11/16/2020

Now available on the AT&T network and FirstNet®, the Galaxy XCover Pro includes programmable buttons for push-to-talk solutions

Samsung’s Tab Active Pro also becomes first Samsung rugged tablet to be FirstNet ReadyTM

Samsung and AT&T today announced that the Galaxy XCover Pro, a field-ready and sleekly designed rugged smartphone, is now available at AT&T online nationwide. Re-imagining the enterprise-ready smartphone, Galaxy XCover Pro is designed and engineered for frontline workers across a variety of industries, as well as first responders.

Through its availability with AT&T, Galaxy XCover Pro is also a FirstNet Ready™ device, a certification it earns along with Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro. FirstNet is built with AT&T in a public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) – an independent agency within the federal government. It’s designed with and for public safety. The Galaxy XCover Pro and Tab Active Pro, now FirstNet Ready™, support access to the dedicated FirstNet network core, FirstNet First Priority® – which includes always-on priority and preemption for first responders – and the Band 14 spectrum.

“Today’s environment brings unique challenges for frontline workers and we want to equip them with the most comprehensive solutions powered by our partner ecosystem and the AT&T nationwide network,” said Taher Behbehani, Head of the Mobile B2B Division, SVP and General Manager, Samsung Electronics America. “Samsung is dedicated to providing frontline workers with secure, reliable technology through continued innovation and partnerships across our rugged portfolio.”

Whether in the hands of first responders or frontline workers, the XCover Pro offers a stylish, slim and light design that can withstand the rigors of day-to-day use with military-grade durability. With an IP68 rating, the device can handle dust, dirt and sand and its MIL-STD 810G certification makes it reliable in high altitude, humidity, and other severe conditions. In addition, with the Galaxy XCover Pro, frontline workers can shift from carrying multiple devices and use a single device across all of their work streams. Additional capabilities built within the device include mobile point of sale (mPOS) readiness, pogo pin connectors, and the ability to connect to Band 48/Citizens Band Radio Service (CBRS).

The Galaxy XCover Pro supports a broad ecosystem of enterprise partner solutions—from scanning and payment processing to team collaboration. It features two programmable buttons that can be set to activate business- or mission-critical applications, including FirstNet Push-to-Talk and AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk solutions in the future.

“FirstNet devices and modules go through extensive review, so first responders can be confident that Samsung’s Galaxy XCover Pro and Tab Active Pro meet our highest standards for reliability, security and performance,” said Robert Boyanovsky, vice president, product marketing, AT&T. “The more tools public safety has access to on their network, the more we can help them achieve their mission.”
