London – Friday, December 6, 2024: As Christmas draws closer, new research from Samsung found that leftovers are a consistent headache for Christmas cooks, keeping our fridges jam-packed throughout the festive season, with one in four (80%) of households admitting to being left with surplus supplies after the main Christmas dinner or lunch.

Turkey was the main offender, with one in four households having leftovers, followed by the humble potato and the much-maligned Brussel sprout. Gravy, carrots, and chocolates tie at 15%, while indulgent treats like Christmas cake (14%) and cheese (13%) also make the list.

The top ten ingredients most commonly leftover:

Turkey (25%)

Potatoes (20%)

Brussel sprouts (16%)

Gravy (15%)

Carrots (15%)

Chocolates (15%)

Christmas Cake (14%)

Stuffing (14%)

Chicken (13%)

Cheese (13%)

From Surplus to Scrumptious: How Samsung Food Transforms Christmas Leftovers

To solve Christmas cooking challenges, Samsung’s innovative home appliances can take the stress out of every Christmas meal, whether cooking fresh or with leftovers, leaving hosts to enjoy the day with family and friends. From smart appliances like Samsung’s Dual Cook oven that allows different dishes to be cooked at different temperatures or for different lengths of time, through to innovative AI-powered solutions that automates cooking decisions, Christmas can be prepped on autopilot.

Dan Barfield, Director of Digital Appliances at Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said: “If you are hosting at Christmas it can often feel like a never-ending task, with preparation for the main Christmas dinner starting days, if not weeks, beforehand. Every year we face the same challenges around the big day – striving to make the dishes we share perfect and on time, for friends and family.

“That’s why our latest features focus on how we can make our customers’ lives easier. Whether it’s leftover menu inspiration, checking the oven whilst you watch the Christmas movie, or cooking two different dishes at different temperatures in the same oven, our innovative features can take the stress out of any cooking endeavour. It’s just like having your very own sous chef!”

Your own personal sous chef with AI Pro Cooking: Available on the latest Samsung models, it optimises cooking settings, recommends mode, temperature, and time for recognised dishes, and allows real-time monitoring via the SmartThings App’s View Inside feature.

Dual Cook Steam Oven turns two cooking tasks into one: With two independent cooking zones, it lets you cook multiple dishes at different temperatures without flavour transfer, ideal for turkey and dessert prep. Energy-efficient features reduce usage by over 25% and preheat 52% faster[1], saving time and streamlining holiday cooking.

Samsung fridges deliver maximum flexibility when space is at a premium: When it comes to keeping a stocked-up fridge fresh, Samsung fridges are perfect for busy kitchens at Christmas, combining innovative features to maximise freshness and storage. Humidity Fresh crisper drawers preserve fruits and vegetables with adjustable settings, while Space Max technology offers increased capacity without increasing external size[2]. Twin Cooling Plus ensures separate cooling for fridge and freezer, preventing flavour crossover, while Smart Conversion lets you switch the freezer to fridge mode—ideal for hosting large groups during the festive season. Select models also feature AI Vision Inside, an internal camera[3] that can identify certain fresh food items[4] when put in or taken out and allows you to manage a food list, helping to reduce waste.

LONDON, United Kingdom – September 5, 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced new features and updates for Samsung Food[1] — a personalised, AI-powered food and recipe platform — to celebrate its first anniversary, all of which will be showcased at IFA 2024. Since its debut at IFA last year, Samsung Food has garnered over six million users,[2] becoming an essential tool for meal planning and cooking in the modern home. The platform’s most popular features include Recipe functions, Shopping List, and Meal Planner.

“As people look to get more out of their food — with help from their appliances — we’re thrilled to be upgrading Samsung Food with different types of powerful new functionality,” said Moohyung Lee, EVP and Head of Customer Experience Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “Moving forward, with a key focus on user experiences, we will continually enhance the platform with AI and other technologies to support the preparation of meals that are easier, simpler and healthier.”

Photo Image of Samsung Food

Samsung Food is a holistic food platform available on various Samsung devices, including and beyond home appliances. Samsung Food+, the premium subscription service[3] of Samsung Food, elevates the experience by integrating a health profile and goals, providing personalised meal plans with recipe recommendations. And now, AI is being added to bring differentiated functionality to users around the globe.

