Samsung Family Hub™ Refrigerator now Available to Purchase in the UK

Next generation appliance set to revolutionise the kitchen and is available to buy now from selected retailers including Currys, AO.com and John Lewis

Samsung Electronics today announced that its premium Family Hub™ Refrigerator, designed with consumers’ evolving lifestyles in mind, is now available to buy in the UK. Providing new ways to shop for, cook and manage food as well as helping to plan family life and enhance the home entertainment experience, the Family Hub™ Refrigerator is the ultimate luxury smart home appliance.

Available in two models, the Multi-Door and the Fridge Freezer, the refrigerators’ unique 21.5 inch full HD LCD resolution screen located on the upper right exterior door is designed to act as a family’s digital command centre, combining powerful performance with ground-breaking technology. The screen allows owners to post, share and update calendars, pin photos, share kids’ works of art, and leave notes for the family, making the refrigerator the hub of the home.

Improved food management

From efficiently managing grocery needs, to helping you track product expiration dates, the Family Hub™ is the go-to resource to keep your kitchen fully stocked.

Using the latest in refrigerator technology, three high quality cameras inside the fridge capture an image every time the door closes. Owners can then access these images anytime using the Samsung Smart Home app (available on iOS and Android) on their smartphone to take a peek inside their fridge, so there will be no more forgetting that vital ingredient! Even at the supermarket, owners can check on what they need for dinner that night, by simply opening up the Samsung Smart Home app in order to have a real time view of the contents of their refrigerator.

Family Hub™ owners can also track expiration dates by entering the number of days their food has left. The number automatically counts down and can be checked via the Food Reminder app on the touchscreen without even opening the door, or via the Samsung Smart Home app.

Food for thought

Owners of the Family Hub™ will also be able to access recipes created by members of Samsung’s Club des Chefs including the Michelin starred, Michel Roux Jr., as well as thousands of recipes from partners such as Whisk*, which delivers personal recipe recommendations based upon your unique tastes and allows you to convert the ingredients required to the shopping basket within a few clicks, based on your favourite menus.

Send notes and reminders to one another on the touchscreen with the StickiBoard App (available on iOS and Android) as well as sharing all your favourite pictures and memories on the main display**.

Connected entertainment

Owners can stream music through the TuneIn radio app through its built-in speakers or Bluetooth wireless speakers and can even enjoy their favourite programs on the Family Hub™ screen using Screen mirroring with a Samsung Smart TV***, a huge benefit if you’re preparing food but don’t want to miss a moment from your favourite show.
