Pop quiz! Football families! In 2012, which current football team scored a Double, winning both the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League in the same year? If your child answered “Chelsea FC” before you finished the question, if they prefer playing football to playing Xbox, watching English Premiere League to watching cartoons and memorizing players’ names to doing homework, then here is a chance to make their waking dreams a reality.

This year, Samsung is teaming up with Chelsea Football Club to present the ‘Dream the Blues’ campaign, offering children worldwide the opportunity of a lifetime. The campaign begins with local football camps in eight countries and will end with a grand finale in Chelsea FC’s hometown of London.

Living the Dream with Samsung-Chelsea FC Youth Football Camp

It all begins at home. If your vacuum cleaner or any other priority product in each country is not performing up to expectations, by simply purchasing a qualifying Samsung Electronics Home Appliance product on or after [date], you will be eligible for a chance to enter your child between the ages of 9 and 13 for the local SamsungChelsea FC Youth Football Camp (YFC). The camp will be coming soon to a city near you to train approximately 200 children.

Chelsea FC Foundation coaches are coming to local community

Samsung-Chelsea FC Youth Football Camps were originally a grassroots football coaching program called FITC (Football In The Community), which was run in local communities by Chelsea FC. In 2007, Samsung joined Chelsea FC to expand the program globally, and since then, some 5,000 youth across the world have benefited from the program.

In each local youth football camp, the coaches from Chelsea FC Foundation will be training the young footballers for a half-day session in the Chelsea Way; the participants will be grouped into three according to their age, and will go through a series of skills drills and mini games designed to refine their control, shooting, dribbling, and passing. Children who successfully complete all of the courses will receive certificates and a special YFC kit, which includes a uniform and souvenirs.

What is different this year is that the participants of the YFC will also qualify for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Two lucky children from each of the eight countries, 16 kids in all, will be selected from among the YFC participants to meet their heroes at the Chelsea FC stadium in London this May.

‘Dream the Blues’ campaign aims to encourage football-loving youths to achieve their football dreams

This year will mark the pinnacle of the YFC program: the year that the program evolved to help the dreams of young footballers come true. Sixteen youths selected from 8 countries in four months will be invited to the Blues Camp, where, over the course of a week, they further refine their football skills under the training of youth coaches under the Chelsea FC Foundation, tour the Blue’s home stadium, Stamford Bridge, watch a Chelsea FC match, and experience firsthand the city of London, all while forging unforgettable global friendships with each other.

The children will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and interact with Chelsea FC’s premier league players. The ‘Dream the Blues’ campaign ambassadors Fernando Torres, one of the world’s deadliest strikers, Juan Mata, the Spanish maestro, Victor Moses, the Nigerian international with both pace and power, and Oscar dos Santos, the future of Brazilian football, will all be on hand to personally meet with them.

Local YFCs begin global journey in Mexico, wrap up in Turkey
