Samsung today announced the launch of “MoMA: Ruth Asawa Collection” on the Samsung Art Store, bringing 25 artworks by the visionary American artist Ruth Asawa (1926–2013) into homes worldwide. The collection is now available on The Frame and select Samsung QLED TVs, presented in stunning 4K resolution.
Forever inspired by the natural world and driven by a lifelong curiosity about material and form, Ruth Asawa remains one of the most singular voices in modern art. In her six-decade-long career, Asawa redefined the possibilities of line, form, and space across a diverse body of work spanning abstract wire sculptures, drawings, prints, paper reliefs, bronze and ceramic casts, and public art.
Celebrating a Legacy
Ruth Asawa’s multifaceted practice was rooted in exploring the possibilities of her materials of choice–wire, paper, and ink. Her works challenge long-held distinctions between seeming opposites: abstraction and figuration, positive and negative space, or inside and outside. Asawa combined a commitment to experimentation with a community-oriented belief that art is a part of everyday life, which she upheld through decades of steadfast advocacy for arts education in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
“The subtle complexity and breath-like fluidity of Ruth Asawa’s work make her a uniquely transformative artist in the Samsung Art Store portfolio,” said Daria Greene, Global Curator, Samsung Art Store. “We’re honored to bring these quietly powerful pieces into living spaces everywhere, allowing more people to experience the balance of presence, precision, and beauty that defines her work.”
