The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 have officially come to a close, marking a new chapter in Samsung’s nearly three-decade partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

Across mountains, cities and stadiums – from San Siro to the slopes of Livigno, from the Olympic Village to the heart of Milan – Samsung’s mobile innovation helped connect athletes, fans and communities in every moment.

Guided by the message “Open always wins,” Samsung brought new perspectives to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, opening up podium celebrations, broadcast storytelling, athlete connection and everyday interactions in ways that felt more personal, more immersive and more human than ever before.

Key Milano Cortina 2026 numbers:

Victory Selfie: The Victory Selfie was incorporated into the official medal ceremony across all events at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026

Team Samsung Galaxy: 73 athletes across 18 countries shared their Openness stories throughout Milano Cortina 2026

Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition distributed: To nearly 3,800 Olympic and Paralympic athletes

Opening Ceremony broadcast integration: 26 Galaxy S25 Ultra devices embedded with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS)

Interpreter-enabled Games-time support: 850+ Galaxy devices embedded with Interpreter provided across the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games footprint

Galaxy Charging Station: 64 stations helped spectators stay powered throughout the Games

The Samsung Newsroom revisits the defining milestones that shaped Milano Cortina 2026.

Winning Together: Victory Selfie Becomes Iconic Podium Culture

On the Olympic podium, the instinct to share a once-in-a-lifetime achievement comes naturally. Victory Selfie captures that instinct —as a real, athlete-shaped moment of connection, self-expression and shared celebration.

▲ Gold medalists of Team United States, silver medalists of Team Japan and bronze medalists of Team Italy pose for a Victory Selfie after the figure skating team event.

At Milano Cortina 2026, Victory Selfie continued to grow into an iconic podium culture, reflecting how athletes choose to remember and share the emotion of the moment — whether standing alone, side by side, or as a team. Powered by the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition[1], medalists captured their victories during the medal ceremony, turning medal moments into personal, shareable memories in their own voice.

Across the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Victory Selfie became an official part of the medal ceremony across all events — reinforcing the podium as more than a ceremonial stage, but a cultural moment of unity, gratitude and celebration.

In a broader sense, Victory Selfie also reflected the spirit of Openness — showing that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are not only about competition, but about sportsmanship, connection and the moments that bring people together beyond results.

That same spirit continued beyond the podium, as Team Samsung Galaxy shared “Open always wins” stories throughout the season, with 68 members across 17 countries bringing fans closer to the athletes and moments behind the Games.

Nearly 3,800 Athletes Connected With the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition

For Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung provided the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition to nearly 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians. Designed as an intelligent, pocket-sized companion, the Olympic Edition supported athletes from Olympic Village life to medal ceremonies.

▲ U.S. figure skaters, including Team Samsung Galaxy star and Milano Cortina 2026 gold medallist Alysa Liu, show off their Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition at the Samsung Open Station in the Olympic Village.

With Galaxy AI at the core, the Olympic Edition helped athletes communicate, create and share more seamlessly throughout their Games-time journey. Key capabilities included:

Interpreter[2], powered by Galaxy AI — enabling real-time translation processed directly on device, helping conversations stay natural

Dual Recording[3], allowing athletes to capture both sides of a moment at once — their reactions and the world around them — for richer, more immersive storytelling

Photo Assist[4], supporting fast, high-quality edits that helped athletes be creative and share memorable images with ease

Now Brief[5], delivering personalised daily updates such as reminders and calendar events to support a smoother routine amid an intense schedule

Games-time athlete services and connectivity support, including access to Athlete365, the Galaxy Athlete Card helping athletes stay informed and connected throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games

The device’s distinctive design — combining Samsung’s signature blue with a custom gold frame — symbolised both unity and excellence, reflecting the spirit of Milano Cortina 2026.

Dynamic Perspectives: Galaxy Devices Integrated Into the Opening Ceremony Broadcast

Milano Cortina 2026 also expanded how fans experienced Games-time storytelling. In collaboration with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Samsung helped introduce new, immersive perspectives into the Opening Ceremony broadcast environment.

For the first time at an Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony, 26 Galaxy S25 Ultra devices were embedded across the live broadcast setting. Positioned across athlete entrance tunnels, stadium stands and dynamic camera rig placements, Galaxy devices captured immersive views wirelessly and in real time — complementing traditional broadcast infrastructure and helping viewers worldwide feel closer to the emotion of the moment.