Samsung is making food preparation more convenient by rolling out the Vision AI technology for Samsung Food+, which allows users to add items to their Food List by simply snapping a photo of their food items with a smartphone. This functionality means that users owning Bespoke refrigerators with a Family Hub screen[4] without AI Vision Inside — the internal camera that recognises food items that goes in and out of the fridge — can now also easily add items with photos to their Food List.

Other benefits of the Samsung Food+ subscription service include automatically adding purchased ingredients to the Food List when users check out at the store or online, and searching for recipes based on the contents of the Food List. Users can also get alerts to help them use the items before the manually set use-by-date, helping reduce food waste.

Samsung Food+ further provides the meal plans based on users’ Food List to support sustainable food practice goals by personalising each plan based on the ingredients in users’ Food Lists, prioritising those nearing use-by-date. And with the new “Search with Your Food List” feature, recipes using the ingredients listed in their Food Lists will show on top of the search results to help users with ideas on what can be made with what they have. Recipe recommendations are also provided based on the Food List, and whatever has been used from the Food List is recommended to be added to the Shopping List. This intelligent approach helps inventory maintenance and to reduce food waste while ensuring fresh, tasty meals.

Reach Health Goals With Personalised Meal Plans

Samsung Food now features enhanced tools designed to support users to better maintain their health and to reach wellness goals. The platform provides nutrition-focused meal plans that track and monitor caloric intake within daily meal schedules, whether for recipes or individual food items. It offers “Tailored for You” plans[5], delivering weekly recipe and snack recommendations based on users’ nutritional needs[6], chosen diets and previous recipe preferences. The system tracks macronutrient intake within daily meal plans and allows customisable calorie and macronutrient targets for individual health objectives. While Samsung Food users receive three days of recommendations per week, paid and subscribed Samsung Food+ users benefit from a full week of recommendations, with the intelligent platform also factoring in the manually set use-by-dates of ingredients.

London, UK – Dec. 27, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it will use CES® 2024 to introduce Samsung’s newest kitchen products, applications and features, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and SmartThings connectivity, enabling an ecosystem that delivers better food and kitchen experiences. Notable products and features in the lineup include the 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+[1] — which is the industry’s first home Internet of Things (IoT) refrigerator launched in 2016 — equipped with the all-new AI Vision Inside feature, the new Anyplace Induction Cooktop and enhancements to the Samsung Food service.

“We are both proud and excited to be showcasing these upgraded AI and connectivity features, which utilize the latest technology to help everyone take their food and kitchen experiences to the next level,” said Moohyung Lee, EVP and Head of the Customer eXperience Team of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to letting users enjoy the many benefits of our innovative food ecosystem across a wide range of devices and features.”

AI Features That Enable Food Ideas and Intelligence

To enhance the experience in the kitchen, the 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ has been packed with a variety of innovative technologies. One impressive new feature is AI Vision Inside, which uses a smart internal camera that can recognize items being placed in and out of the refrigerator. Also, it is equipped with ‘Vision AI’ technology, which can identify up to 33 different fresh food items based on predefined set of training data comprising approximately one million food photographs[2] . With the food list that is available and editable on the Family Hub+ screen, users can also manually add expiration date information for items that they would like to keep track, and the refrigerator sends out alerts through its 32” LCD screen for items before reaching that date.

Image of food list generated by AI Vision Inside on Family Hub+

Also, with the assistance of the Fridge Manager feature, which monitors the status of the water filter in the refrigerator and alerts when a replacement is needed, the Family Hub+ screen offers easy, one-click purchase of new water filters from Amazon[3].

Appliance screen functionality does not stop there. Samsung’s new Anyplace Induction Cooktop and Slide-in Range are each equipped with a 7” LCD screen, where users can view the recipes that were selected and saved from the Family Hub+ to assist their meal preparation. The new Anyplace Induction also offers improvements in its basic cooking features such as efficient and borderless heating of pots and pans on any part of the cooktop, thanks to Samsung’s induction sheet coil technology. And with Anti-Scratch Glass applied instead of a typical ceramic glass, users won’t have to worry about scratching their induction surface when moving cookware.

