Samsung Charity Gala Backstage: Pitbull’s Advice to his Younger Self
The 17th annual Samsung Charity Gala, held in New York City, celebrated the collective impact of charitable foundations dedicated to empowering youth through education, mentorship, life-saving medical treatment and the opportunity to gain leadership skills.
But before the celebration began, Tim Baxter, President & CEO of Samsung Electronics America, went backstage with world-renowned artist Armando Christian Perez – aka Pitbull – to hear how his SLAM Foundation has impacted its students and find out what his best advice to his 15-year-old younger self would be today.

The evening raised $3 million for charitable organizations like Pitbull’s SLAM Foundation, Jessica Seinfeld’s GOOD+ Foundation, the Ryan Seacrest Foundation and many more.
Through Samsung Gives, the company’s philanthropic platform, Samsung has contributed over $75 million to help more than 2,600 schools, hospitals and foundations throughout the U.S. since 2001.