▲ The Galaxy S25 Ultra helped film the live broadcast of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 at San Siro Olympic Stadium (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics)

From the Parade of Nations to behind-the-scenes celebrations, athletes also used their Galaxy devices to capture and share personal Opening Ceremony memories — extending the experience beyond the stadium into the hands of the people who lived it.

Beyond the Spotlight: Connecting Everyday Moments Across the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Across Olympic Villages and venues, Samsung equipped select Games-time support teams with Galaxy devices featuring Interpreter, powered by Galaxy AI[6] — enabling real-time translation processed directly on device, supporting day-to-day interactions without relying on network connectivity across geographically distributed mountain locations.

▲ Team Samsung Galaxy figure skater Daniel Grassl of Italy uses Galaxy AI-powered Interpreter at the Milano Cortina 2025 Olympic Village (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics).

In total, more than 850 Galaxy devices embedded with Interpreter were provided to a select group of volunteers to support Games-time assistance across the event footprint, helping conversations stay smooth, welcoming and human-centered.

Inside competition venues, Samsung technology also supported operations and fair play. Samsung monitors supported officiating in Short-Track Speed Skating disciplines, contributing to operational clarity and consistency during competition.

Around host cities and venues, 64 Galaxy Charging Stations helped spectators stay powered during long event days, ensuring meaningful moments could be captured and shared in real time, without interruption.

Samsung House: A Central Hub for Openness

At the heart of Milan, inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni, Samsung House became a central gathering space for athletes, media and partners throughout both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

▲ A view of Samsung House, inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni, in Milan, Italy (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics)

It hosted National Olympic Committee events, live competition viewings, athlete visits, media engagements and stakeholder meetings – creating space for reflection and shared celebration beyond competition.

The venue also showcased Samsung’s Olympic legacy through the Olympic Edition Gallery, featuring Olympic Editions from across the years and bridging nearly four decades of innovation with the present moment of Milano Cortina 2026.

▲ Norwegian speed skater and 5000m gold medallist Sander Eitrem visits Samsung House and takes a Victory profile photo with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics)

Meanwhile, the Victory Profile portrait series was captured on Galaxy S25 Ultra — featuring athletes throughout Milano Cortina 2026 — and visitors were invited to step into the experience themselves, using the same device to capture their own moment.

Opening Up the Future: From Milano Cortina 2026 to LA28

From Olympic Editions distributed to thousands of athletes, to broadcast integration, AI-powered communication tools and Games-time operational support, Samsung’s role at Milano Cortina 2026 reflected the evolving way the world experiences the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As Milano Cortina 2026 came to a close, attention began to shift toward what comes next. Building on the spirit of “Open always wins,” Samsung will continue to open up the Olympic and Paralympic experience with new perspectives, new technologies and new generations, ensuring that connection remains at the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Games through LA28.

Team USA silver medalist and Team Samsung Galaxy athlete Alex Hall captures the moment with his Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition at the Hwaiting Night event.

French freestyle skier Tess Ledeux shares her inspiring journey with fans and fellow Team Samsung Galaxy athletes at Samsung House during the Hwaiting Night event.

The program also featured TeamGalaxy content captured throughout the athletes’ Olympic Games experience, before wrapping up with attendees watching live games on the big screen to cheer for their home-country teams.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition[1], exclusively designed for all athletes competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

Provided to almost 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians from approximately 90 countries, the special edition device will accompany athletes throughout their Games-time experience — supporting life in the Olympic Village while enabling them to capture and share meaningful moments from competition to celebration.

The Olympic Edition will be incorporated into official podium moments via the Victory Selfie, which is making its Winter Olympics debut at Milano Cortina 2026. For the first time, it will expand to team sport competitions at Olympic Games so that all participating athletes can document their moment of victory through their own lens.

In addition, athletes[2] from select National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will be able to share their personal passions and spirit through the Victory Profile, a new photo series captured with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

“Athletes are at the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and for nearly 30 years Samsung has supported them as a Worldwide Partner through meaningful mobile innovation,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP and Head of Mobile Marketing Center, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Since Sochi 2014, we’ve supported athletes with Olympic Editions and we’re honored to continue this commitment at Milano Cortina 2026. With Olympic Edition, athletes will be able to connect with fans and families at every unforgettable moment in their own way.”

