Freshen Up Your Fridge Freezer With Samsung
While we’re all busy cleaning and decluttering our homes, the inside of our appliances may not be getting the attention they deserve
Keeping the inside of your fridge freezer clean doesn’t need to be difficult but there are a few things to be mindful of
Our kitchens are often the heart of the home and places where we come together, to cook, eat and spend time. Our appliances are fundamental to this, but due to being constantly in use, as well as out of sight, out of mind, the inside of our ovens and fridge freezers can often be neglected during our household cleaning routine. Fridge freezers in particular face this problem, despite being a potential hotspot for bacteria to spread. With this in mind, it’s well worth doing what we can to keep them clean, hygienic and give them the TLC they deserve.
From chemicals to avoid, to helpful cleaning hacks, Samsung shares tips on keeping your fridge fresh so you can keep things hygienic and healthy, and most importantly, the family happy.
Top tips to keep your fridge fresh
- Aim to do a thorough clean of your fridge once a month. The best time to do this is usually the day before your grocery shop, when the fridge contents are at their fewest. With the Samsung Family Hub you can even set yourself a helpful reminder to do this.
- Remove all contents from your fridge before cleaning, placing them in a cool box or ice bucket so they stay fresh.
- Always avoid using cleaning products that contain abrasive chemicals as these can corrode or deteriorate metal and plastic. Check the ingredients and avoid using any of the following on your refrigerator; Methyl Palmitate, Methyl Linolate, Methyl Icosanoate, Limonene.
- Don’t forget to clean the outside of the fridge too, especially the handle and door surround, where germs can build up through frequent contact with hands.
- A quick and easy way to keep your fridge smelling fragrant is to cut a lemon into two and place the halves on the top and bottom shelves of your fridge.
- Ensure you are changing your water filter every six months. Many of the Samsung range of fridge freezers feature a helpful Filter Indicator light which turns red when it needs to be replaced.
Nick Bevan, Head of Product Management for Digital Appliances, Samsung Electronics said, “Our fridge freezers are essential to the way we live and eat, storing our groceries until we need them. But they are all too often forgotten about, particularly when it comes to cleaning. By taking the time to wipe down regularly and complete a deep clean on a monthly basis, you can ensure you are keeping your food in the best environment possible.”
