Samsung Electronics announced its new Food ShowCase side-by-side refrigerator at IFA 2013. Its innovative design provides smart separation in the refrigerator area – the ShowCase for instant access of frequently used items and InnerCase for longer storage required ingredients.

Samsung Food ShowCase Refrigerator

Thanks to its ShowCase – four times bigger than a conventional home-bar – consumers are now able to store and instantly access food, snacks and drinks. The InnerCase holds larger and fresh ingredients for longer.

We noticed a growing demand from consumers wanting quick access to items without spending too much time looking for it with the door open when it comes to refrigerators. The Samsung Food ShowCase delivers the perfect solution for every member of the family, merging consumer lifestyle based research, engineering and innovative design

ShowCase for Frequently Used Items

The ShowCase, which opens only the exterior door of the refrigerator, is designed to make organizing and consuming food as easy as possible for every member of the household. Once opened, users can find what they want at one glance. Customizable baskets answer the various needs of a home by placing six specific food cases within the ShowCase – Cheese Case, Sauce Case, Drink Case, Snack Case, Kids Case and Multi Case.

The Cooking Zone (upper level) – Cheese Case & Sauce Case

The Family Zone (mid-level) – Drink Case & Snack Case

The Kids Zone (lower level) – Kids Case & Multi Case

The Kids Case, for example, is placed in the lower level of the ShowCase allowing easy access for children. Separating it into zones, it allows users to effectively organize and find food items. Additionally, the snack and kids case are detachable and can be placed directly on the table – further enhancing its usability. The ShowCase also features a Metal Cooling door that effectively keeps cooled air within the refrigerator.

InnerCase for Preserving Food

The InnerCase is designed to keep food such as vegetables, fruits, meat and others. Unlike conventional refrigerators with one cooling system for both the freezer and refrigerator, Samsung’s innovative Twin Cooling Plus® System separates airflow from the refrigerator and the freezer enabling accurate temperature control improving cooling performance. The refrigerator area keeps fruits and vegetables fresher, longer. The freezer reduces freezer burn, maintaining the quality of frozen food.

Samsung Space Max for Efficient Spacing

Samsung’s Space Max technology is an insulation technique allowing the fridge walls to be thinner without compromising the overall size of the unit. As a result, the Food ShowCase offers more capacity within the interior of the refrigerator, all the while maintaining the same size and dimension of the exterior.

Modern Design to Match the Modern Lifestyle

The new Food ShowCase side-by-side refrigerator features elegant metal doors which inherits Samsung’s design philosophy of ‘Timeless Design,’ expressing and adding a premium feel to the modern lifestyle of families.

Food ShowCase that Works Smart

Samsung’s superior digital inverter compressor improves energy efficiency and cooling performance by automatically adjusting across five speeds of RPM in response to cooling demands. Whether due to frequent door opening, a hot plate of food or changes to the outside temperature, the compressor reacts rapidly and provides cold air or slows down to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. And, unlike other models, Samsung’s compressor operates at a lower noise level at night.
