To give a brief introduction of the Samsung’s LAB-GEO Series, it is a lineup of Samsung’s innovative medical devices, specifically blood testers or blood analyzers. Samsung designed the series by focusing on patient care and comfort, which led them to be recognized at the world-renowned iF Design Awards last year and IDEA Design Awards this year.

This new LABGEO series is unique for its completely different look when compared to former standard products. The LABGEO PA20, a medical device that can diagnose heart problems in just 17 minutes, not only has a much smaller size, increasing its spatial efficiency, but also has a movable LCD screen, enabling users to see the results at any angle.

Samsung B-10, another product in this series, was highlighted on the BBC News for its speed in collecting and delivering blood samples to the hospital straight from the ambulance, and noted for providing significant benefits to enhancing the quality of clinical care for emergency patients. The series was also promoted and recognized by other prominent media.

The series is also helpful to medical technicians who use X-rays many times a day. Before the series appeared on the market, x-ray machinery was more cumbersome, forcing technicians to spend more time maneuvering the machine. However, thanks to the series, technicians can now easily adjust the x-ray device to the best position with Samsung’s “soft handling” feature, a special sensor that instantly recognizes the perfect place. Also, they can now adjust the unit with just one finger. This design is said to have been inspired by the latest human robot technology.

The LCD screen is also an improvement of efficiency. With the screen, technicians can select a certain protocol and immediately start the device operation, improving user convenience.

This series not only helps the technicians, but also is helpful to users and patients who are now able to follow what is happening x-rays are being taken, thanks to the light on top of the machine and shutter sound.

By seeing the convenience and usefulness of the series, it is clear that Samsung’s medical devices have been designed to represent the strong value of human health. In fact, Samsung has been trying to design for better workflow and convenience for both technicians and patients by combining the best technology and thoughtful consideration under its motto “Performance in style.” With that in mind, we can expect to see Samsung create a new trend in the entire healthcare industry around the world.
