In 2025, 119.9 million adults in the United States — or nearly half of all adults in the country — suffered from high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. When not managed properly, high blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke, which are leading causes of death in the United States.6
By giving users the tools to measure and track their blood pressure, Galaxy users can receive greater insight into their health and wellness, enabling them to make more informed decisions and lead a healthy lifestyle. It is not intended to prevent or diagnose high blood pressure.
Blood Pressure monitoring adds to a growing list of health and wellness tools available to Galaxy users, including Samsung’s Sleep Apnea feature, a first of its kind to be authorized by the FDA,7 which detects signs of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea as well as electrocardiogram (ECG) readings8 and irregular heart rhythm notifications,9 which has also been cleared by the FDA.
Samsung’s blood pressure technology calibrates values and blood pressure changes to estimate your blood pressure. To ensure accuracy, users are required to calibrate their Galaxy watch using an upper arm cuff (sold separately) every 28 days. Compatible Galaxy Watches measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure along with your heart rate using the internal heart rate monitoring sensors.
The Galaxy Watch8 series features two standout devices — Galaxy Watch8 Classic and Galaxy Watch8 — which build on Samsung’s continued health and wellness leadership with intuitive tools designed around user needs. Both feature advanced sensor technology and AI-powered experiences10 to help users live a healthier, more connected life.
Galaxy Watch8 Classic and Galaxy Watch8 are available for purchase now on Samsung.com.
Together with a wide range of powerful health tracking and motivational tools on Samsung Health, Galaxy users have access to an end-to-end health and wellness platform that delivers personalized insights and tailored health experiences, empowering them to take control of their wellbeing. Later this year, that will also include the introduction of passive monitoring to show blood pressure trends over time.
