30 Years Wiser

Some say Samsung is the new kid on the block but we like to say that Samsung is 30 years wiser. It takes many years for good ideas to become reality. In 1982, Samsung began with the fax machine but that was only the beginning. Soon, Samsung progressed onto laser printers with the goal of making them affordable, easy-to-use, and eco-friendly.

Once most homes were enjoying the performance of laser printers, Samsung looked at the B2B market and found it a little, dare to say, unimaginative. Well, it took a while, but in 2010 Samsung came up with its A3 Multifunction Printer (MFP) line, using its own patented technology.

30 Years Wiser

It was built on the past three decades worth of research and customer feed-back. And it wasn’t easy. To develop one A3 MFP, it takes more than three years and at costs approximately equivalent to designing a car. But A3 MFP is more than the sum of its 12,000 parts. It requires electronic, mechanical, chemical, and optical engineering and of course expertise in the service sector–our printers may be high-performance but they are easy to use and maintain!

Another reason Samsung is so proud of its A3 MFP line, is because they take into account the phenomenal changes Samsung has experienced. In the last five years, Samsung has seen a proliferation of smart, mobile devices and they are not just challenging its industry but other industries as well. To meet these changes, Samsung has developed a wide array of mobile printing solutions and applications.

Samsung A3 MFP lines and mobile printing solutions are the result of being able to leverage its technology that has gone into the development of Samsung’s smartphones, mobile devices, and smart TVs. By developing these devices and applications, Samsung knows that printers are no different. They have to be simple, straightforward, and comprehensive. Coming from such a background, Samsung developed the world’s first NFC-enabled color printer in 2013 that helped people enjoy seamless and intuitive document solutions.

Thus, Samsung is 30 years wiser, lessons learned through constant challenges and innovations.
