Solve for Tomorrow recognised for providing young people across the UK with alternative learning experiences
LONDON, UK – 18th November, 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd win Best CSR Project at the CRN Channel Awards with their Solve for Tomorrow programme.
The CRN Channel Awards recognise organisations operating within the UK IT Channel, with their Best CSR Project category highlighting businesses that are working to make the world a better place. This award marks the fourth time this year that Solve for Tomorrow in the UK has been recognised for its impact in enabling young people from all backgrounds to get creative and explore alternative methods of learning, with the programme also winning bronze at the Corporate Engagement Awards, and being shortlisted for The Drum Social Purpose Awards, and the Global Good Awards.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow encourages young minds aged 11-25 to unpick and take action against challenges faced by society by harnessing technology. Over 17,000 young people directly engaged with the programme in 2021, in the form of competitions, year-round workshops and online courses open to all.
For 11-15 year olds, the Solve for Tomorrow: Next Gen programme helps students and their teachers to learn more about STEM careers and Design Thinking, and encourages them to create their own tech for good ideas for the chance to win exciting tech prizes. The programme is now in 16% of secondary schools in the UK and Ireland, with prizes including Samsung Galaxy phones, Samsung Galaxy Books, and a Samsung QM49R UD Screen and Education Assistant subscription.
In October, the Solve for Tomorrow Competition relaunched for 2023. The programme invites 16-25 year olds across the UK and Ireland to submit their own tech-for-good ideas that address a problem within the area of Education, Sustainability, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Social Isolation for the chance to take part in a series of workshops, receive mentoring from Samsung employees, and win the top £10,000 prizes.
