In the era of smartphone technology that keeps getting better and better, filmmaking has never been more accessible. Gone are the days of heavy, ultra-expensive movie cameras. Even some professional directors have shot films on smartphones.

But not all smartphones are created equal.

For today’s budding filmmakers, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is equipped for Hollywood. Packed with innovative recording and editing features, the premium flagship smartphone from Samsung offers essential tools for the various stages of the movie-making process, from pre-production camera tests to post-production viewing.

Filmmaking is complicated. Screenwriting, casting and location scouting are just the beginning of the process. But thanks to continued evolution in the mobile camera space, the quality of the movie camera on smartphones has improved, allowing access to even more aspiring creatives and filmmakers. The latest premium Samsung phone is a prime example.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G comes loaded with a rear pro-grade quad camera setup consisting of a 108-megapixel wide angle, two 10-megapixel telephoto, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide lenses. It also comes with the ability to record HD quality video at 120 frames per second (fps), 4K video at 60fps and even 8K at 24fps. Furthermore, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G also boasts a unique Director’s View that’s designed to provide even greater control and result in professional-looking shots.

From Shooting to Editing, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Has You Covered

Director’s View allows the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G user to record from multiple camera lenses at the same time, including both front and rear cameras, so directors can catch the action from multiple angles simultaneously. The software also allows the user to view thumbnail images for each of the scenes captured by the various cameras, making it easy to select your favourite shot. Director’s View is just one of the possible shooting options, with users able to choose from a variety of different modes to suit the location, style and scene, including Night and Super Slow-Mo modes.

That’s only the beginning. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G also comes with a variety of settings to help you make tweaks during the shooting process. For example, users can lock focus and exposure to ensure consistent lighting, even when moving around. This is in addition to drawing on video stabilization features like Super Steady to utilize a software-based camera stabilizer without the need for a tripod or gimbal.

As to be expected with a feature-rich OS, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G also comes loaded with a variety of editing tools to help create professional looking videos regardless of where the action happens to be taking place. When even greater editorial control is needed, access to a wide selection of dedicated and professional video editing apps, including Adobe Premiere Rush[1], is available from the Galaxy Store.

Debut Your Movie On The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G

Once the director is ready to call “That’s a wrap!” the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G allows quick and clear video playback. Not only can you enjoy a cinematic experience on the 6.8-inch screen[2] , but the Quad HD+ (3200 x 1440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support will display the recorded content in crisp detail. At the same time, the premium sound will be delivered through the phone’s stereo speakers by AKG, capable of providing a Dolby Atmos-powered surround-sound listening experience.

For times when an even larger screen is needed, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G can easily be connected to a compatible Smart TV[3] by either streaming the media file from the phone using Samsung Smart View or by physically connecting the two devices together via Samsung DeX or USB-C-HDMI cable (sold separately). The smartphone even has the capacity to store and stream lengthy “director’s cuts.” With up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, a 5,000mAh capacity battery[4], and 5G connectivity[5], the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is epic in every way.

Whether shooting a short art film, an important documentary, or a “captured #WithGalaxy” masterpiece, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is made for filmmaking’s next breakout talents.
