RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., September 6, 2017 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced the expansion of the second annual Summer Discovery Series to the fall following a successful summer run. The Discovery Series, hosted at Samsung 837 in New York City, gives college students and young professionals the opportunity to listen to an intimate career-centric conversation and lively Q&A session with some of the biggest names and entrepreneurs in top industry fields.

Starting September 25, 2017, the Fall Discovery Series will kick off with Sarah Ashley Schiear, founder of Salt House Market, followed by Gary Vaynerchuk, serial entrepreneur and CEO of VaynerX (October 30) and Jeff Franklin, creator, executive producer, writer and director of Full House and Fuller House (November 6).

“Starting an internship or determining a career path can be an overwhelming task, and many students and young professionals aren’t sure where to turn for guidance,” said Ann Woo, senior director of corporate citizenship, Samsung Electronics America. “This past summer, Samsung’s Discovery Series proved to be a great vehicle for bringing career mentors and helpful resources to this young audience. By extending through the fall, we give a platform to a new round of guest speakers who will inspire through the stories of their own career paths and challenges.” 

Samsung’s partnership with the Lollipop Theater Network, an organization dedicated to bringing current movies to children confined to hospitals due to illness, allows for collaboration on acquiring the talent of top industry leaders in entertainment and social media for the Discovery Series. Former guest speakers at the 2017 Summer Discovery Series included:

  • Kara Ross, jewelry designer and founder of Diamonds Unleashed
  • Norman Golightly, producer, founder and CEO of isitFunnyorOffensive.com
  • Tommy Oliver, writer director, producer and founder of Confluential Films