A Special Olympic Edition To Celebrate the Olympic Winter Games

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is an intelligent pocket-sized companion built for seamless interaction and everyday reliability. It integrates Galaxy AI with a new edge-to-edge FlexWindow, providing an effortless mobile AI experience.

This intuitive, one-handed usability makes the Galaxy Z Flip7 a practical support for athletes throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Some key features include:

The dual rear camera system, including 50MP Wide[3] and 12MP Ultra-Wide lens, delivering flagship-level.

Now Brief[4], which provides personalised daily updates such as reminders, calendar events and fitness summaries. It can also access health and wellness data from certain applications.

Photo Assist[5], which brings studio-quality enhancements to images by moving, erasing or enlarging objects, adjusting angles, and filling in backgrounds with AI-powered capability.

On-device Interpreter[6] lowers the language barrier by providing real-time translation regardless of network connection, allowing seamless communication — even in mountainous areas.

▲ Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition Package.

Adding to these features, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition introduces an iconic design that commemorates athletes’ participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as practical services to help enhance their experience in the Olympic Village and throughout competition.

The signature blue colour covering the back glass of the device aligns with the unique style of Milano Cortina 2026, and represents the combination of Samsung’s long-standing identity and the cultural resonance of Italian azure. The colour also reflects the spirit of unity and sportsmanship embodied by the Olympic Games. The custom gold metal frame symbolises athletes’ pursuit of excellence and podium moments, as well as the brand’s aspiration for the best. The Olympic Edition device also comes with a clear magnet case with a blue circular magnet, surrounded by gold laurel leaves added as a motif of victory.

▲ Special Wallpapers and On/Off Animation for Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition.

Each device also includes special Olympic Winter Games–themed wallpaper created specifically for Milano Cortina 2026. The colourful curves represent winter sports, inspired by marks generated from the interaction between skate blades and ice surfaces. These design elements celebrate the Olympic spirit and each athlete’s passion.

Athletes can make moments with fans, family and teammates more memorable with Dual Recording, a feature that allows them to capture both what they see and their own reactions in a single shot by using the rear and front cameras at the same time.

Tailored exclusively for the Olympic Edition, athletes can access Dual Recording mode simply by swiping the shooting mode within the Camera app. Athletes can also open up new and creative angles that bring the action closer using the split view by zooming in[7] on the rear-camera view, and can preview their shots in real-time directly on FlexWindow.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition comes with a pre-loaded curated suite of essential apps and services to support athletes throughout Milano Cortina 2026:

Marking the Moment of Victory, Together

First introduced at Paris 2024, the Victory Selfie — powered by the Olympic Edition — allowed athletes to capture their moments of victory directly from the podium and share them from their own perspective, making moments more connected.

At Milano Cortina 2026, the Victory Selfie will make its Winter Olympics debut — and introduce a new, expanded format. For the first time, it will extend beyond individual and pair events to include wider team celebrations for Olympic Games, reflecting the collaborative nature of winter sports. Athletes can now capture and share their achievements together with teammates and instantly share them with their loved ones and fans around the world, so they can also join that life-changing moment.

Capturing the First Spark of Excitement With the Victory Profile

▲ (From left) Alex Hall, Flora Tabanelli, Gilli Kim

Athletes’ journeys extend far beyond the competition, encompassing preparation, anticipation and the emotions surrounding the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. To reflect this broader journey and celebrate the athlete experience, Samsung introduces the Victory Profile, a new athlete storytelling initiative developed with nine NOCs. The Victory Profile leverages curated portraits captured on the Galaxy S25 Ultra to vividly showcase each athlete’s unique passion and individuality.

The Victory Profile adds a new perspective to the Winter Olympics experience by highlighting moments beyond the podium and providing athletes with a personal keepsake that reflects their journey, as well as their unique personalities. The initial project will start with approximately 490 athletes from France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, the U.K. and the U.S.

Helping Shape the Future Games – Times Experience

Samsung will continue to use its mobile innovation to open up the Olympic and Paralympic Games to fans around the world, making every moment feel more connected. Through its devices and athlete-centered experiences, Samsung is creating new ways for athletes to share their journeys — from preparation to the podium — while bringing fans closer to the moments and people that define the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will be distributed at Olympic Villages across six cities, starting on January 30th. The Samsung Open Station will also offer on-site professional customer service to help athletes activate devices, transfer data and receive general technical support.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today unveiled a new roster of Team Samsung Galaxy athletes for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The new team brings together 68 athletes across 17 countries, representing both Olympic and Paralympic sports. Each member of Team Samsung Galaxy was selected for their personal journey — one that embodies openness both on and off the field of play.

