NEW YORK – November 7, 2017 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc., America’s fastest growing appliance brand, today announced the launch of the new Chef Collection line of premium built-in appliances. Merging elegant design and industry-leading technology, Chef Collection brings Samsung’s most innovative and popular home appliance features to the premium built-in category.

Samsung Chef Collection Premium Built-In Home Appliances

According to recent research by Houzz, the leading platform for home remodeling and design, the top reason homeowners renovate their kitchens center around personalizing the space, whether it’s a recent home purchase, updating an older kitchen, or finally having the financial means to upgrade. Chef Collection reflects the aspirations of a new generation of state-of-the-art homeowners who look to the kitchen not just as a room to cook in, but as a sophisticated reflection of who they are. The line includes exclusive chef-inspired features in a premium full suite of wall ovens, cooktops, pro range, dishwasher, and refrigerators, including the industry’s first fully integrated 42” Built-In 4-Door Flex model.

“The kitchen is the room we connect and spend time with family and friends. It’s where we relax, celebrate, nourish and create,” said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America. “With its beautiful design and surprising technology, Chef Collection enable and inspires these important moments in our lives.”

To explore consumer trends and dynamics in the kitchen, Samsung invited Houzz to share recent insights and research at Samsung 837 in New York City today to celebrate the launch of the Chef Collection line. Among Houzz’s key findings:

  • Homeowners are spending more than ever on home renovations, particularly first-time homeowners and Millennials (ages 25-34). First timers who bought their home in 2016 spent $33,800 on average, 22 percent more than the year prior.
  • Over a quarter of homeowners (28 percent) consider integration of smart technology very important to their renovation. This is especially true for first-time homebuyers, 35 percent of whom cite smart technology as very important to their home renovation decisions.
  • Kitchens are opening up more, making design more important than ever. More than half (51 percent) of kitchen renovators on Houzz say they are connecting it more seamlessly to an adjoining room, while 20 percent are opening it to the outdoors.

Samsung Chef Collection – Elegance, Style and Technology in the Kitchen

The Samsung Chef Collection is the perfect combination of design and technology with the performance features that consumers expect. From flush mounted wall ovens, to beveled edges on the cooktops and LED illuminated knobs that can easily be seen from across the room – Chef Collection’s modern, simple and sleek look brings a new level of elegance and style to the kitchen. And this is especially important given the trend of larger and more open kitchens as the hub of the home. All models are available in stainless or matte black stainless steel that complements the design of modern kitchens today. The refrigerator and dishwasher are also panel-ready so they can be customized to the specific aesthetic tastes of the homeowner as design preferences change over time.

Chef Collection also packs technological innovations that elevate the kitchen experience. All appliances in the line are Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled for connected control whether at home or afar. The Samsung Chef Collection 4-Door Flex™ Built-in Refrigerator features three View Inside Cameras to enable the user to see what’s inside. Now, homeowners can take stock from the farmer’s market of how much milk is left or see if they have any lemons in the fridge via an app on their smart phone. The 4-Door Flex™ also includes Flex Zone™, a compartment which can easily convert from fridge to freezer with four temperature settings. Flex Zone™ can be set to freezer mode, enabling kids at a birthday party to easily access ice cream since it is positioned at kid-level height, versus other refrigerators in which the freezer is located at the top. When Flex Zone™ is in fridge mode, wine can be chilled for a weekend dinner party. It’s the perfect feature for a home entertaining multi-tasker.

Chef Collection cooktops and range hoods feature bespoke cooking features that inspire the inner chef, whether it’s a 5-course, 5-ingredient, or 5-minute meal that’s being planned. Virtual Flame technology on the induction cooktop illuminates when it is turned on, giving the visual look and feel of real flame. Bluetooth enabled hoods automatically connect to the Chef Collection pro range and cooktop models, turning on in conjunction with the surface so home cooks don’t even need to think about it. In addition, Chef Collection offers Samsung’s exclusive Flex Duo™ Oven with smart divider.  This feature can convert the oven compartment into two separate independent convection ovens that cook multiple dishes at different temperatures at the same time. These simple enhancements have big pay offs for modern homeowners today.

An Easier Installation Process

Samsung has been championing growth and expanding the built-in category, from the launch of its first built-in line, to the acquisition of Dacor, which both happened last year. Knowing that installation time and repair work are major pain points for installers, Samsung set out to make the process easier than ever with Samsung Chef Collection. Less cumbersome packaging solutions and time-saving features like pre-drilled holes and easy leveling make installation faster. Installers can run Wi-Fi-enabled, remote diagnostic checks to ensure the appliance is functioning properly and help reduce repeat visits for repairs.

The complete line of Samsung Chef Collection built-in appliances are now available at retailers nationwide.