What’s more, the Samsung Food application — which can now be accessed on the Family Hub+, the Anyplace Induction Cooktop and the Slide-in Range — brings several upgraded AI features. The ‘Personalize’ feature3 powered by the enhanced Food AI allows users to adapt recipes to reflect their dietary requirements beyond what was previously available — vegan, fusion — to accommodate gluten-free, pescatarian, dairy-free and other diets. Meanwhile, the new ‘Image-to-Recipe’ feature[4] with the enhanced Vision AI now recognizes meals and multiple food items from photographs and explores dishes that can be made with those ingredients. Lastly, Tailored Meal Plan analyzes users’ information by connecting to their Samsung Health profiles[5] to create personalized meals based on their health needs.

AI-Powered Connected Appliances and Features for an Enhanced Kitchen Every Day

LONDON, UK – Tuesday 6th September 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd: While the nation’s enthusiasm to give baking a go is renewed when its favourite baking competition hits the screens – more than three quarters (77%) are incapable of baking a successful cake, admitting they don’t have what it takes to be a star baker.

With September officially the UK’s biggest birthday month, melted icing, soggy bottoms and dry sponge risk leaving our efforts looking half-baked, with over half the nation (53%) admitting to throwing cakes out because they are inedible.

And despite birthdays being 50% of the nation’s favourite occasion for cake-making, some Brits have even admitted to faking it rather than baking it, as nearly a quarter (23%) have gone as far as buying a cake and passing it off as their own.

The new research by Samsung also reveals that making a cake is a technical challenge for Brits, with the UK’s top fails including cakes not rising (33%), burning the top (20%), and having a soggy bottom (19%).

And those living in Leicester have proven to be the nation’s worst bakers, with 15% rating their baking skills as terrible.

The nation’s least-skilled baking regions:

Leicester (15%)

Brighton (12%)

Edinburgh (12%)

Birmingham (11%)

Belfast (10%)

To help save the nation’s birthday bakes this month, Samsung has partnered with recipe creator Becky Excell, to help family and friends rise to the occasion and bake smarter this September.

Becky Excell, Best-Selling Author and Food Writer said “Us Brits love to bake. But baking a birthday cake for a loved one can be very stressful for those whose bakes don’t always turn out how they would have hoped…! Having an oven that you can trust is key, and with Samsung’s Series 7 Bespoke AI Oven and its wealth of smart AI features, you can be confident that the centrepiece of that birthday bash is a sure-fire success”.

“Our research says that over 55% of the nation have blamed their oven for their baking disasters. As 70% feel having smarter tech in the kitchen would help improve their baking skills, the Series 7 Bespoke AI Oven will give them the confidence to do just that, with food recognition and burn detection settings[1]. With its Film Inside function[2], Brits can also keep an eye on their cooking and even take their bakes viral and share time-lapse videos of their creations using social media”, said Gino Grossi, Head of Brand Marketing for Home Appliances for Samsung UK

To avoid birthday-bake disasters, Becky Excell shares her top tips for creating a showstopper:

Weigh out your ingredients using digital electronic scales: Precision is everything when it comes to baking. Add a little too much or not enough of something and you can completely alter the texture of a cake. Fortunately, digital electronic scales are very affordable these days, and you can often pick up a good one in supermarkets or online.

Bake smart with the right equipment: It can be so easy to get excited or anxious about how a bake is coming along, but opening the oven mid-way through to check will result in an instant change of temperature, which can lead to a cake sinking or collapsing. I know it’s tempting to sneak a peek but try not to! It can also be easy to open the oven when you’re baking a batch of cookies for instance and think they’re nowhere near done because they’re still really soft. However, remember that the heat inside the cookies will allow them to continue baking a little once out of the oven. If you leave them in until they are firmer, you will end up with hard, crumbly, overbaked cookies.

The beauty of the Series 7 Bespoke AI Oven is that, with its internal camera and powerful AI, you can check on your bake along its journey without having to open the oven door at all. It even has a burn detection settingwhich you can use via the SmartThings App.

Cool down: Allow your bakes to fully cool down before decorating them. I know you might be in a rush to finish a cake, but icing a cake whilst it’s still warm is the worst idea ever, as the icing will likely melt or slide off. More haste, less speed! Also, don’t forget to remove your bakes from their tins and allow them to fully cool on a cooling rack.

