Samsung Introduces Three New Curved Monitors for Fully Immersive, Premium Viewing Experience

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – April 2, 2015 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today unveiled three new curved monitors, offering outstanding viewing and entertainment experiences, new eye saving technology* and eco-save options for consumers and professionals alike. The new consumer monitors include the SE590C Curved Monitor, available in 31.5-inches with a  black frame; the SE591C Curved Monitor, available in 27-inches with a white frame and the SE510C Curved Monitor, available in 23.6-inches or 27-inches, both with a black frame.

Premium Viewing Experience

With curvature ranging from 3000R (SE590C) to 4000R (SE591C and SE510C) and full HD resolution, all of Samsung’s new curved monitors offer an unparalleled, immersive experience. This panoramic feel is complimented by static contrast ratios of up to 5,000:1 and Samsung’s VA panel which enables darker blacks, more vivid colors and sharper image details, bringing all the action on your screen to life, even in extremely dark or fast-moving scenes. Enhanced brightness ratios of 350cd/m2 (SE591C and SE590C) and 250cd/m2 (SE510C) also create incredibly vibrant images, perfect for viewing multimedia, editing photography and more.

Unique Eye Saving Technology

A major benefit of the new curved monitor line is decreased eye fatigue and increased efficiency, even when using the monitor for long periods of time. Because the edges of the new monitors are physically closer to the user’s eyes and match their natural curve, users don’t need to shift focus to see the ends of the screen. This makes them ideal for entertainment, including gaming, and detailed office work like editing photos.

To improve eye comfort*, Samsung has introduced Eye Saver Mode and Flicker Free technology. Eye Saver Mode works by decreasing the monitors’ harmful blue light, which can cause eye fatigue, while Flicker Free technology further protects the eyes from the strain of flickering screens plaguing many conventional monitors. These features, coupled with the curved display, allow SE590, SE591 and SE510 owners to use their monitor for longer without eye exhaustion – perfect for movie marathons or long days in the home office.

 Optimized Entertainment Experience

The SE591C and SE590C both deliver rich sound, bringing music, audio and video content to life, thanks to two 5W built-in dual stereo speakers and a proprietary dual sound engine with acoustic mechanical engineering technology.

In addition to the superior sound quality, all three curved monitors include a Game Mode feature, which helps to improve the picture’s dark scenes and make fast-moving, blurred images clear, enhancing the total gaming experience. Additionally, with a response time of as little as 4-mili-seconds, users can see even the fastest on-screen motions clearly and smoothly with virtually no motion blur, judder or ghosting.

 Energy Efficient

The SE510C, SE591C and SE590C all include eco-saving technology, reducing the screen brightness for increased energy efficiency. In addition to two standard manual settings (minimum 25 percent, maximum 50 percent), a new automatic setting reduces energy consumption by up to 10 percent based on the luminescence of the screen’s black sections. Besides resulting in lower energy consumption, Eco-Saving Plus can save consumers money on their electric bill.

The three new monitors will be available beginning May 2015. The SE590C will retail for an MSRP of $599.99; the SE591C will retail for $399.99 and SE510C will start at an MSRP of $299.99.