Bringing “Open always wins” to the Road to Milano Cortina 2026

The athletes will share their journeys on the road to the Games and help deliver Samsung’s central message for Milano Cortina 2026, “Open always wins.” First introduced at Paris 2024, the theme returns to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as a reflection of Samsung’s belief that with an open mind, anything is possible. Team Samsung Galaxy will deliver this message to fans around the world by sharing personal stories that reflect on how openness guides their lives and careers.

“Athletes and fans are at the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Samsung is proud to help bring them closer together and make moments more connected—from how athletes share their journeys to how fans experience the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Sophia Kim, VP and Head of Experience Marketing Group, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Together with Team Samsung Galaxy, we will open up new perspectives and infinite possibilities throughout the Games, that is our message ‘Open always wins’ to the fans and communities.”

Athletes Who Bring Openness to Life

With a strong presence across nine key disciplines—including snowboarding, skating, skiing, bobsleigh and cross-country skiing—sports that embody creativity, expression and performance under pressure, the Team Samsung Galaxy roster reflects the diversity of winter sports.

For Milano Cortina 2026, Team Samsung Galaxy includes Olympic freestyle skiing champion Alex Hall (USA), freestyle skier siblings Miro and Flora Tabanelli (ITA), innovative performer of world-first snowboarding tricks Ian Matteoli (ITA), multiple-time short track speed skating World Champion and Olympic medalist Minjeong Choi (KOR), freestyle skiing World Champion Zoe Atkin (GB), and two-time snowboarding Olympic Gold medalist Anna Gasser (AUT). In alpine skiing, Arthur Bauchet (FRA) holds multiple Paralympic and World Championship titles, while former national champion Adam Žampa (SVK) showcases the field’s most formidable talent. Along with figure skating elites, this year’s team also boasts World Champion Alysa Liu (USA) and two-time World Champion Ilia Malinin (USA).

Across sports and borders, each Team Samsung Galaxy athlete brings the spirit of openness to life in their own personal way. Shaped by their creativity, resilience and a willingness to explore what’s possible, their journeys extend beyond competition to inspire fans around the world—showing how an open mindset can influence not only performance, but everyday life, on and off the road to Milano Cortina 2026.

<Txema Mazet-Brown>

Born on Réunion Island, raised between the Alps and New Zealand, Txema Mazet-Brown’s been chasing snow since before he could walk. He’s a two-time FIS European Cup Big Air champ and 2024 Junior World Champion. Representing Great Britain, Txema mixes Euro precision with Kiwi flow. Off the comp scene, he’s all about filming and traveling.

“Snowboarding for me is about progression and riding with my friends,” said Txema Mazet-Brown. “It’s a way of life that thrives on openness – to new ideas, unexpected challenges, and continuous improvement.

“We push each other, try new things and spend as much time on snow as possible. That’s how I’ve always learned and how I want to keep moving forward. With Milano Cortina 2026 coming up, I’m focused on riding and progressing with that same openness and doing what I love. I’m stoked to work with Samsung and to share some of that openness with others along the way.”

<Zoe Atkin>

Balancing Stanford studies with halfpipe podiums, World Champion, Zoe Atkin is rewriting what it means to be a student athlete. With precision and style, she’s become one of the most talked about names in freestyle skiing.

“I’m really proud to be joining Team Samsung Galaxy. As an athlete, I’m always pushing to evolve not just in competition, but in how I prepare and take care of myself. Having Samsung’s support as I compete on the global stage is incredibly motivating,” says Zoe.

Continuing the Journey to Milano Cortina 2026

With Team Samsung Galaxy, Samsung reaffirms its long-standing commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

LONDON, U.K. – October 13, 2025 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Street League Skateboarding (SLS) have announced the expansion of their existing partnership into a global alliance. United by shared values of creativity, innovation and openness — as well as a deep respect for the skateboarding community — the renewed partnership marks a significant milestone for both brands. A reflection of Samsung’s broader efforts to use technology and innovation to positively impact people’s lives, the news was shared ahead of the first day of competition at SLS Paris, which is one of the most anticipated stops on the global skateboarding tour.