Use room temperature ingredients unless the recipe says otherwise: When it comes to baking, it’s always a good idea to ensure your ingredients are all at room temperature. Guaranteeing none are too hot or too cold will mean that they all combine well, forming a smoother batter and a better-textured cake. Get your butter out of the fridge well in advance of when you need it and, if you keep your eggs in the fridge, make sure they come out before they’re needed too. There are of course situations where you’ll need cold butter, such as when making pastry, but room temperature is best for cakes.

Don’t leave your cake batter sitting around for too long: When baking a cake, always make sure you pre-heat the oven first because you don’t want your cake batter sitting on the side for too long! Raising agents within the batter will start to activate and this will lead to your cake not rising as much when it goes into the oven.

The nation’s top baking fails:

Cake didn’t rise (33%)

Burnt top (20%)

Soggy bottom (19%)

Melted icing (15%)

Sunken sponge (15%)

Dry cake (15%)

Rock hard sponge (15%)

Cake too thin to cut in half (12%)

Fruit sunk to the bottom (11%)

Lumpy un-sifted flour in cake (10%)

LONDON, UK – 31st August 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd today showcased its latest innovations for the connected home. During its IFA 2023 press conference, the company highlighted its vision for SmartThings is to enable consumers across Europe to prioritise the topics they care about – from saving energy, increasing security and access to great entertainment to making their everyday lives more efficient. The ever-growing SmartThings ecosystem allows its 285 million registered users to adapt and personalise their homes to suit their needs, seamlessly connecting and controlling multiple appliances and devices via one app.

Samsung’s presence at IFA 2023 comes as the company shares new consumer research, conducted across Europe to understand evolving needs for technology in the home[1].

“Samsung is passionate about connecting our users to the people, places and pastimes that matter most to them,” said Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Europe. “We will continue to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the latest innovations in technology to make sure the SmartThings ecosystem grows and develops in a way that allows people to make even more of the connections that matter.”

Enhancing the at-home experience

The SmartThings app allows users to control their homes from anywhere, helping them to enjoy seamless entertainment as well as keeping them safe. Across Europe, our homes continue to be more important than ever as they play multiple roles each day – from offices to places for relaxation and entertainment. Seven in ten consumers (71%) agree that technology has a positive impact on their everyday living, including how they interact with their friends and family, how they conduct their chores and how they enjoy their hobbies[2].

Now, those with a passion for food can fully connect themselves to the joy of cooking and eating with Samsung Food, the new all-in-one app for recipe searching, saving and sharing, meal planning, cooking and grocery shopping. Announced at the press conference, Samsung Food is available in 104 countries and eight languages, and puts the world’s food knowledge at users’ fingertips, empowering them to make the food, health and cooking decisions that are right for them. It also connects to users’ kitchens, instantly sending the right time and temperature to their compatible Samsung oven. With more than 160,000 recipes, there will always be something new to cook.

By the end of the year, using Food AI, Samsung Food will provide personalised recipes reflecting users’ dietary requirements, such as converting recipes into a vegan version in just a few taps. In a further enhancement due later this year, it will link with Samsung Health so tailored meal plans can be adapted to suit preferences and dietary requirements, as well as support users in reaching their health goals. In 2024, using Vision AI technology, Samsung Food will use photos taken of meals to check nutritional information, recognise ingredients and recommend the best recipes to use them in.

As the number one TV brand for 17 years in a row[3], Samsung has an unrivalled commitment to entertainment. It has completed its super screen line up with the launch of the 98” Neo QLED 8K and 4K Q80C and plans to bring its full range of Micro LED screens to Europe by the end of the year, offering incredible contrast and jaw-dropping detail that places viewers in the middle of the action whether gaming or watching films.

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Samsung has announced the launch of The Frame – Disney100 Edition, featuring an exclusive bezel in the Disney100 signature platinum silver metal and a unique Mickey Mouse inspired Disney remote. It also comes with 100 pieces of iconic art from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel, Lucasfilm and National Geographic, as well as classic images of Mickey, Minnie, Woody, Cinderella and many others[4]. Users can also display their family photos for a magical home environment.

