Gregory Lee

President and CEO

Gregory Lee brings experience from various disciplines and cultural perspectives to his role as President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, which includes Samsung Electronics America and Samsung Electronics Canada. Gregory leads Samsung’s consumer and enterprise business strategy and is responsible for establishing new strategic alliances, partner relationships and overseeing development of new technology.

Gregory joined Samsung in 2004 as the Global Chief Marketing Officer and transformed the company’s approach to connecting with consumers. He since rose through the ranks to management positions where he served as President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and President and CEO of Samsung Telecommunications America. Prior to Samsung, Gregory held general management and marketing positions at global companies, such as Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson, in both the U.S. and Asia.

Throughout his career, Lee’s management beliefs have centered on building world-class teams, making the right strategic choices and delivering with great execution. He uses these guiding principles when it comes to the company’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Under his direction, Samsung has expanded programs focused on children’s health and education, making a difference to their lives and livelihood by working with schools, charities and community organizations across the country, especially when it comes to STEM education. He is also personally active in community service programs with employees throughout the year. Gregory is currently on the Corporate Council of the Children’s Health Fund and was previously a board member of the Singapore Economic Development Board.

Tim Baxter

President and Chief Operating Officer

Tim Baxter is the President and COO of Samsung Electronics America. Mr. Baxter is responsible for the continued growth and success of Samsung’s $30 Billion+ consumer and enterprise businesses. Product categories under Mr. Baxter include: home entertainment, home appliances, mobile phones and computing, digital imaging, IT and wearables as well as signage solutions.

Prior to joining Samsung, Mr. Baxter spent 10 years at Sony Corporation of America, where he rose to become Senior Vice President of strategic marketing. He led several product divisions and Sony’s Blu-ray efforts, including the Hollywood studio support negotiations and its cross company launch strategy, advertising, promotions and public relations activities. At different points in his tenure, he was responsible for P&L and marketing for Sony’s TV, home audio/video and telecom businesses. Mr. Baxter also spent 13 years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies leading marketing, product management, and sales for various categories in their residential phone businesses.

Mr. Baxter lives in New Jersey with his wife and their three children. Mr. Baxter graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and is a current Board of Trustee for the University. He holds an honorary degree from Roger Williams University as well as an honorary Doctorate degree from South Carolina State University. Mr. Baxter also serves on the Board of Directors for the Junior Achievement USA.

Young Sohn

President and Chief Strategy Officer, Samsung Electronics, and Chairman of the Board, HARMAN International Industries

Young Sohn is president and chief strategy officer for Samsung Electronics, and Chairman of the Board, Harman International. He leads development and strategy for global innovation and new business creation. He is responsible for investment in new and emerging businesses and technologies worldwide. Young initiated and leads the $8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries, the premier connected technology company for automotive, consumer, and enterprise markets. The deal is Samsung’s largest acquisition to date.

Young is a seasoned investor, technologist and entrepreneur. Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Young served as CEO of Oak Technologies, Agilent Semiconductor, Inphi Corporation and President of Quantum Corporation. Under his leadership as CEO and board member, he took PLX Technologies, Synnex Technologies and Inphi public.

Young holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and MS from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

He serves on the MIT Sloan School NA Board, is a senior advisor to the private equity firm Silver Lake Partners, is a member of the board of directors at Cadence, is a board member of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), and is an advisor for the University of California Innovation Council. He also has served on the Boards of ARM, Synnex Corporation and Cymer, Inc.