The initial partnership, launched early last year as part of Samsung’s “Open Always Wins” campaign, proudly celebrated the unique culture and global influence of skateboarding. With activations across key events and athlete-led storytelling, the program fostered a powerful connection between Samsung, SLS and the broader skateboarding community.

Now, Samsung and SLS are taking that momentum to the next level with a long-term, multi-year global partnership that spans events across continents. As part of the agreement, SLS will provide Samsung with year-round cultural insight and creative collaboration to inform skate-specific product features and campaigns.

“From the start, our partnership with Street League Skateboarding has been rooted in authenticity, innovation, and a shared passion for openness,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP & Head of Marketing of the Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are looking forward to growing this relationship and reinforcing Samsung’s long-term commitment to elevating skate culture — and to showcasing how our technology can make a positive impact through creativity, connection and community.”

Samsung also announced that two-time Olympic medalists Jagger Eaton and Rayssa Leal are joining Team Samsung Galaxy as athlete ambassadors. Eaton, a 2021 SLS Super Crown World Champion, is one of the sport’s most dominant and versatile competitors. Leal, a three-time SLS Super Crown World Champion and one of the most decorated skaters in SLS history, continues to inspire fans around the world with her bold, expressive style. Their return underscores Samsung’s long-term investment in skateboarding culture and community.

“Every session is different – new spots, new tricks, new energy,” said Eaton. “To keep progressing, you have to stay open to it all. That’s why this partnership with Samsung is so special. They share that same belief that openness drives creativity, connection, and growth in skateboarding and beyond.”

“Skateboarding is about openness – freedom to express yourself, to connect with people everywhere, and to keep pushing forward,” said Leal. “That’s why I’m excited to team up with Samsung, a brand that believes in openness as much as I do. Together, we can inspire the next generation of skaters to create, connect, and share their style with the world.”

“Skateboarding is a culture that thrives on creativity and connection,” said Frank Lamicella, Chief Executive Officer of Street League Skateboarding. “Samsung’s support and belief in our vision has been instrumental in helping us elevate the experience for skaters and fans alike. This expanded partnership is a testament to the impact we’ve already made together, and we are excited for what’s still to come.”

Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, will harness the power of Galaxy technology to continue supporting connected Games-time experiences for athletes and fans at Paralympic Games Paris 2024, helping them create lifelong memories of the Games.

Samsung’s central message for Paris 2024 is “Open always wins,” which articulates the belief that with an open mind, every new experience becomes a meaningful achievement — a sentiment embodied by the athletes competing at the Paralympic Games. Samsung will celebrate the open-mindedness and resilience demonstrated by Paralympians, harnessing its latest mobile technology to open up new experiences and possibilities for athletes, fans, and the rest of the world, during the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

“Samsung has been a Paralympic Games partner for almost two decades, and as committed supporters of the Paralympic Movement, we’re proud to help deliver the best possible Games-time experience for athletes, fans, spectators and volunteers at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 with our latest mobile technology,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP & Head of Marketing of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “It is an honour to bring fans across the world closer to their favourite Paralympians, their stories and uncompromising spirit, as they forge new paths and inspire greatness.”

Continued Support of the Paralympic Movement

Samsung’s support of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 follows an 18-year partnership which began at the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. During this time, Samsung has used its mobile technology to engage and inspire fans and supporters while raising awareness of the Paralympic Movement. The “Dialogue in the Dark” demonstration at Sochi 2014 saw visitors at the Galaxy Studio Olympic Park experience a day in the life of a visually impaired person to help visitors understand the challenges they can experience from their perspective. Similarly, at PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, visitors at the Samsung experience space were able to try the Relúmĭno feature in conjunction with Samsung Gear VR, which helped those with low vision see the world more clearly. Samsung will continue to promote sporting excellence and shared values embodied by Paralympic athletes through its ongoing support of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Championing Team Samsung Galaxy Trailblazers

For the Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Samsung has been supporting its roster of Team Samsung Galaxy athletes. The team of trailblazers, who were selected due to their impact on and off the field of play, includes French blind footballer and Olympic Torchbearer Yvan Wouandji and Paralympians Johannes Floors (para athletics, Germany), Madison De Rozario (para athletics, Australia), Ugo Didier (para swimming, France), Hee-jin Kim (goalball, Korea), Kadeena Cox (para cycling, Great Britain) and Desirée Vila (para athletics, Spain). The athletes shared their sentiments regarding Samsung’s support:

Ugo Didier: “The Paralympic Games Paris 2024 are particularly special, taking place in my home country. Beyond the competition, I want to show that with enough dedication, everyone can compete in sporting events and achieve world-class performances regardless of disability, so I’m grateful to be working alongside Samsung to share this message.”

