National Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day are observed each May as a way to honor, remember, recognize, and appreciate service members who wear the uniform of the U.S. Armed Forces. These annual holidays serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made in the name of freedom and provide a timely occasion for Samsung Electronics America and our employees to connect with the military community in the areas where we work and live.

For the fourth consecutive year, Samsung’s Veterans Community Employee Resource Group (ERG) has chosen to support Carry The Load, a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes – military, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders. Samsung employees from across the nation have signed up to participate in numerous socially distanced in-person and virtual activities to raise money in support of programs benefiting military service members and their families. These activities include a national walk/cycle relay throughout the month of May in which participants hand off the American flag every 5 miles on a route that covers more than 15,500 miles of ground; a “Dallas Memorial March” two-day Memorial Day weekend event, hosted in Carry The Load’s hometown; and fundraising and donation opportunities to benefit the cause.

Hear from a few of our employees on which of our nation’s heroes they are choosing to honor.