Also announced at the press conference was the global launch of The Freestyle 2nd Gen. This versatile, portable projector delivers a big screen experience wherever the user chooses – even on the ceiling. The Smart Edge Blending feature offers landscape and portrait screen experiences, meaning two of The Freestyle 2nd Gen projectors can be paired to give a 160” panoramic and 120” vertical viewing experience[5]. What is more, with complete access to the Samsung Gaming Hub, users of The Freestyle 2nd Gen can enjoy the biggest games from Samsung’s streaming partners[6].

In partnership with Xbox and Bethesda Softworks, this now includes Starfield, the stunning, next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars. Playable through the Samsung Gaming Hub with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, without the need for a console[7].

Taking small steps for our planet

Samsung is committed to developing products and services that help people save money and take steps towards a better planet. These topics are high on the agenda for consumers too, over three quarters (77%) say they seek out tech products that save energy – not only to save money, but for the benefit of the environment too[8]. Two-thirds (67%) also consider it important that their next appliance can connect to an app that allows them to monitor and reduce their energy consumption[9].

With energy prices increasing across Europe[10], 72% of those asked are concerned about the cost of running appliances in their home[11]. To help combat this, SmartThings Energy can help users optimise the energy used across their appliances to suit their needs and lower usage. For example, AI Energy Mode in SmartThings Energy allows you to monitor and reduce your washing machine’s energy use by up to 70%[12] by using Ecobubble to wash with cool water instead of warm.

Samsung has also partnered with global ocean conservation organisation Ocean Wise and apparel maker Patagonia to find solutions to the issue of microfiber shedding. The Less Microfiber Filter is an external washing machine filter that cuts up to 98% of microplastic emissions from laundry cycles[13]. Speaking at IFA, Charlie Cox, Manager of Microplastic Solutions at Ocean Wise said: “Through our collaboration with Samsung and Patagonia, Ocean Wise is proud to have shown a way for industry to play its part in stemming the flow of microfibers into the ocean. Through innovations like the Less Microfiber Filter, we can empower individuals to reduce their microfiber footprint at home. It is a simple, everyday solution that our oceans will thank us for.”

Heating technologies like heat pumps represent a rapidly growing market, and Samsung is at the forefront of this growth. Its innovative smart air source heat pumps have seen an unprecedented 97% growth in sales since 2022[14]. These work with domestic hot water tanks or with Samsung’s ClimateHub, to make your home comfortable all year round, whatever the weather. They can also connect to the SmartThings ecosystem, so their energy use can be monitored and tailored to the user’s preferred environment[15]. The latest addition to its range of high temperature monobloc heat pump solutions, the EHS Mono R290, launches in September.

Samsung’s journey is constantly evolving as it aims to design technology that helps people make the most of their day while taking small steps to reduce our environmental impact. The Galaxy Z Flip5[16] and Fold5[17] and the Galaxy Tab S9[18] series feature a variety of recycled materials, including recycled aluminium, glass and plastics sourced from ocean-bound discarded fishing nets, water barrels and PET bottles. All of these Galaxy innovations come in packaging boxes made using recycled paper material[19].

Keeping your home secure

Samsung understands the reassurance that smart technology can provide across the generations. Security was a theme from the research conducted. Watching their home while they aren’t there (54%), feeling safer when home alone (39%) and keeping their family safe when they are out of the house (39%) are seen as the key safety benefits of smart technology[20].

The SmartThings ecosystem includes a range of partners who are committed to helping people keep their homes and loved ones safe. This now includes Yale, a leading brand in home security. The Yale Linus® Smart Lock and the new Smart Opener for Gate & Garage enable doors and gates to be locked remotely via the app to ensure peace of mind for all family members.

Unlocking the future through smart technology

Samsung is invested in a future built around the possibilities that technology can unlock. One area it aims to make a difference is in making the technology for smart homes more easily available. The research shows a quarter of Europeans consider the inclusion of smart technology to be a key factor in the desirability of their next home and over three quarters of respondents said fully functional smart homes are appealing (77%)[21].

Understanding this, Samsung is working to make these possibilities a reality and it believes in the power of collaboration when it comes to driving this vision forward. By partnering with ABB Smart Buildings and SMA, one of the world’s leading providers of photovoltaic and storage system technology, it hopes to connect people more closely to their homes by embedding the possibilities of smart technology into houses before they are bought. By integrating ABB and SMA products into SmartThings Energy, homes can become even safer, smarter and more sustainable. For example, the ability to run appliances at the optimum time, tracking energy use to adjust consumption based on energy prices and usage patterns, and optimising energy use based on solar production.

