Spectacle marks the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 and the arrival of Galaxy AI[1] technology – designed to empower the mobile experience and transform the iconic S series for the future
London, United Kingdom – 17th January 2024 – London’s skyline was lit up by a huge hovering spaceship this evening, shocking onlookers in a captivating aerial display.
The spellbinding show featured over 550 drones and took an awestruck audience on a journey through the solar system with a series of colourful celestial scenes above Canary Wharf.
The mysterious spectacle was in fact orchestrated by Samsung to celebrate the landing of its new flagship Galaxy S24 devices, in what is the tech brand’s biggest launch to date.
Taking place after Samsung’s annual Unpacked event, ‘Galaxy AI is here’ was prophetically written in the stars, in an opening visual that stretched 160 metres wide across the city and took 650 hours to be designed and programmed.
The latest Galaxy S24 device was then beamed into the sky before morphing into the solar system – a direct nod to the infinite possibilities now available with Galaxy AI technology.
The scene culminated with a spectacular spaceship hovering over the skyline; the unusual product launch had some confused passersby questioning if this was a visit from another planet.
The stunt heralds a new era of advanced mobile AI technology on the Galaxy S24 device, which empowers everyday possibilities and transforms the iconic S series for the future as AI continues to become an essential part of our lives.
Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing, Omnichannel & Head of Ireland – MX Division said:
“To celebrate the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, we wanted to capture the wonder and amazement of this new age of smartphone by creating a spectacular drone show that would gaze beyond our planet and into the galaxy.
We brought the stars, solar system and universe closer than ever before to the British public to demonstrate the infinite possibilities as we look to embark on a new journey with Galaxy AI.”
Galaxy S series leads the way into a new era that will forever change how mobile devices empower users. AI amplifies nearly every experience on Galaxy S24 series, from enabling barrier-free communication with intelligent text and call translations, to maximising creative freedom with Galaxy’s ProVisual Engine, to setting a new standard for search that will change how Galaxy users discover the world around them.
The Galaxy S24 marks a milestone in the history of search as the first phone to debut intuitive Circle to Search with Google[2]. To give Galaxy users an incredible new tool, Samsung turned to the worldwide leader of search, Google, and opened up new forms of discovery with a simple gesture. Users can circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on Galaxy S24’s screen to see helpful, high-quality search results.
And when it comes to photography, Galaxy S24’s ProVisual Engine[3] is a comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools that transform image capturing abilities and maximise creative freedom every step of the way, from setting up a shot, all the way to sharing it on social. With upgraded Nightography capabilities, photos and videos shot on Galaxy S24 Space Zoom are brilliant in any conditions, even when zoomed in.
The new Galaxy S24 Series also features:
- When you need to communicate defying language barriers, Galaxy S24 makes it easier than ever. It’s all possible with Live Translate[4], two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls within the native app. No third-party apps are required, and on-device AI keeps conversations completely private.
- Galaxy gaming is more powerful thanks to hardware and software improvements.
- Secured by Samsung Knox, Galaxy’s defence-grade, multi-layer security platform, Galaxy S24 safeguards critical information and protects against vulnerabilities.
- Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first-ever Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame[5], enhancing device durability and longevity. Galaxy S24 Ultra’s significantly thinner body enables better on-the-go experience with more comfortable grip.
Starting on the 31st of January, the Galaxy S24 series will be widely available in operators, retailers and samsung.com with pre-orders beginning from the 17th of January.
