Ridgefield Park, NJ – June 28, 2018 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced a new Wi-Fi solution for brick-and-mortar businesses in the U.S. that combines wireless connectivity with analysis to deliver a new level of customer insight and service. Designed for businesses with guest interactions – including theaters, arenas, hotels, outdoor entertainment districts and retailers – Samsung Guest Analytics provides a reliable Wi-Fi platform that enhances customer satisfaction and data analysis opportunities.

The solution helps businesses gain access to key factors – such as foot traffic patterns, dwell time in specific areas and guest behavior in a store – while providing fast Wi-Fi connectivity for visitors. Guests ‘opt-in’ to Wi-Fi service at an establishment, and that business uses the data to understand trends, craft a better journey throughout the establishment, and offer services tailored to the customer.

“The Samsung Guest Analytics solution brings digital practices to physical retail and entertainment establishments, offering businesses a path to understanding customer needs and engaging visitors more effectively,” said Imran Akbar, Vice President & General Manager for Wireless Enterprise at Samsung Electronics America. “Whether it’s a shopper in a store or an attendee at a festival, customer service is still king, and this solution – coupled with our high-performance Wi-Fi – provides an intelligent way to enhance in-person experiences.”

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Implementation

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, a non-profit arts organization, is using Samsung Guest Analytics across its properties including theaters, outdoor entertainment districts and education centers. Providing entertainment for thousands of visitors annually, the organization required a Wi-Fi solution that would provide reliable customer and vendor connectivity across multiple venues, and a strategy for customer engagement.

The Samsung solution includes hundreds of access points in the Trust’s entertainment venues across a 14 block area, and is a gateway for Pittsburgh Cultural Trust to offer additional value to attendees, musicians and vendors.

“Samsung’s Guest Analytics Wi-Fi solution is a great way to serve guests, strengthen existing relationships and discover new customers through more effective digital marketing,” said Dan Hoffer, Chief Information Officer of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “Plus, we see a way to optimize guest experiences. For instance, through connectivity, we give attendees the chance to share their experiences via a Jumbotron screen, while still being respectful of the artists onstage. Now, with Samsung infrastructure in so many locations indoor and outdoor, we see an opportunity to expand our offerings, like using Wi-Fi to deliver surveys and notifications, electronic playbills for theater shows, or close captioning directly to a guest’s phone.”

In addition to offering complimentary Wi-Fi, Samsung Guest Analytics can extend content marketing initiatives – such as coupons and special offers – and create a consistent look for a Welcome Portal across all locations through centralized management of guest Wi-Fi. Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has overseen one of Pittsburgh’s most historic transformations: turning a seedy red-light district into a magnet destination for arts-lovers, residents, visitors, and business owners. Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to the cultural and economic revitalization of a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District. The District is one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization. A major catalytic force in the city, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique model of how public-private partnerships can reinvent a city with authenticity, innovation, and creativity. Using the arts as an economic catalyst, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has holistically created a world-renowned Cultural District that is revitalizing the city, improving the regional economy and enhancing Pittsburgh’s quality of life. Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts.
