Calling all Teachers! Here’s how to enter your class in the 9th annual Samsung Solve For Tomorrow Contest and take advantage of a special partnership we have going on this year with DonorsChoose.org.

You have until Tuesday, November 13th to submit a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) project idea to solve a community challenge with your 6th – 12th grade students and be entered to win a share of $2 million in technology and supplies for your school.

Step 1: Go to Samsung.com/Solve

Step 2: Click Apply on the homepage.

Step 3: Click Register to create your account.

Step 4: Enter your details, things like your name and school, and create a password. Click Submit.

Step 5: Check your email. There you will receive an email that will ask you to verify your information. All you have to do is click on the link in the email.

Step 6: You will now find yourself back on the same registration page. Log In with your email and password, and remember, you can log back in at any time.

Step 7: Finalize your application in three parts: Also, tell us about one particular challenge your community faces and what your students can do to help solve the challenge using STEM.

  • Fill out contact information. (This is how we will notify you about application status, latest contest updates, deadlines and general announcements).
  • Provide information on your school. (This is how we verify that your school is eligible and how we know where to send your share of $2 million in prizes if you win!).
  • Detail specifics of your STEM solution: Tell us the community problem your students will work on (at this point you don’t need a finished product or solution just choose something you can begin today). You and your students can brainstorm the full idea during the next phase of the contest.

Tip: Be specific with what your students’ solution can be, not how they will create their solution. Your project is not expected to be fully executed at this point.

Don’t forget you can SAVE your application along the way and come back to it before applications are due.

Step 8: Submit. Make sure you click “submit” before midnight on November 13, 2018 or your application won’t be eligible for prizes.

Congratulations! You’ve applied for this year’s 2018 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition. But wait. There’s an optional bonus step you can do to kick start your project right away.

Optional Step 9: Fund Your Project on Donorschoose.org

Crowdsource funds for your STEM project on DonorsChoose.org/teachers and Samsung will match up to 50% of funds raised through the end of the year. The first 3,500 applicants to Solve for Tomorrow will receive a special campaign code when they submit their application. Use this code when posting your proposed project on DonorsChoose.org to make it eligible for the matched donation from Samsung. Good luck!
