Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Zone V Limited, a specialist in making smartphones more accessible for the elderly, can today announce a partnership to help users connect with their loved ones during this time.

Exclusive to Samsung devices, and only available via the Galaxy Store, the Zone V app deploys a series of features to unlock the latest smartphones and smart products for elderly users and those with poor eyesight, hearing or dexterity.

Through this latest partnership, Samsung users can now experience all Zone V app functionalities, free of charge during the first four months[1], providing elderly people with a cost-free way of staying in touch with their family members in this period of isolation. This offer can be accessed without the need to insert payment details up-front to make the setup process as simple as possible.

The Zone V app provides an overlay that makes Samsung devices easy to read and simple to use, without compromising on any cutting-edge technology. The overlay consists of a simplified interface, with larger text and buttons and a clear colour scheme, designed to make the most important phone features easy to access, including calls and texts.

Zone V provides an additional touch of reassurance of the user’s health and safety with an in-built SOS function. When accessed, the SOS function provides immediate access to user’s emergency contacts and any medical information that the user has chosen to input. This could include allergies, medication, blood type, doctor’s details, insurance details and next of kin, but is entirely down to user discretion. The SOS assistance button sits on the lock screen meaning, in the case of an emergency, anyone that comes to help can have direct access to this vital information without needing a passcode.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Zone V with this excellent offer for our customers,” expressed Conor Pierce, Corporate Vice President, Samsung UK & Ireland. “We are living through a period of unparalleled difficulty and the ability to communicate with our loved ones has never been more important. The work Zone V does is vitally important in achieving this and we’re proud to house its technology exclusively on Samsung devices.”

“By partnering with Samsung to offer an exclusive four-month free trial on Samsung devices, Zone V hope to help many older people to stay connected with loved ones during this challenging time,” said   Dr Peter Ashall, CEO of Zone V Limited. “Zone V’s secure and deep integration with Samsung KNOX will enable all existing and new Samsung users to benefit from its easy to use interface and features such as big buttons, clear menus, large text as well as all their usual apps. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Samsung on this critical programme.”

The Zone V app can now be downloaded from the Galaxy Store, exclusive to Samsung devices.
