In a fireside chat at the Techonomy Conference in New York City, Tim Baxter, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, spoke about building & maintaining consumer trust in the age of transparency with Marta Tellado, president and CEO of Consumer Reports.

Baxter discussed how major brands forge and maintain relationships with consumers in the 21st century, how to adapt to shifting consumer behavior, and how Samsung prioritizes integrating consumer feedback into the product-design process.

“We’re on the cusp of really big change. Most of us, we want to connect our devices more and more and the day of buying a television just to watch television, or a phone to just talk or a refrigerator to store foods, is changing. Consumers want these things to be more connected,” said Baxter. “They want to be connected to their car, to their work, to their home and so we have to think about these not as transactions or lifecycle managing product, but as a consumer experience journey.”
