Samsung Launches New A+++ Rated Heat Pump 9KG Tumble Dryers That Save £330 on Household Energy Bills
New Series 5, 5+, 6+ and 8 heat pump tumble dryers recycle moist air to gently dry clothes, resulting in lower running costs
LONDON, UK – 23rd August 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has today announced the launch of its new Series 5, 5+, 6+ and 8 A+++ Rated 9KG Tumble Dryers, featuring Heat Pump technology that saves £330[1] on annual household energy bills when compared to a standard condenser tumble dryer.
Samsung’s energy efficient Heat Pump technology makes sure clothes are optimally dried while saving on power consumption. It works by absorbing water from the laundry by passing hot air through the drum, which evaporates and removes the water. This air is then reheated and sent back through the drum multiple times until the laundry is dry.
What’s more, the new Series 5, 5+,6+ and 8 A+++ Rated Tumble Dryers are gentle on fabrics, with a maximum temperature of 60 degrees compared to 120 degrees with a standard condenser tumble dryer. Other key features include:
- OptimalDry™ technology uses moisture and temperature sensors to adjust the drying time. As well as protecting your clothes from damage, it saves energy too.
- Super Speed means up to 5KG of clothes can be dried in just 81 minutes. This means that if you have a Samsung Series 8 Washing Machine with 39mins Super Speed you can get 5kg of clothes washed and dried in 2 hours.
- Smart Control + offers the opportunity to check laundry whilst out of the home, making sure clothes come out perfect each time by using the SmartThings app. View notifications and alerts on the dryer’s progress, download new cycles to use and keep an eye on things.
What’s more, save over £350 a year when using Samsung A rated Washing Machines (£23 saving) and Samsung A+++ Heat Pump Tumble Dryers (£330 saving)[2]. The launch comes as research by Samsung reveals shoppers are seeking out home appliances which support their move towards a more conscious lifestyle[3]. Ensuring all home appliances are energy efficient (51%) topped the list, followed by considering a tumble dryer with a heat pump to support energy efficiency (20%).
Dan Harvie, VP, Head of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics (UK & Ireland) Ltd., said: “More consumers than ever are snapping up products which support their ever-changing lifestyles. We’ve adapted accordingly, from launching ovens which promote healthy eating, with various options to air fry and steam food, to now launching the new Series 5, 5+, 6+ and 8 A+++ Rated Heat Pump Tumble Dryers. We look forward to many more innovations as we continue to adapt as a business.”
