Pen adds precision, and double as a controller for selfies when you just can’t find someone to help you take the perfect photo.

Today, our smartphones are essentially an extension of us – we use them for everything. With everyone blending work and play together, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to do both no matter where we are. For those who want to know “Can I do that on my phone?” with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10|10+ devices, the answer is always yes!

Samsung Malaysia hosted a ‘Don’t Leave Home Without It!’ hands-on workshop held at REX KL, in conjunction with the Samsung’s #iChanged campaign. Participants got to learn from commercial and fashion photographer, Michael Yeoh and professional illustrator, Marianne Tan about how they can get the most out of their Samsung Galaxy Note10|10+.

“We recently launched the Samsung Galaxy Note10|10+ in Malaysia, the essential device that does just about everything. These devices complement a generation that is always on-the-go, allowing them to create, edit and share content instantly right from their phones. The workshops were carried out to give the participants a chance to learn features that they would use in their daily life.” said Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

The workshop was broken into three sessions to learn about pro-grade photography and videography, AR Doodle and Google apps.

Never miss a precious moment!

Samsung Malaysia understand how important it is to capture all the best moments to be shared on social media whether it be for an Instagram post of YouTube vlog. Commercial and fashion photographer, Michael Yeoh explained and showed the participants how to use the different camera features so they could elevate their skills.

Break-dancers were at the workshop showing off their head-turning dance moves while participants learnt how to photograph and video them with the super steady shot and live-focus video.

In the center of Paris earlier this year, a unique sight caught the eye of visitors as they passed through the city’s famous Place de la Concorde – a Samsung Electronics billboard written entirely in the Korean company’s native alphabet, Hangeul.

October 9th is Hangeul Day in Korea, with this year marking the 573rd annual celebration of the Korean alphabet’s invention and importance. Invented by the 15th-century Korean monarch Sejong the Great, Hangeul is widely considered the most scientific alphabet existing today, and consists of blocks of syllables that are made up of 24 sounds and shapes – ‘letters’ – made by the mouth.

With its fixed range of letters and logical construction, doesn’t learning Hangeul sound like fun? Of course, learning a new language is no easy feat, but with the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+, you can easily start enjoying learning a new language.

1. Press-to-Learn

For moments when you’re curious about what a certain word is in the language you’re learning but don’t have a dictionary to hand, the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+’s S Pen is here to help. Among other great functionalities, the S Pen allows users to instantly translate words on their smartphone’s screen simply by hovering over them. This convenient feature not only applies to words written in Samsung Notes memos, but also text in things like image files, articles and press releases.

2. Make Notes Anytime, Anywhere

When you set out to learn a new language, practice makes perfect, and ensuring that you are constantly honing your writing ability is a surefire way to master a new script in no time.

Screen off memo is a handy feature of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ that lets you use the S Pen to draw or write on your smartphone’s display even when its screen is off. If you find yourself without pen and paper, or without the time to unlock your phone to access its full capabilities, Screen off memo is the best way to stay active with your practice. This means that wherever or whenever you encounter a new word or phrase you’d like to keep for later, you can simply make a note of it on your device.

On the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+, Screen off memo features various color options to provide users with a more personalized note-taking experience when learning a new language. Note down a new word, get in some quick script practice or copy down a phrase at a moment’s notice – your latest practice memo begins from the moment you take your S Pen out of the device.

3. Scribble & Save

Samsung Notes is your one-stop ideas app, which lets you review and edit previous notes as well as add new ones. If you’ve jotted down a new phrase using Screen off memo, you can pull it up on Samsung Notes to refresh your memory and continue along your language-learning journey.

While Samsung Notes provides a great hub for keeping track of your progress, repetition is key when retaining a new language, and so to help you work on and memorize your latest linguistic memos from a Word document, the notes you take down with the evolved S Pen can be instantly converted from handwriting to text.

To create this instant conversion feature, Samsung developed a handwriting database from hundreds of thousands of handwritten sentences from which a handwriting recognition model was developed using deep learning technology. This feature works for scripts that aren’t your mother tongue, as well, as Samsung Notes can support 62 different languages.

4. Have Fun!

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ come with even more ways for you to express your creativity, not least of which is AR Doodle, a fun way to get in some language practice at the same time as creating content to make your friends laugh.

With AR Doodle, you can use your S Pen to add text or drawings to any video that will then intelligently animate based on the content, so why not show off your newfound linguistic prowess when customizing a video of a friend using your S Pen and honed linguistic skills? Language learning has never been so entertaining.

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are packed with powerful tools designed to help users unleash their creativity and be more productive. Now, with an update set

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are packed with powerful tools designed to help users unleash their creativity and be more productive. Now, with an update set for release beginning in Malaysian markets from September 26, Samsung Electronics is introducing many of those same bar-raising innovations – including features like AR Doodle, a built-in video editor and Link to Windows integration – to the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+.

Once Galaxy S10 users download the update, they’ll notice that their smartphone’s pro-grade camera has become even more powerful. The update expands the camera’s Night Mode to include support for the front-facing camera as well – offering users more freedom to snap vivid shots after dark. It also introduces enhanced Super steady video stabilization, as well as support for dynamic Galaxy Note10 functions like AR Doodle and Live focus video recording. The former lets users enhance their videos with fun, augmented-reality drawings and messages, while the latter lets them apply bokeh effects (including blur, big circle, color point and glitch) to videos recorded with the front or rear camera.

