Inspired by the things that brighten Brits days most, the gift-giving ‘Joy ATM’, will bring joy to Oxford Street shoppers on Friday 9th June.

LONDON, UK – 8th June 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd: 67% of Brits agree that they could do with a bit more joy at the moment.

And when it comes to what brings the UK the most joy, a study commissioned by Samsung1 has revealed it’s the simple things – with a random act of kindness coming top of the list (34%).

Receiving an unexpected gift (30%), discovering forgotten cash in your pocket (28%) and getting a phone call from a loved one (27%) were also ranked highly as positive endorphin givers.

Lucky for Brits, Samsung is bringing a dose of happiness to the UK’s capital as of tomorrow. The first ever ‘Joy ATM’ will be unveiled at the Samsung Experience Store, Oxford Street, where Brits can win free gifts in exchange for acts of joy. It celebrates the launch of Samsung’s new summer promotion, offering customers up to £200 cashback on select device purchases1 including the latest Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The concept is simple. Give a little joy, get a little back. At the touch of a button, the ATM will prompt visitors to perform a fun act; from telling a joke to sharing a smile, in exchange for a complimentary prize.

“Our research[1] says that 67% of the nation could do with a little more joy. So, we want to show our valued customers that when you give a little joy, you get a little back. Our Joy ATM celebrates our incredible cashback promotion, which is our way of giving the nation an extra dose of happiness this summer”, said Annika Bizon, Marketing & Omni Channel Director for Samsung UK & Ireland.

What’s more, rewards have been matched to the top things bringing Brits joy. For the quarter of UK adults that love to get lost in their favourite tunes, Samsung is giving the chance to win Galaxy Buds2 Pro. And for those who like to bag a bargain with a shopping deal or discount code (24%), cash voucher prizes are up for grabs.

The Joy ATM is open to the public for one day only on Friday 9th June between 12pm and 3pm at the Samsung Experience Store on Oxford Street.

As part of Samsung’s summer cashback deal, customers who purchase an eligible Samsung device[2] can receive up to £250 cashback. Enjoy the ultimate hi-fi sound in your ear with £70 cashback for purchases of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, or £200 cashback for the ground-breaking Galaxy S23 Ultra and revolutionary foldable range: Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4. Customers can enjoy an array of fantastic savings this summer across Samsung’s smartphones, tablets, watches, buds, laptops, and storage.
