AI is Already Revolutionizing the Mobile Phone Experience — And Most Users Don’t Even Realize It

Mobile AI experiences, like those on Galaxy devices, have quietly become a meaningful part of everyday life, and its next evolution is more personal and conversational

1/12/2026

  • AI is already embedded in everyday mobile phone experiences, with 90% of Americans using AI features — often without realizing it.
  • Samsung has been integrating mobile AI for years, focusing on practical benefits that enhance daily life. Galaxy AI now reaches more than 400 million devices globally, with strong engagement across flagship devices.
  • The next evolution of Samsung Galaxy’s mobile AI is focused on more personal, conversational, and context-aware experiences.

It’s in your social feed, your inbox, and even your playlist. AI technology is everywhere, silently curating and adapting to help meet your needs and simplify your daily tasks.

Some may wonder if they really need an AI-powered phone, but the truth is they’re probably already using AI features regularly. From early camera and battery optimizations and smart replies to more recent photo and audio editing, translation, and multimodal assistance, AI innovation has been enhancing the Galaxy mobile experience for years. And that long-standing focus has shaped how Samsung approaches mobile AI today.

Leading the Mobile AI Revolution

Samsung’s approach to mobile AI is grounded in improving the lives of our users. It’s not enough to simply offer new features; every evolution is carefully designed and implemented to offer tangible benefits.

A study commissioned by Samsung in 2024 found people who frequently used mobile AI reported a higher quality of life in everything from creativity and productivity to physical health, and even social relationships. The results revealed widespread enthusiasm for the technology’s future and offered an early sign of the positive impact it could have on everyday life.

Since then, Samsung has thoughtfully expanded the scope and capabilities of its mobile AI experience across its mobile portfolio — introducing more users to the benefits of AI-powered devices.

The response has been significant. By some measures, Galaxy AI1 is experiencing the fastest adoption rate for any service Samsung has ever introduced. AI integration was a key purchase driver for Galaxy S25 Ultra buyers and feedback indicates the AI experience is influencing those considering Samsung Galaxy for their next mobile phone.

Today, Galaxy AI is available on more than 400 million devices worldwide and AI features on Samsung Galaxy phones including S and Z series have become a key part of the Galaxy experience — around 80% of users have tried the features, and more than two-thirds use them regularly.

AI Perception vs AI Use

Even with this growth, many remain unaware of the benefits they’re already enjoying from an AI-powered mobile experience.

A Samsung survey of 2,000 adults conducted by Talker Research exploring how AI is used every day discovered 90% of Americans use AI on their phone — but only 38% realize they do. Furthermore, the survey also found that half of respondents (51%) don’t think they use AI on their phone, yet 84% reported using common AI tools daily when prompted with a list of features.

The survey data offered insight into how consumers use AI features today and where they see the greatest potential for this technology to enhance their lives in the future — uncovering that many were unaware of its presence in their everyday lives, including daily tasks like weather alerts (42%), call screening (35%), autocorrect (34%), voice assistants (26%), and auto brightness (25%). It also found one in five smartphone users regularly use AI-powered camera features such as Night Mode (19%) and auto-generated slideshows (20%) to capture and view their photos.

U.S. consumers are most interested in AI’s ability to help them save time and simplify tasks, improve their skills, and help them learn new things. They also want an experience that is personalized, understands their preferences and goals, and can give helpful suggestions by comprehending context — all experiences Galaxy users will find very familiar.

What’s Next

As Samsung continues to innovate and build the AI phone experience of the future, we are committed to listening and learning from users, while integrating AI technologies that make life better for every kind of user.
