Samsung Australia has today received two Canstar Blue Innovation Excellence Awards, achieving the five-star accolades in the “Smart Devices” and “Home Entertainment” appliance categories for its Galaxy Z Flip4 smart phone and 2023 Television line-up respectively. In 2023, Samsung was the only brand to receive multiple Canstar Blue Innovation Excellence Awards in the appliance category.

In taking out top honours, Canstar Blue judges deemed Samsung’s 2023 Television line-up and the Galaxy Z Flip4 smart phone as ‘game-changing breakthroughs’ in their sectors. With Canstar Blue adding ‘Smart Devices’ as a new ‘Appliances’ subcategory this year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 smart phone wears the inaugural badge, setting a benchmark for future innovation.

According to Canstar Blue, Innovation Excellence Awards are measured based on how unique and disruptive a product is within the current market and the impact it has on consumers. Of Samsung’s winning products, Canstar Blue said:

Samsung Electronics Australia has set a new benchmark for customer satisfaction, taking out Canstar Blue’s ‘2022 Most Satisfied Customers’ awards in both the Television and Home Theatre Systems[1] categories for a second consecutive year. With the Samsung Solar Cell remote also receiving a Canstar Blue 2022 Innovation Excellence Award due to its remarkable breakthrough in sustainability and convenience, Samsung is Canstar Blue’s most revered AV brand of the decade2.

As Australia’s most trusted consumer comparison site[2], Canstar Blue asked over 1,200 Australians who had purchased a television in the last two years, and approximately 250 Australians who had purchased a Home Theatre System in the past three years to rate the products on overall satisfaction, in addition to performance, user friendliness, features and functionality, value for money, and design.

Samsung Electronics Australia has been awarded five accolades in this year’s Canstar Blue Innovation Excellence Awards for products of outstanding innovation that improve the lives of Australians.

The awards recognised a range of Samsung’s home appliance and audio-visual products including the Family Hub 5.0 (Kitchen Appliances Award), Smart AI Washing Machine (Laundry Appliances Award), GEO Wind-Free^TM Split System Air Conditioner (Heating & Cooling Award), Neo QLED 8K TV (Home Entertainment) The Terrace Outdoor TV (Outdoor Entertainment) across five out of six categories.

Canstar Blue’s Innovation Excellence Awards involve a sophisticated rating methodology, unique to Canstar Blue, which compares submissions received from home appliance and consumer electronics brands that have innovated to bring an outstanding product or feature to market.

The winners have been scored based on whether their product is unique and how disruptive or new it is to the category, with the addition of the overall ‘wow’ factor. The awards also evaluate the affordability and ease of use of each submission, to measure the impact these innovative products have on consumers’ everyday lives.