Madison De Rozario: “Technology is playing a significant role in our entire movement of sport. To make a tangible impact on fans and people, you need to be able to connect with them to truly learn who they are and for them to know who you are. It’s an honour to be supported by Samsung as I go into my fifth Paralympic Games to bring people around the world closer to the Paralympic Movement.”

Johannes Floors: “To be a successful Paralympian, determination is vital, but it also requires honest self-reflection, the ability to take criticism, meticulous engineering and open-mindedness to try the new and innovative approaches that ultimately set you up for success. I’m delighted to be working with Samsung, who share these values and reflect them in their own innovation.”

Additionally, Samsung released its film Voices of Galaxy, which spotlights Johannes Floors’ story — his motivation, determination, and passion to make an impact on next generation — in May.

Harnessing the Latest Technology for an Unforgettable Games-Time Experience

To enhance the athlete experience, Samsung is providing nearly 5,000 Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition smartphones to Paralympians competing in the Games. The exclusive edition features a suite of built-in services and apps to help athletes to enjoy Paris and navigate every aspect of their Games-time experience with ease. The Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition supports the latest Galaxy AI features — as well as accessibility features — ensuring all Paralympians have the best experience possible.

Interpreter, which instantly translates live conversations[1], will allow all Paralympians to connect with fellow athletes from around the world. Bixby Vision for Accessibility, which gives audio descriptions of images and user surroundings, and Relúmĭno outline, which enhances the screen’s contrast and brightness or sharpens image outlines to increase visibility, allowing athletes with low vision to seamlessly navigate competition venues and stay connected with fans following their Paris 2024 journey.

Opening Up Fan Experiences To Put the Paralympic Spirit in Motion

The start of the Paralympic Games also marks the next wave of the popular Samsung Olympic Games Pin Collection, taking place at the fully accessible Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences at Champs-Elysees 125 and Square Marigny in Paris. Fans of the Paralympic Games can participate in Galaxy AI experiences to complete their collection of 16 specially-designed pins, including four that represent Paralympic sports — blind football, para athletics, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis — to receive a new Galaxy Z Flip6 and a chance to win a round-trip package for two to attend Milano Cortina 2026. Fans will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive journey through Samsung’s rich heritage around the Olympic and Paralympic Games and try out the latest Galaxy technology for themselves at the sites. In addition, Samsung plans to conduct a series of events and appearances at its OlympicTM Rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experience sites throughout the Games to bring fans face-to-face with their favourite Paralympic athletes.

Fans and visitors can celebrate the Games and get closer to Samsung’s latest technology at the OlympicTM rendezvous @ Samsung sites, open throughout the duration of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024:

The OlympicTM rendezvous @ Samsung | Square Marigny will be re-opened on August 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until September 8.

The OlympicTM rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Élysées 125 is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays until October 31.

“I can see how helpful the translation feature would be,” said Josefine Christoffersen, a visitor from Sweden who speaks Swedish and English. Since arriving on Saturday, she has enjoyed meeting people from all over the world at her first visit to the Olympic Games.

Originally from Martinique, he has been living in Paris for 12 years and working at the pop-up experience since it opened in early May.

“People have been impressed when I show them the cover screen,” said Goma. “Even if it’s hard for them to hear, they can read the translation on the screen which is so helpful. They don’t even have to be connected to the network. They immediately recognise the impact, and it’s one of the most popular features here at the pop-up experience.”

The benefits of Galaxy AI are making a difference for the thousands of volunteers who are helping ensure the Paris 2024 Olympics is a smooth and fun experience for all. Emmanuel Mantilla Jr. from the Philippines has been in Paris since July 25 to volunteer at the Olympic Games for the first time.

“My first few days here were a little overwhelming because even though I speak several languages, I don’t speak French,” said Mantilla Jr. who has been stationed at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. “People thought maybe I couldn’t help them.”

