At Milano Cortina 2026, Victory Selfie continued to grow into an iconic podium culture, reflecting how athletes choose to remember and share the emotion of the moment — whether standing alone, side by side, or as a team. Powered by the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition^[1], medalists captured their victories during the medal ceremony, turning medal moments into personal, shareable memories in their own voice.

For Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung provided the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition to nearly 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians. Designed as an intelligent, pocket-sized companion, the Olympic Edition supported athletes from Olympic Village life to medal ceremonies.

Dynamic Perspectives: Galaxy Devices Integrated Into the Opening Ceremony Broadcast

Milano Cortina 2026 also expanded how fans experienced Games-time storytelling. In collaboration with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Samsung helped introduce new, immersive perspectives into the Opening Ceremony broadcast environment.

For the first time at an Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony, 26 Galaxy S25 Ultra devices were embedded across the live broadcast setting. Positioned across athlete entrance tunnels, stadium stands and dynamic camera rig placements, Galaxy devices captured immersive views wirelessly and in real time — complementing traditional broadcast infrastructure and helping viewers worldwide feel closer to the emotion of the moment.

From the Parade of Nations to behind-the-scenes celebrations, athletes also used their Galaxy devices to capture and share personal Opening Ceremony memories — extending the experience beyond the stadium into the hands of the people who lived it.

Beyond the Spotlight: Connecting Everyday Moments Across the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Across Olympic Villages and venues, Samsung equipped select Games-time support teams with Galaxy devices featuring Interpreter, powered by Galaxy AI^[6] — enabling real-time translation processed directly on device, supporting day-to-day interactions without relying on network connectivity across geographically distributed mountain locations.

In total, more than 850 Galaxy devices embedded with Interpreter were provided to a select group of volunteers to support Games-time assistance across the event footprint, helping conversations stay smooth, welcoming and human-centered.

Inside competition venues, Samsung technology also supported operations and fair play. Samsung monitors supported officiating in Short-Track Speed Skating disciplines, contributing to operational clarity and consistency during competition.

Around host cities and venues, 64 Galaxy Charging Stations helped spectators stay powered during long event days, ensuring meaningful moments could be captured and shared in real time, without interruption.

Samsung House: A Central Hub for Openness

At the heart of Milan, inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni, Samsung House became a central gathering space for athletes, media and partners throughout both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

It hosted National Olympic Committee events, live competition viewings, athlete visits, media engagements and stakeholder meetings – creating space for reflection and shared celebration beyond competition.

Meanwhile, the Victory Profile portrait series was captured on Galaxy S25 Ultra — featuring athletes throughout Milano Cortina 2026 — and visitors were invited to step into the experience themselves, using the same device to capture their own moment.

The guest list featured more than 130 attendees, including a world-renowned freestyle skier Alex Hall, Italy’s snowboarding sensation Ian Matteoli, a Swiss snowboarder and content creator Nicolas Huber and an Italian lifestyle influencer Ludovica Frasca.

Inspired by the Korean expression “Hwaiting” — a phrase used to cheer someone on and wish them strength — the event created a space where sport, culture and Samsung Galaxy technology came together in support of the Olympic movement.

As part of Samsung’s global “Open always wins” campaign ^[1] the takeover transforms streets, squares and transit hubs into a living canvas — placing the energy and anticipation of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games directly into the rhythm of city life.

Running across ten key locations including Duomo di Milano, Pirelli 39, San Babila and Corso Como, the out-of-home advertising brings the excitement of winter sports beyond competition venues and into the heart of the host city. The advertising campaign runs from February 1 to February 28, with select locations including San Babila – Durini until March 15 and Duomo di Milano until March 31.

“I can see how helpful the translation feature would be,” said Josefine Christoffersen, a visitor from Sweden who speaks Swedish and English. Since arriving on Saturday, she has enjoyed meeting people from all over the world at her first visit to the Olympic Games.

Siqi Chen, a student from China, has been living in France for five years. She visited Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 to check out the latest Galaxy AI innovations.

