Samsung Addresses USTR for the Section 201 Presidential Action Hearing

Today, Whirlpool continued to try to abuse U.S. trade laws, which will disrupt market competition, limit freedom of choice and raise the prices of washing machines for American consumers.

Any tariff would also harm job creation at our new South Carolina factory that will begin producing washing machines for sale in early 2018.

We hope that the Administration will recognize Samsung’s commitment to U.S. manufacturing and help us protect the nearly 1,000 additional jobs we are bringing to the U.S.
