Awarded 80 trophies across nine categories ranging from product to user experience (UX) design for TVs, home appliances, smartphones, and other devices

Samsung Electronics announced that it received a total of 80 awards at the International Forum (iF) Design Awards 2023, a prestigious German international design competition. Included among the honours was a Gold Award for Samsung’s Bespoke Infinite Line refrigerator and kitchen appliances.[1]

Founded in 1953 as Die Gute Industrieform e.V., the iF Design Award conducts comprehensive evaluations of factors including differentiation and impact across a total of nine categories: Product, Packaging, Communication, Professional Concept, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Service Design, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI).

“It is important to design meaningful experiences that integrate shifting customer values with innovative technologies,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Corporate Design Centre at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to contribute to our customers’ lives and our society with designs that cater to all needs.”

A new update – soon to be available on the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series – adds zoom capabilities to Camera Controller[3], further expanding the Galaxy camera experience with Galaxy smartphone and Galaxy Watch connectivity. Now users can remotely control their phone’s camera zoom with a simple pinch of the watch face or a turn of the rotating bezel – perfect for taking group shots or solo selfies from a distance and eliminating the need to run back and forth to the camera to frame the perfect picture.

We flipped things around and hosted our very first Content Creators Lounge at Fourway’s Design Quarter, inviting some local influencers to come out and experience the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4. We rolled out the black carpet, and each guest entered our Creator’s Lounge through a triangular walkway lit up by bright purple lights, where inside, they were welcomed by décor that demonstrated our passion for combining elegance and style into one.

From the hottest in local music to a fabulous new format, 947 listeners are in for an unbelievable treat.

Primedia has partnered with Samsung South Africa to bring you a game-changing event that runs not just for one day but two and will be rebranded as the Samsung Galaxy 947 Move, a music festival with a lot on the go.
