IFA 2014: 5 things you need to know
Start marking off your calendar; the countdown to IFA 2014 has begun.
IFA, as you know, is a huge event. To quote its official website, IFA is a ‘… global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, presents the latest products and innovations…’ Therefore, naturally, Samsung always has been one of the key exhibitors and the same thing can be expected this year.
To get you started, here are some of the things you should know about IFA 2014 in general and what Samsung has in store.
1. Time and Dates
IFA 2014 will kick off on September 5th and go through the 10th. And just like the previous year, IFA 2014 will be held in Messe Berlin, Berlin, Germany. There isn’t much time left, so you probably want to start your research before the party begins.
2. What you can expect from Samsung

Want to know what to expect for hot trends this year? Well, we’re not yet able to tell you what we’re going to talk about just yet. (We do expect the Gear S is going to be on display at IFA 2014.) So instead, we’ve put together what others have been saying. Here are some of their keywords you might want to pay attention to:
* Keywords listed below merely mirror current media trends and do not necessarily represent the categories Samsung will be talking about at IFA 2014.
• Future Home
• Wearables
• Internet of Things (IoT)
Yes, we know that you might have heard some general news about these keywords, but you know, as we head into IFA 2014.
Of course, there is going to be more. We already saw a couple of teasers from Samsung such as the invitation to Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode and the teaser video of the Curved UHD TV with Miguel Chevalier. Samsung also announced its plan to unveil new Smart TV content.
3. Live Events
For Samsung, the party will actually start on September 3. Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 happens live on the 3rd simultaneously in three different cities: Berlin, Beijing and New York. Samsung will also hold a press conference on the 4th and a Keynote speech on the 5th.
All of these events will be livestreamed via an amazing communication medium called “the internet.” Therefore, you can come visit this blog, global.samsungtomorrow.com if you want to check the events live. We will update you on the specific time and dates for the press conference and keynote speech.
4. Smart Lounge
