London, UK – 21-23 May 2019 – Samsung’s 2019 Serif TV was included in Established & Sons Clerkenwell Design Week installation, titled ‘At Work’. The collection showcases crossover designs that are a response to the rise of the live-work space and shifting attitudes towards aesthetics in the working environment.

“The working environment is no longer about meeting rooms, task chairs and desk systems” says Sebastian Wrong, Design Director, co-founder and curator of Established & Sons ‘At Work’ installation, “home has become the office and the office has become the home”.

The new collection includes Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec’s innovative GRID, a colourful room within a room. GRID is designed to offer a completely flexible, playful and multifunctional workspace environment. Serif TV was included as part of the display, which was developed by Samsung in collaboration with the brothers to showcase how a forward-thinking design grounded in a very real need can function within this new style of working environment.

“Serif is an object that can stand anywhere and be easily moved. What we were looking for was a solid presence that would sit naturally in various environments, just like any other piece of furniture” said Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. “Serif is another take on the world of TVs that, as its core competence, is a natural addition to any contemporary interior”.

“Samsung is pleased to have brought the Serif back with QLED technology as part of its 2019 TV range. Its innovative design and performance showcase how seamlessly it can blend into daily life” says Guy Kinnell, Vice President, TV/AV at Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd. “The Serif goes beyond the traditional needs of a TV, to become pieces of décor that elevate the design of any space, whether it’s for living or work”.

London, UK – Wednesday 15th May 2019 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Is pleased to announce that the new 2019 Frame and Serif TVs will launch today. Combining award-winning and innovative design, this year’s flagship lifestyle TV models fit any home décor with superb QLED technology, providing consumers with the best picture quality for an immersive TV viewing experience.

Going beyond the realms of traditional TV to pieces of home décor, this year’s enhanced models of The Frame and award-winning Serif TV make a statement by elevating the design of your home.

Samsung Serif TV

The Serif TV has been developed in collaboration with Paris-based design brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, two of the world’s most famous furniture designers who, through the Serif TV, have created a bold aesthetic product.

After two years of anticipation, Samsung has brought the Serif TV back with the improved pristine picture quality of Samsung’s QLED technology. When used as a TV, The Serif offers deep contrasts, dark blacks and 100% colour volume [1], providing over a billion shades of colour for the best possible viewing experience. Samsung’s updated Ambient Mode [2] also provides information, such as news headlines and weather updates, as well as the ability to display imagery and blend into any living space when the TV is turned off, enhancing The Serif’s overall functionality.

In the past, The Serif TV was sold almost exclusively in furniture shops and department stores given its focus on interior décor and the importance of colour, but it will be available for purchase at selected consumer electronics retailers in 2019. Prices for The Serif start at £1,199.99 and is available in white at three sizes; 43, 49 and 55-inch, offering consumers more flexibility to customise their home.

The 2019 Frame TV

The Frame goes beyond the traditional concept of a TV by encouraging consumers to consider where it lives and how it exists in the home. With bold design and brave thinking, The Frame offers a functional piece of home décor that can be customised to suit individual styles, defining the TV’s role in the home. When not being used to enjoy TV or movies, The Frame’s Art Mode can display personal pictures and memories or choose from more than 1,000 pieces of art from prestigious artists around the world from the Art Store. The Art Store includes collections from galleries such as The Tate Gallery, the V&A Museum, and The Royal Collection, and allows users to subscribe for £3.99/month. When mounted, The Frame hangs flush to the wall thanks to the No Gap Wall Mount included in the box as an added value, plus users can choose from four different coloured magnetic frames, allowing them to be easily swapped to suit individual home décor.

The 2019 Frame and Serif TV combine award-winning and innovative design that fits any home décor with superb QLED picture quality and Smart features to provide consumers with the best possible TV experience.

The Frame and Serif TV, Samsung’s flagship lifestyle TV’s, go beyond the traditional TV to pieces of home décor that elevate the design of any living space. At CES 2019, this year’s Frame and SERIF TV will be on display in the large lifestyle TV exhibition zone of Samsung’s booth to showcase their innovative design, performance, and how they seamlessly blend into daily life.

“The traditional TV was only focused on technical features, such as picture quality and performance, but now TVs are also a lifestyle platform that blends in consumers’ daily life,” said Jongsuk Choo, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This year’s models of The Frame and SERIF TV are enhanced lifestyle TVs that deliver a TV experience like nothing before.”
