Joy, Dispensed. With 67% of the Nation Needing More Moments of Happiness, Samsung Launches an ATM with a Twist

Inspired by the things that brighten Brits days most, the gift-giving ‘Joy ATM’, will bring joy to Oxford Street shoppers on Friday 9th June.

LONDON, UK – 8^th June 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd: 67% of Brits agree that they could do with a bit more joy at the moment. 

And when it comes to what brings the UK the most joy, a study commissioned by Samsung1 has revealed it’s the simple things – with a random act of kindness coming top of the list (34%).

Receiving an unexpected gift (30%), discovering forgotten cash in your pocket (28%) and getting a phone call from a loved one (27%) were also ranked highly as positive endorphin givers.

Lucky for Brits, Samsung is bringing a dose of happiness to the UK’s capital as of tomorrow. The first ever ‘Joy ATM’ will be unveiled at the Samsung Experience Store, Oxford Street, where Brits can win free gifts in exchange for acts of joy. It celebrates the launch of Samsung’s new summer promotion, offering customers up to £200 cashback on select device purchases1 including the latest Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The concept is simple. Give a little joy, get a little back. At the touch of a button, the ATM will prompt visitors to perform a fun act; from telling a joke to sharing a smile, in exchange for a complimentary prize.

The Joy ATM is open to the public for one day only on Friday 9^th June between 12pm and 3pm at the Samsung Experience Store on Oxford Street.