“Since moving to France, I’ve been travelling all around Europe and visiting lots of other countries,” said Chen who speaks Chinese, English and French. “Interpreter is very helpful and convenient in these moments — when I visit Spain, for example, I can speak Spanish using Galaxy AI!”

Kenny Goma, a Samsung promoter at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125, has been engaging with fans and visitors from around the world. Originally from Martinique, he has been living in Paris for 12 years and working at the pop-up experience since it opened in early May.

“People have been impressed when I show them the cover screen,” said Goma. “Even if it’s hard for them to hear, they can read the translation on the screen which is so helpful. They don’t even have to be connected to the network. They immediately recognise the impact, and it’s one of the most popular features here at the pop-up experience.”

The benefits of Galaxy AI are making a difference for the thousands of volunteers who are helping ensure the Paris 2024 Olympics is a smooth and fun experience for all. Emmanuel Mantilla Jr. from the Philippines has been in Paris since July 25 to volunteer at the Olympic Games for the first time.

“My first few days here were a little overwhelming because even though I speak several languages, I don’t speak French,” said Mantilla Jr. who has been stationed at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. “People thought maybe I couldn’t help them.”

London, UK – 30 May 2024 – The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are set to be bigger than ever this year, particularly amongst young adults, with a whopping 54% planning to watch Paris 2024.

Adding new activities to this year’s games has inspired more than a third (39%) to be more adventurous with sports. In particular, breaking – or breakdancing – has caught the eye of a fifth of Brits who say this sport is on their TV agenda this summer, alongside surfing, sport climbing and skateboarding.

Whilst there is excitement to watch athletes on screen, 47% feel the UK lacks opportunities for them to try sports themselves.

1. It’s all in the footwork – One of the most important categories in Breaking is footwork! Footwork is based around steps or patterns that are usually performed on all fours. Breaking starts with mastering the “0 position” – a low squat with your heels flat on the floor. And here’s the secret weapon – ditch the flat hands! As announced in January, Samsung’s ‘Open always wins’ message articulates the brand’s belief that openness enables new perspectives and infinite possibilities and will serve as the heart of its Paris 2024 programming. The new campaign, which debuted today, brings ‘Open always wins’ to life through the stories of Team Samsung Galaxy skateboarder Aurélien Giraud (France), Para sprinter Johannes Floors (Germany) and breakdancer Sarah Bee (France), and demonstrates how being open enables you to do extraordinary things.

Samsung also unveiled a brand new showcase, Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125, which will take Olympic and Paralympic Games fans on an epic journey to Paris 2024 through iconic experiences. They will get to relive the biggest highlights of Games past with Galaxy, and explore Samsung’s latest innovations, and create lifelong memories with Galaxy AI.

In creating this showcase, Samsung collaborated with the visionary Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, whose groundbreaking work mirrors the remarkable spirit of Olympic and Paralympic athletes, constantly pushing boundaries and redefining possibilities. Inspired by Parisian Salons from the Age of Enlightenment, the space is designed to celebrate openness to new perspectives and possibilities through reflections and optical illusions that evoke feeling of openness, harmony and connection.

The Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by TM Roh, Team Samsung Galaxy ambassadors including French surfer Joanne Defay, UK breakdancer Karam Singh, and French Para-swimmer Ugo Didier; Anne-Sophie Voumard, Television and Marketing Services Managing Director for the IOC, Pierre Rabadan, Deputy Mayor in charge of Sport, Olympic and Paralympic Games for the City of Paris and Étienne Thobois, Director General of the Paris Organising Committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung, located at 125 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, will open its doors to the public on May 3 and run until October 31, from 10:00am-20:00pm Monday-Saturday and 11:00am-20:00pm on Sundays. It will host a series of special events over the course of the summer and will be open to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

In addition to the showcase located at Champs-Élysées, Samsung will open up additional Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung spaces around the city of lights and its surroundings, including the Olympic Park, the Olympic & Paralympic Village, and the Main Press Centre, as well as Samsung Galaxy Charging Stations at key Olympic and Paralympic Games venues, where visitors will get to experience the latest Galaxy innovations.
