Galaxy Tab S Crushes the 4 Stereotypes for Tablets
‘To tablet or not to tablet, that is the question.’ If this incorrectly and forcefully structured sentence inspired by Shakespeare describes your dilemma, here is something that will make the decision a little easier for you. As Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab S suggests, tablets just are not the same as they used to be. Although we at Samsung Tomorrow suggested that this year is going to be the year of tablet, you still might be hesitating, weighing the pros and cons. So here we are, ready to crush all your stereotypes for tablets.
Typing is difficult with tablets, because there is No built-in Keyboard
It is true, typing can be much easier with a keyboard. Therefore, if you are someone who does a lot of typing, no built-in keyboard could be a deal breaker. However, if what you need is a keyboard, who says it needs to be built-in? With the announcement of Galaxy Tab S, Samsung also introduced the Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard, which offers the same design as that of a laptop keyboard. It also stays attached as one, so you can carry it around like a laptop and detach it when you don’t need it.
Tablets aren’t just powerful enough
This depends on the kind of task you do with the device. If you are a professional who is looking to do some heavy duty multimedia designing or editing, you might want the CPU, memory and storage to be as powerful as possible. However, if your main activities revolve around videos, pictures, web surfing or apps, Exynos 5 Octa (1.9 GHz QuadCore＋ 1.3 GHz Quadcore)* , 3GB and 16/32 internal memory (microSD up to 128GB) is more than enough. While specifications have improved significantly over the years, Galaxy Tab S offers one of the best specifications among tablets.

Tablets are too bulky and heavy to hold for a long time
This all depends on how long you hold the device. For example, just because the Galaxy Tab S offers about 11 continuous hours of 1080p video playback, doesn’t mean you should hold it for that long; that already sounds challenging. However, holding anything for that long will give you cramps. The thing to keep in mind is that Galaxy Tab S is Samsung’s thinnest (6.6mm) and lightest tablet to date. The 10.5” and 8.4” weigh only 465g and 294g respectively. That means they both weigh much less than a dozen medium size eggs (approx. 764g), and are much more fun to watch.
There is nothing special to do with tablets
This is just simply wrong. Galaxy Tab S is specifically for content consumptions. And when the CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics, JK Shin, acknowledged that the ‘tablet is becoming a popular personal viewing device for enjoying content’, he probably had plenty of very solid reasons to believe so. More high-quality multimedia content is available than ever and there is no indication that the numbers are going to diminish. And this is why Galaxy Tab S features the Super AMOLED display. If not convinced, just check out the some of the premium contents* Galaxy Tab S offers.
NETFLIX: Netflix will be available in high definition making the Tab S one of the selected few tablets to offer Netflix streaming of movies and TV shows in full HD 1080p.
YOUTUBE: Samsung partnered with YouTube so the Galaxy Tab S supports YouTube 1080p videos.
Papergarden& Condé Nast: They offer users a variety of interactive magazines customized exclusively for the Tab S. All the content is optimized for the 16:10 aspect ratio of the Tab S, and the colors are even richer thanks to the Super AMOLED display.
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: National Geographic will offer the 50 Greatest Photographs application and various interactive features.
MARVEL: Users will be able to see Marvel content on the Marvel app on Samsung Tablets starting with Tab S
Hopefully, with all this in mind, those of you that had been sitting on the fence have seen the light and are ready to answer the question with a resounding “to tablet.”