Whenever Galaxy S10 users capture a memorable clip, the camera’s new, Gallery app-accessible video editor offers all the tools they’ll need to turn it into a share-worthy video. This versatile feature makes it easy to edit videos like a pro, and features simple tools for trimming clips, stitching them together, adjusting playback speed and more. You can even use the function to add subtitles and background music to clips to make your content more unique.

The update also incorporates support for Samsung DeX for PC. Once users download the app from SamsungDeX.com, they’ll be able to launch Samsung DeX on their PC or Mac simply by connecting their Galaxy S10 to their computer via USB cable. Link to Windows support has also been added, which means that Galaxy S10 users will be able to wirelessly connect their phone to their Windows 10 PC and easily view its contents, send and receive messages, and sync recent photos directly from their computer.

Apps that Galaxy S10 users rely on every day, including Samsung Pass and Messages, have also been made more versatile and convenient. Now, Samsung Pass’s setup has been simplified, making it easier for Galaxy S10 users to utilize their device’s advanced biometric technologies to log in to apps and websites quickly and securely. In the Messages app, new icons for adding photos and videos have been positioned to the left of the text window to offer users easy access to the files they need.

As Jiyoung Mun, an engineer at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile R&D Office, explained, the Galaxy S10’s update reflects Samsung’s commitment to offering more users access to exceptional innovations. “At Samsung Electronics, we’re constantly exploring ways to offer Galaxy device users the best possible smartphone experience, and this software update is an extension of that commitment,” said Mun.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that the Galaxy Note10 has been named by Wi-Fi Alliance as the first smartphone to be certified for a new standard in connected technology, Wi-Fi 6.

“As a pioneer in new mobile experiences Samsung is proud to be announced as one of the first companies to hold the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6TM accreditation,” said Inkang Song, Vice President and Head of Technology Strategy Group of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “The Galaxy Note10 is one of our flagship devices and the first smartphone classified Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6TM. Along with the Galaxy S10 we’re thrilled to bring Wi-Fi 6 to our loyal customers.”

Wi-Fi 6 enabling new mobile experiences

Wi-Fi is a critical piece of infrastructure required to enable the proper function of a growing number of both consumer and commercial devices. From televisions and appliances to security and communication systems, the expectations for everything, and everyone, to be connected is growing. Wi-Fi Alliance has led the development of industry agreed standards for devices for many years. With the launch of Wi-Fi 6 this year, a new certification has been launched to ensure that the highest possible standards are continuously met.

Wi-Fi 6 technology is building on the performance of previous Wi-Fi generations and is the latest technology to be launched from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Wi-Fi 6 will operate in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, offer greater capacity than previous generations and double the number of spatial streams. Devices certified by Wi-Fi Alliance, classed as “Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6TM”, will deliver new capabilities for people in a range of situations.

Wi-Fi 6 will allow family homes to better stream high-definition entertainment, simultaneously manage the connected home and efficiently support multiple devices.

Outside, Wi-Fi 6 will improve connectivity in high population areas and provide a more consistent service as people move around towns and cities.

In the enterprise, this new technology will enable greater automation and more advanced capabilities in healthcare monitoring and e-learning as well as continuing to handle large numbers of users and high volumes of data.

Samsung mobile devices with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6TM will bring more reliable performance even in challenging environments[1]. This is achieved through a number of the key features of Wi-Fi 6 technology. For example:

Uplink and downlink Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) increases efficiency and lowers latency for high demand environments. This enables the Samsung Note10 to have stable connectivity in environments with many connected devices.

Target-Wakeup Time (TWT) improves power efficiency in Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6 TM devices, including the Galaxy Note10. Because the TWT schedules transmission time between the Galaxy Note10 and the access point, it allows the Galaxy Note10 to manage its power efficiently until the predetermined wake-up time.

Multi-User Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO) allowsmore data to be transferred at one time, enabling access points to handle larger numbers of devices simultaneously when the Galaxy Note10 is connected to Wi-Fi 6.

As a result of close collaboration with Wi-Fi Alliance, Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy S10 have offered Wi-Fi 6 connectivity from the launch. It gives users faster and seamless Wi-Fi connection in crowded areas, and powers high-quality video calls as well as high-definition streaming without slowing down.

[1] https://www.wi-fi.org/discover-wi-fi/wi-fi-certified-6

The Samsung Weather experience on the Galaxy Note10 is getting an upgrade1 thanks to a partnership with The Weather Channel, a subsidiary of IBM. Now, for the first time, customers who purchase a Galaxy Note10 will have access to new features in Samsung Weather, including government-issued weather alerts2, radar maps3, and weather video clips4 from The Weather Channel’s editorial team.

Checking the weather is considered as a daily activity for people around the world, and one of the most common activities on mobile devices. Galaxy owners use Samsung Weather, powered by The Weather Channel, to help plan their day.

Samsung Weather also allows Galaxy Note10 users to connect directly to The Weather Channel’s website, weather.com, to view real-time radar maps, giving users access to high-resolution, past-to-future radar data and hyperlocal current weather. Additionally, users will receive government-issued weather alerts from the smartphone’s weather widget on the home screen.