London, United Kingdom – August 31, 2023 – Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of Samsung Food, a new personalised, AI-powered food and recipe platform.

Releasing in eight languages in 104 countries around the world, Samsung Food will offer comprehensive food experiences through more than 160,000 available recipes, acting as a personalised assistant that helps users discover new dishes, create tailored meal plans and order ingredients online. The service will also help users control their cooking appliances, guide them through cooking processes and allow them to share their favorite recipes through social functions.

Building on the foundation of Samsung’s wide range of cooking appliances and food services, Samsung Food utilises big data and AI technology to go beyond existing capabilities and deliver a food platform truly adapted to the needs and lifestyles of its users. To accomplish this, Samsung Food draws from the extensive database of Whisk, a recipe app acquired by Samsung in 2019 that leverages Food AI technology.

“The food we enjoy and the way we prepare it are central to our daily lives, and we all love to cook and eat together,” said Chanwoo Park, Executive Vice President and Head of the Service Biz Group of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “By connecting digital appliances and mobile devices across the Samsung ecosystem and assisting users from shopping list to dinner plate, Samsung Food is using advanced AI capabilities to deliver a highly personalised, all-in-one food experience that users can control straight from their palms.”

Food Your Way: Recipe Exploration and Personalisation, AI-enhanced Meal Planning, Kitchen Connectivity and Social Sharing

Samsung Food’s wide range of features supports users every step of the way during the meal planning and cooking process, spanning four key areas: recipe discovery and personalisation, tailored meal planning, connected cooking and social functions.

For recipe discovery, Samsung Food lets users save recipes to their personal digital recipe box anytime from anywhere. The app analyses recipes, standardises their format and organises them to create shopping lists based on their ingredients.

Samsung Food also comes with a Personalise Recipe function, enabling the app’s Food AI to directly change a saved recipe to better reflect users’ dietary lifestyles – by converting a recipe into a vegan or vegetarian version, for example – make a recipe more nutritionally balanced or incorporate in-stock ingredients. Users will even be able to create fusion recipes, such as Korean versions of Italian dishes, and adjust the cook time or skill level of a recipe.

To create individualised daily meal plans for users, the app makes AI-created recommendations based on health data, dietary preferences and favorite cuisine types and lets users add them to their meal planner. Full nutritional breakdowns of ingredients are available at any time, and users can add items to their Samsung Food shopping list then send it straight to a retailer’s e-commerce checkout.

With connected cooking, seamless Samsung Food connectivity lets users set timers, preheat ovens and send recipes’ cook settings straight to appliances through step-by-step guided cooking modes, all from their portable devices. Starting with the Bespoke Oven, Samsung Electronics plans to connect numerous appliances – including Bespoke induction ranges and Bespoke microwaves – to Samsung Food by the end of the year to expand convenience for users in the kitchen.

Through socialising features, users can share their favorite dishes with the community, create and publish their own recipes and follow their favorite food content creators.

From Samsung Health Incorporation to Vision AI: Upcoming Features for Samsung Food

Beyond Samsung Food capabilities available at launch, Samsung will continue adding new features and services to the app for an even more seamless and comprehensive personal food experience.

By the end of the year, Samsung Health will work together with Samsung Food to provide optimised solutions for health management, including personalised meal recommendations based on data such as BMI, body composition and calorie consumption, helping users hit health goals while maintaining a balanced diet.

Planned for implementation in 2024, Vision AI technology will enable Samsung Food to recognise food items and meals photographed through the camera and provide details about them, including nutrition information. By analysing food items, the app can recommend the best recipes to use them with, save these recipes to the user’s collection and add the required ingredients to a shopping list, all in a few taps.

As a part of Samsung’s ever-growing family of services, Samsung Food represents the next step in the comprehensive yet highly bespoke experience Samsung customers can enjoy in their own home. Samsung Food strives to further extend the ease that is possible with a smart, connected kitchen of Samsung home appliances, and will continue to be updated with new features following its official launch.
