Establishment of SEA

Samsung Electronics America (SEA) was established in July, 1978. A wholly-owned subsidiary of electronics giant Samsung Electronics, SEA increased the global awareness of the Samsung brand and established their own service system.

Overall exports reached 100 million dollars

Samsung Electronics reached the landmark production of 5 million TVs in December, 1978. Before reaching this astonishing figure, in May of the same year Samsung had already expanded their Black and White TV lines to become the number one manufacturer in the world. Samsung’s great innovations in technology and cost reduction allowed them to achieve this impressive feat.
