Journey to IFA 2014 at Berlin

Berlin can seem pretty far away, even if you live in Germany. So, don’t worry if you cannot be here in Berlin for IFA 2014.There are thousands of people who also couldn’t make it as well because of real-world problems, such as time or money. Well, if you are one of the thousands, it is good that you are here with us, because we’ve done the hard work of getting to IFA 2014 and finally the Samsung booth, so feel free to live vicariously through us. No need to thank us, we are here to work.

On the 3rd of September, the weather was perfect and the vibe was groovy outside the Tempodrom where the Unpacked event was held. It was probably because of the buzzing excitement for the event, but the champagne and snacks for people before the event definitely helped set the mood. Finally, the door opened, and history was made.

The day after Unpacked, we flashed our exhibitor pass to get into the Samsung Press Conference. As you know, from TV and digital appliances to enterprise solutions, there were more than enough things to be excited about.

The Press Conference was held at Messe Berlin, which is also the place where IFA 2014 is going to be held. For first timers, the size of Messe Berlin might be overwhelming. It consists of 26 halls covering 160,000 square meters (= approximately 1,700,000 sq ft). It is huge! It is so huge that there are actually hall-to-hall shuttles, which really isn’t a surprise considering that around 240,000 visitors from more than 100 countries attended IFA 2013.

However, if you are planning to check out Samsung at IFA 2014, you don’t need to worry about shuttle schedules. Just drop by the CityCube Berlin at Messe, and you will get to see all of Samsung’s latest products in one giant booth. If we were you we would dedicate a day just for the Samsung booth, because not only will there be tons of the latest technology to witness, there is also space to relax in the Smart Lounge, where you can get Wi-Fi, snacks and some gifts to chill out with other great spirits.

Finally, on the 5th of September, Samsung kicks off IFA 2014 with the Keynote Speech at CityCube Berlin. We are going to bring you the live streaming of the event on the blog at 10:30 CEST, so you can start the IFA 2014 with us!

As IFA has already stated, the main topics this year is the Smart TV, Smart Handhelds / Mobile Applications, Smart Living / Comfort & Lifestyle and Smart wearables.
