Knox Capture provides businesses with the performance and flexibility they need to empower frontline workers.

Powered by Scandit, the solution transforms rugged mobile device cameras into a quick and powerful barcode scanner.

Samsung Electronics Canada announced today that Samsung Knox Capture, a data capture solution that unlocks enterprise-grade barcode scanning capabilities, is available across the entire lineup of Galaxy rugged devices, including the Galaxy Tab Active3, Galaxy Tab Active Pro and Galaxy XCover Pro. Knox Capture delivers fast, accurate scanning for frontline workers across a variety of industries including manufacturing, transportation and logistics, retail and healthcare.

“Today’s frontline workers require multiple devices to complete their daily jobs. As a result, IT leaders are looking to consolidate and find innovative solutions that meet workforce needs. Knox Capture was developed to deliver a more seamless, cost-effective, multi-purpose option,” said Paul Edwards, VP of Enterprise Mobility, Samsung Electronics Canada. “Building on Samsung Knox platform capabilities, we’re committed to delivering high-performing and flexible solutions, empowering businesses with technology to solve their most complex mobility requirements.”

Knox Capture transforms Samsung rugged mobile device cameras into powerful scanners by leveraging Scandit’s mobile computer vision software, providing the performance and flexibility customers need for digitized business workflows. Coupled with the leading productivity features of the Galaxy rugged lineupand Samsung Knox Suite’s tools for security, deployment and management, the solution enables businesses and frontline workers to do more than ever on a single device, securely.

Crafted for Frontline Workers

Today’s frontline workers require intelligent tools that help them work more efficiently, while keeping safe. The Galaxy rugged portfolio was designed with these workers in mind, and Knox Capture adds further value by consolidating the number of devices needed and simplifying yet another task that they may encounter. Whether it’s a warehouse associate scanning multiple packages for delivery, or a nurse scanning wristbands in a hospital setting, Knox Capture is fast and easy to use. Simply press a pre-programmed button on any Galaxy rugged device to activate the scan – it’s as easy as taking a picture.

While the solution has single-scanning options, it can also simultaneously scan multiple barcodes and supports a wide range of commonly used industry 1D and 2D barcodes, including EAN, UPC, GS1 DataBar, ITF, and Codabar. By scanning multiple barcodes simultaneously with a single click, workers can reduce the amount of time spent on stock taking, allowing them to focus on other priorities and increasing efficiency across supply chains and operations.

Cost Effective Deployment and Effortless Configuration

Ready on day one as a part of the Samsung Knox Portfolio, Knox Capture seamlessly transforms ruggedized devices into industrial tools with advanced, customizable scanning controls that businesses can tailor to their individual needs. Most enterprises have to build or adapt their apps to leverage scanning solutions through complex and time-consuming development efforts. However, Knox Capture isn’t just a software scanner; it’s also a data wedge that requires no integration or development prior to use. This eliminates scanning related development and maintenance costs, getting businesses up and running faster with an off-the-shelf solution that can immediately scan barcode data into homegrown, third party apps and web apps.

As businesses look to begin their digital transformation journey, expand existing homegrown or third-party software scanning solutions, or replace legacy dedicated scanners, Knox Capture features the capabilities enterprises need for a wide range of digitized business workflows.

“We’re extremely pleased with our latest collaboration with Samsung. It has brought to market an easy-to-deploy integrated solution for businesses looking to put scanning tools instantly in the pockets of frontline workers,” said Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit. “For off-the-shelf scanning needs, it is a sure-fire way to boost employee performance and productivity. For enterprises, it is also a foundation for more advanced computer vision capabilities that Scandit delivers by working directly with customers alongside Samsung to support their digital transformation journey.”
