Samsung Electronics recently received the Best IT Platform award for its Tizen operating system at the CNews AWARDS 2015, hosted by the CNews Forum. The award underscores Samsung’s commitment to develop the Tizen ecosystem in the Russian market.

Tizen OS, Samsung’s highly secure open source architecture, enables Russian developers to create a wide range of trusted execution environments, develop innovative solutions for corporate mobility and find applications in high-tech devices within the Internet of Things ecosystem.

“Development of the Tizen ecosystem in Russia is one of our top priorities. Russian business clients have already given positive feedback on strategic advantages of Tizen OS. Recognition by the CNews AWARDS 2015 further reinforces our support for a truly efficient tool that meets the needs of the Russian corporate market”, said Andrei Tikhonov, Corporate Sales Director at Samsung Electronics Russia.

Some of the most important features of Tizen OS are its integrated data security tools, encryption mechanisms, and app and data containerization tools, significantly reduced sources requirements, efficiency and reduced power consumption. These features equip Russian companies with a richer selection of development tools for complex digital corporate systems, ensuring a high level of information security and efficient interconnection of devices within the Internet of Things ecosystem. The platform is also fully compatible with the latest web standards (W3C\HTML5\CSS3).

In addition, Tizen OS received a state security certification from the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia, which confirms its high information security, preventing any confidentiality breaches or third-party access.

The unique properties of Tizen OS allowed Samsung to launch Samsung Z3, a new smartphone in Russia designed to meet the needs of corporate customers and satisfy the Russian security requirements, in October, 2015.
