Samsung’s new AI update sees millions experiencing Galaxy AI across Europe

London, U.K. – May 03, 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced in February that Galaxy AI features, initially launched on flagship S24 products, would be available on more Galaxy devices through a new One UI 6.1 update engineered to further the democratisation of mobile AI. The update was made available across the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series, with the official rollout beginning in March.

Since its roll out Samsung has seen 8.8 million users downloading and actively using these Galaxy AI capabilities across Europe. The usage figures are growing each day, and by the end of 2024, Samsung targets to have over 100 million users experiencing its Galaxy AI features across the world.

James Kitto, Vice President and Head of MX, Samsung UK & Ireland, said, “Our goal has always been to bring the benefits of AI to everyone, unlocking the potential of this amazing new technology. We believe that AI has the power to enhance everyone’s mobile experience and we’re very pleased to see customers responding so well. In the UK alone we now have around two million people taking advantage of Galaxy AI features and this number is only increasing. The new era of AI has really taken hold and there’s so much more to come.”

With even more Galaxy users now being able to take advantage of the communication-enhancing Galaxy AI features, users are already finding their favourites when it comes to the new set of features available. The top used AI capabilities since launch include Galaxy AI Features such as Live Translate, Live Transcribe, Chat Assist, together with Circle to Search with Google[1].

Nearly 75% of Galaxy Z Fold5, 80% of S23 Ultra and nearly 65% of Tab S9 users across Europe have downloaded the One UI 6.1 update, making it  one of Samsung’s most popular ever software updates.

With the success of the first rollout of One UI 6.1, in April, Samsung is announcing the second roll-out phase, bringing Galaxy AI to even more Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Coverage will expand to the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 foldable phones, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets starting in May.

Users of wider Galaxy or Android smartphones can also experience the latest features of One UI 6.1 via the Try Galaxy app[2]. The Try Galaxy app simulates an actual Galaxy S24 home screen with tutorials and interactive content helping to navigate the interface and experience the latest Galaxy AI features.
