As many Samsung employees have traded in cubicles and conference rooms for a more permanent remote workplace and virtual meetings, the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie has come alive across the company.
We asked employees to share what their new normal looks like while staying home – part of the collective effort to keep our communities healthy and thriving in the face of uncertainty.
Check out the below to see some of our favorites!
Wanda Young, Chief Marketing Officer, says the view out of her home office window has made the work from home transition a little easier. Maya, her very, hairy overprotective German shepherd, is also very happy she is home every day and keeps her company during conference calls.
Chuck Russo, Training Specialist in the Care Division, shared that he now has his best helper, Bogey by his side all day at home. “Bogey brings joy and works really cheap,” Russo joked, adding that he also requested extra doggie bones!
Michael Wilken, Internal Communications Manager based in Plano, TX and former Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class for the U.S. Navy, was among the first group of employees to complete our virtual new hire orientation. Kudos to the Learning & Development team for shifting the experience on such short notice and getting our new team members integrated into the Samsung culture with ease!
And as the work-from-home selfies rolled in, it was clear even more of our furry friends and some children were quickly becoming part of the Samsung family.
Christine Kang, Benefits Specialist, based in Ridgefield Park, NJ, says her cat, Nina, loves to do cat things, like sitting on laptops! Luckily, she’s sitting on her personal laptop so she can still work.
Felicia Blasberg, Head of HR Operations & Planning, has enlisted a stand-in for herself when she needs a break. Larry, her dog, admits it was an especially “ruf” week working from home without any thumbs… #HardToWorkWithNoThumbs, #dogdays, #biscuits
And one of our personal favorites, Sarah Daniels, who works in B2C Channel Sales out of Las Vegas, shows off Samsung’s newest employee!
