Samsung Electronics Canada Recognized as One of Canada’s Top 100 Employers
Samsung Electronics Canada, for the fifth year in a row, has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2020. This annual selection, now in its 20th year, aims to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces.
As part of the evaluation process, Employers are compared to other organizations in similar fields to determine which businesses offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs for employees. Samsung Canada impressed judges by offering a wide range of such programs that work to foster everything from improving on personal health and wellness to instilling a positive, innovative corporate culture.
Industry leading initiatives from Samsung Canada include:
-
- Prioritizing employee health and wellness: Samsung Canada organizes an annual wellness fair to promote healthy, balanced living as well as a number of mental health awareness campaigns — additionally, employees can take advantage of separate health and wellness spending accounts to offset the costs of related services.
-
- Recognizing employee contributions: Samsung Canada embeds recognition into its corporate culture through the online “U r Awesome” platform, which allows employees to nominate, recognize and reward their peers — employees receive a minimum of 3,000 points per month to distribute to colleagues for a job well done, and points are redeemable for a range of merchandise.
-
- Providing purchasing perks: Along with a number of financial benefits, Samsung Canada offers employees a variety of corporate discounts as well as a generous employee purchase program, allowing employees to purchase up to $20,000 in Samsung products per year.
-
- Supporting the next generation of Canadians: Samsung Canada supports young people through initiatives such as the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Challenge, a national educational initiative for Canadian students from grades 6 to 10 to apply STEM learning to solve issues in their communities and compete for Samsung school technology grants (four grand prizes of $20,000 each).
“We are honoured to once again be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and Greater Toronto’s Top 100 Employers,” says, Jeff Jo, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Canada. “This recognition is a testament to our incredible team who continue to set the standard for doing business in Canada. Our passion for excellence – in our products, in our technology and within our organization – is the cornerstone of who we are and what we stand for at Samsung Canada.”
Samsung Canada employs between 501-750 Canadians across the country with offices located in Burnaby and Vancouver, British Columbia and in Mississauga and Toronto, Ontario.