“But Interpreter has been so helpful — not only for communicating with visitors but also with my fellow volunteers. I’ve been using the feature on my Galaxy S24 Ultra with many of the French colleagues in my volunteer group, and we all love it,” he added.

“There are always a lot of tourists in Paris, particularly on the Champs-Elysees,” said Goma. “But there are even more people here for the Olympic Games. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase Galaxy AI’s live translation capabilities, especially for all the visitors who don’t speak French. Now, they can celebrate together — whether at the Olympic Games or in everyday life.”

London, UK – 30 May 2024 – The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are set to be bigger than ever this year, particularly amongst young adults, with a whopping 54% planning to watch Paris 2024.

Adding new activities to this year’s games has inspired more than a third (39%) to be more adventurous with sports. In particular, breaking – or breakdancing – has caught the eye of a fifth of Brits who say this sport is on their TV agenda this summer, alongside surfing, sport climbing and skateboarding.

Whilst there is excitement to watch athletes on screen, 47% feel the UK lacks opportunities for them to try sports themselves.

With this in mind, Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner Samsung, and impressive newcomer to Olympic Games Paris 2024, Karam Singh, are encouraging the nation to try new sports.

Karam comments “Don’t be afraid of being open to new possibilities”, as he shares his top breaking moves and how to embrace them:

It’s all in the footwork – One of the most important categories in Breaking is footwork! Footwork is based around steps or patterns that are usually performed on all fours. Breaking starts with mastering the “0 position” – a low squat with your heels flat on the floor. And here’s the secret weapon – ditch the flat hands! Get comfy holding yourself up with just your fingertips, building strength and balance for footwork patterns such as Six Step, CCs, Hooks and Kick.

Top Rock –Ignite your inner breaker with ‘top rock’, the opening act of breakdancing. Unlike the floorwork, this is your chance to shine standing tall. Staying light on your feet is key, so let loose and let your character show. It’s not about what you do, it’s how you do it! Some killer moves to master are the cross step, Indian step and salsa step.

Power Moves – Ready to push the boundaries? It’s time to try out power moves. These are the wow-factor moves – head spins, backspins, flares, windmills and air flares – the ultimate crowd-pleasers. Conquer them by working on your core strength, ensuring you have solid basic freeze positions, good technique and most importantly being fearless. Fear is not real so just go for it!

To open up breaking and empower young people to get moving, Karam brought local dance communities from across the capital together for an exclusive breaking workshop on the popular St Katharine’s Way[1] near the iconic Tower Bridge, known for being a cultural hub of the capital.

The workshop saw Karam lead a showcase of live breaking demos and how to do them, all captured hands-free with the Flex Mode feature on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5.

“At Samsung, we believe in opening up new experiences and meaningful connections. We’re championing this in our Open Always Wins campaign as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner, and are excited to use this as a platform to raise awareness of new sports such as breakdancing. By working with Karam to host an exciting community event in a thriving London hotspot, we’re empowering young people to be more open to trying new sports and defying limitations.” said Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing, Omnichannel & Head of Ireland – MX Division.

Joining Team Samsung Galaxy’s roster for Paris 2024, Karam is one of 25 athletes who will each embody the spirit of the ‘Open Always Wins’ campaign throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. A movement to articulate Samsung’s belief that with an open mind, every new experience becomes a meaningful achievement that leads to new perspectives.

Whether you’re trying to perfect your footwork or framing your freezes, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip5’s form factor with its show-stopping, hands-free camera ensures breakers never miss a trick.

[1] Under the expert guidance of breakdancing professional Karam Singh, attendees learned the fundamentals of breakdancing moves in a safe and controlled environment. As with any physical activity, participation was at the participant’s own risk.

In creating this showcase, Samsung collaborated with the visionary Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, whose groundbreaking work mirrors the remarkable spirit of Olympic and Paralympic athletes, constantly pushing boundaries and redefining possibilities. Inspired by Parisian Salons from the Age of Enlightenment, the space is designed to celebrate openness to new perspectives and possibilities through reflections and optical illusions that evoke feeling of openness, harmony and connection.

“The entire space is designed to celebrate Samsung’s commitment to openness,” said Jean Nouvel. “The abstract graphic façade captures the reflections of movements and lights that appear and disappear in an instant, while the matte, reflective white mirrors in the lobby invite discovery of latest innovations.”
